someone big needs to record a hit with Granpa so he can reap a reward ,,,some thing tells me that all the money in the world couldn't repay him for the love and joy he has spread across this land ,,,,more people need to hear this man's genius
Cool dude to have no hang ups in a sick world which really passes grampa by, Take a leaf 'in' sit right on back there, take time and just sing or hum and feel grampas song.
It really is a miracle to see him perform...it was one of those great magical moments and made me fall in love with New Orleans! I still can't believe that Grandpa isn't more well known! Glad you enjoyed my little window into a magical moment in live music!
beautiful...... I really like "somewhere over the rainbow". It's such a positively hopeful song.... loved the connie talbot version and definitely grandpa's too.... would have liked to hear it in a clear version...
I play this one on the uke all the time, but grandpa adds such power to the tune kind of like in the way Israel Kamakawiwo'ole did but in a different way.
I saw him in 2001 and have thought of him ever since. We looked for him in New Orleans last week, but thought that he left after the hurricanes. He's a treasure! I'm so happy to know he's still there.
I don't know how else to get it except buying it where he's playing on the street. It's called 'Blues For Days' by Stony B & Grandpa Elliott. There might be a way to order it, they don't have a label but Grandpa's pretty famous!
You have to catch him in the Quarter. The first time I ever saw the guy was two years ago and I was blown away by his voice. I wanted to buy his CD but didn't have enough money.
Sadly i live in Denmark, and goes to uni atm. Therefore the money is to tight to arrange a trip to the states. With that in mind you could say, that i'm i certainly don't have the money for his cd;o)
Bought his cd! What a feeling! This guy doesn't have a contract? Somebody needs to pick him up. He's cupid. He sang to my wife over the phone just because I bragged him so much. Don't let him sing a Christmas song to you if you aint got the bounty towels. He'll move ya!

I hadnt read any of the commentsand was just enjoying yet another of Grampa Elliots songs and thinking two things:
1, How can people be so blind and ignorant?
2, There are certain people (and I am talking about Grampa here) who have a gift of love, peace and understanding.
Then I read this:
God shows himself to us in various ways, it's left up to us to recognize him whenever and wherever he chooses to reveal his greatness
