I had the privilege of growing up with his son. At the time, we knew his father sang music out of the country. I remember seeing him come home and watching him leave his house....no car.....no limo....just a simple man who walked to where ever he would perform. As I listen to his music, I now value the friendship his son and I had...but I also value the gift of music his father shared in a humble way with everyone.
