  • Hi! If you like the song and not only this specific version, I suggest you try and find it with Rosemary Clooney (a jazz singer, aunt of George Clooney), it´s an old version but incredibly good in percussion (Brazilian percussionists) and her interpretation is just *mar*vel*lous* !! The song´s name is Aquarela do Brasil.

  • hi!do you know the name of this band?i really like this version!

  • The version you are referring to, is it Clooney and Bing Crosby?

  • Hi! I´m not sure it´s Bing Crosby, I don´t think so, otherwise his name would appear in much bigger fonts! Wait, I´ll check in my file (I´ve got the song) and see who is in there with her!... .... The file says Rosemary Clooney and John Pizzarelli, "Brazil".

  • Culture is constantly recycled, and that's fine. The problem is when people hace access to something that's been adapted so many times, they lose track of whre things really come from.

The song in the video was not based on a song named "Brazil" by some "Baros and Russel" as stated in the credits. It's adapted from the Brazilian traditional song, Aquarela do Brasil (Brazil's Watercolor) by Ary Barroso.

In case anybody is lost, if I mention Brasil, I'm talking about the country, not the movie!

  • HAHAHA you guys have seen "Brazil" the film too much... awesome tune though.

  • listening to this has my old bones jumping and my old feet shufflin'. Thanx

  • great one ! bravo

  • i love it wierd vid though but i like it

  • I can't stop listening it!:D:D Awesome!!:D

  • Incredible. <3

  • Luv this vid! :)

  • This Song rules it make me feel sooooooo relaxed and good

  • Never see "Brazil" then, because it will take that feeling away for good whenever you hear it.

  • Fantastic! I Love this tune/toon more each time I see it!!:)

  • cool video

    said andrey

    weird video said mc

  • Better music does not exist.

  • LOL the guitar guy at 1:11

  • Very good cover of an old standby (Brazil) by The Real Tuesday Weld. Budovsky is an amazing talent.

  • I think you misinterpreted it, that's just the style. Try and think out of the box.

  • Amazing!

  • Wow!What an amazing imagination...

  • hahaha

i was so engulfed by the movie i forgot that there werent lyrics till like halfway through the song

  • PRETTY GOOD

  • me like!

  • great song better music vidio

  • I nominate Alex Budovsky for President!

  • This guy's works are probably the best animated music videos I've seen.

  • MONKEYS!!!

  • ah, so much fun

  • nul

  • This is more based on Geoff Muldaur's version than on the original. Still good though.

  • PAUSE AT 3:38!!! CLERKENWELL CUCKOO!

  • Really nice video,

this song its a traditional brazilian song named "Aquarela do Brasil".

    I loved this version.

  • o ya and the sign on the bar at the end at first reads "iceland"

  • Such bold and distinctive animation style! As an added bonus, the guy with what I assume to be a mandolin freaks the hell out of me.

  • its a balalaika

  • 3:28 the best part

  • what the

  • the captin and monkey represent the same thing; finding a love and they drink over it, ecxept the monkey lost his and cpt. is looking for her. monkey treid killing himself, a number of times, and the crab and spiders represents happyness. and duh, this takes place, in portugal, nt in brazil.

  • the spiders and crabs represent misery, along with the vodka, and the dragon sax represtns noise. =D

  • It's not a dragon! It's a seahorse!

  • how did the monkey try n kill himself...?

  • He jumped off Brazil

  • Yeah i want some guitar tabs for this awesome song :)

  • great song.

    i do a ukulele version.

    to hear it click on

    the above username

    and "more"...

  • great stuff - I love the song and the stream of conciousness animation reminds me of terry gilliam.

  • This is really great. Thanks!

  • Excellent!

    Favorite at first sight.

  • ЖАО ЖИЛЬБЕРТО

  • wow, really well done

  • We're all in it together.

  • I like you.

  • i love this song

  • "Aquarela do Brasil" or "Watercolor of Brazil" it's a original song by brazilian Ary Barroso, and not Baros and Russel. Great animation, congratulations!

