What ever happened to Final Fantasy games for...I don't know, consoles? With a decent story that didn't rely on a million cut scenes, had decent and likeable characters, and was actually a joy to play?
Hrmm, instead of an MMO, what about a Final Fantasy with online mode instead? Like you enter an overworld with other people, just like Red Dead Redemption, but with the final fantasy style of course.. Or what about just an offline Final Fantasy game?
woah woah woah...an online rpg other than WOW that has good in-game graphics? The old republic made me lose faith but i didnt kno it got that good. Now i want a PS3. Again.
this reminds me a lot of FFIX. i'm kind of plaing catch-up with final fantasy- i currently have 7,8,9,10,12,and 13 on the go. it's a juggling game but is great for comparing all the different little things that make each one special.
OK.. I love Final Fantasy XIII... But the gameplay gets a bit too repetitive and boring. And too 'tube'-like. By that I mean no free-roam. Only in certain areas (no spoilers..) anywho.. XIV looks odd... It looks like a Mix between: LOTR, Oblivion, and Zelda... But that's just me... I am more excited for XIII-2 than XIV... Only thing that excites me for XIV-On-line is the 'On-line' part. That will be sick! If I decide to get XIV...

@LedZepp1393 Screw you! FFXIII was the best FF series ever made... The system, Crystarium is way better than the one they used in old FFs (Leveling system)... The battle system is also better.. It's more realistic this way than having to tag turns with the opponent to attack... Think about FF7 for PS1, if you don't use the other guys in your party they will not level up and thus weak.. Not in FFXIII... And that's how it supposed to be...

@tijofred That's because it was originally made for the PC. Many people don't have PC's with decent graphics cards. Its also an online game so... can you imagine the lag you'd get with XIII quality graphics having to load and stuff - it'd be a night mare.
@gamegard2 The first and original Final Fantasy was released for the NES back in Japan in 1987. Research the rest of it yourself, use Google. You're gonna have to do a lot of reading.

Even though FF7 was the first RPG I ever played, while it really opened my eyes to the genre, shaped me into what type of gamer I am today, it is certainly NOT the best game ever created. If you think it is, then it is for you. Before the release of Advent Children, nobody even cared for the remake of the original FF7. Rather than remaking past game entirely for milking purpose, they should just focus on developing the next installment of Final Fantasy.

Remaking FF7 for the current gen consoles does nothing amazing except for major graphical enhancement, certainly would look cool and all if they retain the same plot. If not, who can say it won't suck compared to the original? Either way, it is still just a waste of time. FF7 is still a great game without any remake.

A game where it only involves only square-enix characters no disney characters either. It would be called {Square-Enix DuoDream} and it would feature characters from Kingdom Hearts,Final Fantasy,The Bouncer, and The World Ends With You. It's game play would be like a Beat'em up combine with RPG elements so lets say your in battle mode and it's sora,squall,and neku and sora use's a spell call heartless and everyone turns into a heartless form then the battle system changes.
This game sucks so fucking hard. i had to literally destroy the gamedisc just to surely never touch this again.
and i dont complain about the graphics. its the goddamn gameplay. fuck that.
graphics and soundtrack could be awesome i dont know. but if the gameplay is terribly wrong, then graphics wont make it playable.
This game blows, and i didnt even tlked about the paying mechanism wich force you to pay to earn the freemonth and you have to pay monthly for every character you have...
What I disliked about FF 13 was the linear path. The graphics were great. I would have liked to walk around those cities, take in the sites, kill some monsters. The only real side quests in FF 13 is hunting monsters. That gets boring (especially when you have a limited area to run around).
Final Fantasy died after X. I think Versus could bring it back to life, if it ever gets released. Final Fantasy is just too similar to all other MMORPG's now, and it's very sad how far they have fallen. XI was not my thing, XII had a disastrous battle system and boring characters, and my God, what the hell was that XIII crap? Sorry for being so harsh, just don't like the direction FF is going.

graphics and soundtrack could be awesome i dont know. but if the gameplay is terribly wrong, then graphics wont make it playable.
This game blows, and i didnt even tlked about the paying mechanism wich force you to pay to earn the freemonth and you have to pay monthly for every character you have...

What I disliked about FF 13 was the linear path. The graphics were great. I would have liked to walk around those cities, take in the sites, kill some monsters. The only real side quests in FF 13 is hunting monsters. That gets boring (especially when you have a limited area to run around).

Final Fantasy died after X. I think Versus could bring it back to life, if it ever gets released. Final Fantasy is just too similar to all other MMORPG's now, and it's very sad how far they have fallen. XI was not my thing, XII had a disastrous battle system and boring characters, and my God, what the hell was that XIII crap? Sorry for being so harsh, just don't like the direction FF is going.

@JapanStudier Turn-Based? Really? First mainstream MMO that I could actually like :) I remember there was a turnbased MMORPG, as the genre startet to evolve (the time "Ragnarok" was created) . I liked it ALOT but it was the kind of MMO's you pay after playing 2 weeks. Now tell me they also included a working crafting-system and the things you craft aren't worthless and I will make an huge party for FFIV :D

Quit complaining about the graphics.. Trust me, when the game ships, half of you won't have the required computer to play this. Maybe one or two could play this on max settings. The graphics are amazing.

@wacopamela1 It will actually be about 1000000x better, most likely a 4 year + playtime, trust me. Final Fantasy 11, had 10 expansions this is going to blow the old MMO out of the water which sadly sucks, but hey. It's a re-vamp and something new, this is an MMORPG not an RPG/turn based game. Please do some research before you bash this.