  • Russel is author of English lyrics

  • great song great movie

  • Beautiful. I LOVE this style of animation, and I've ALWAYS loved this song. It seems so sad, this version, but still groovy. x3

Absolutely gorgeous! You're not the artist, are you?

  • OMG! its so beautiful. How was this done? Stop motion? Paint and flash? some animation program?

  • now this is some eargasmic shit!

    bravo

  • man thanx for posting this song was looking for it such a great song brazil brazil brazil zzzzzzzzzil

  • lol

i love the seahorse that pops out when the trumpet starts playing

  • fantastic...brazil!!!!

  • Brilliant animation!!! I was fascinated! Congratulations, guys!! Spaceba for sharing! Yo!!!

  • Love it, absolutely love it!

    Brazil, Brazil...

  • fantastic!

  • fantastic

  • This is remarkable!! I love the film because the song is its heart!

  • totally awesome.

  • i want to thank you sooooo much i have had that song stuck in my head for days but had no idea what the words were. THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • i cant find guitar tabs for this song anywhere at all can someone help me out?

  • excellent, thanks!

  • no where close to the original or first translation vocal performance. music is basiacally the same, too much synth, dont get me wrong i love synth house etc. , but too much of the human element is lost, sorry I apreciate it, but didn't do the original justice..personal opinion

  • fantastic

  • it hasn't been released indepedantly from the video yet unfortunately. we're hoping it will come out in some form in the near future

  • I checked Gracenote for all of the Real Tuesday Weld cds, and none of them have this song on them. Who is the real artist for this version of the song, and what album is it on?

  • Hey, does anybody know where we would be able to buy The Real Tuesday Weld version of this song?

  • yeah so i love "the real tuesday weld"'s muzikk and now i want it ALL!

  • Sure you may return if you want too, but do not bring that lost cause of ideology please.

  • thank you for the nice dream "merveilleux rêve" also the impressive artwork you have perform. Am i wrong to say that PINK MARTINI wrote that song?

  • Yes, you are wrong. Pink Martini has a good rendition (not the best, but good) of the song, but the song is originally a popular 1930's dancing song. If you havent seen the movie Brazil (1985, by terry gilliam) you should. It is my favorite movie, and uses the song in a very chilling way!

  • the worst in all of that, in the lead of this clip it is writen (Bares and Russel). i sometime jump the gun when inspired by fantabulous music and song. i will check on them. and i've seen Brazil the film and in the same manner i loose some of my logic before a CHEF-D'OEUVRE. Merci and thank you for the wake up call.

  • Major kudos! A fine antidote to the current morass of hip-hop and filth-laced gangsta rap.

Couldn't help but notice the spiders--a reference to the Brazilian wandering spider (family Ctenidae)... emphasis on 'wandering'?

    That dancing crab kills me.

  • It's a first time I hear about brazilian wandering spiders:)))

  • does anyone know where i can find a good download for this song? it's so addictive.

  • use downloadflv com my friend and convert the .flv file to mp3 by using freez software

  • Pretty clever and quite original.. Viva Brazil !

  • who sings this?

  • Stephen Coates and British band The Real Tuesday Weld

  • great music, great graphics

  • Muito bom mesmo! Eu como brasileiro me sinto orgulhoso por saber que temos gênios no mundo que fazem trabalhos como este. Parabéns!!! ( Very good! I'm a brazilian guy and i feel so much proud for know that exist a genius in the world that make work same this! Congratulations!!!)

  • Thanks for kind words!

  • is that scarcasm?

  • Not at all:) I am thankful for the responce

  • Budovsky must do some good drugs. Wish I knew what.

  • I don't do drugs at all. I just drink vodka sometimes

  • Brilliant . I love this song . God I love it . This animation is perfect for it also , crackles with Editorial cleverness and timing .

  • Excellent!

  • hahaha...another great video. thanks for putting this up clerkenwell kid. does the clerkenwell take old music and funk it up their style? people might say they lack originality, and yes they do. but to take something and funk it up and create something fresh....thats so like me. their strength lies somewhere else. in perpetual improvements. and is there such thing as originality? everything is taken from everywhere. but then maybe not.
