I don't get all the negative comments. I myself grew up to the nineties version of x-men and loved it. But just watched the first 2 episodes of this and just love the action and there's actually blood and his enemies getting killed not like the censored american version. Sure wolverine is smaller here but he's still ripped, some of the comic versions sport wolverine with 23 inch+ arms which is the size of most pro bodybuilders and they sure can't be agile like wolvie.

It's dark and for mature audiecnes which is good, but lacks the Wolverine look which is bad. Why is it Marvel can never get the formula right when comes to animation and movie; Wolverine wears costume uses claws, curses, drinks heavily, does not mind killing people, is not PG-13, is not for kids, is not a samurai. But I still wouldn't mind seeing this....

@Goronian Amano is a traditional ink and water japenese artist... and if you look at this studios in house style it does explain a lot given they work heavily with them. The character may not look the same, but from this studios work on Cyber City Oedo 808, his attitude definitly will be, I assure you if you have doubts watch that anime (its a late 80's early 90's one) and look at the attitude of Sen Goku and then come back and tell me this studio won't do him justice.

By the way, MAD also made Last Order Final Fantasy VII and a good amount of angst-ridden CLAMP work. Do not judge them by one series.

Sure they have worked on the likes of X for CLAMP, also look at the fact they've worked on things such as Trigun, Black Lagoon, Hellsing and the Hulk vs stuff.

It's dark and for mature audiecnes which is good, but lacks the Wolverine look which is bad. Why is it Marvel can never get the formula right when comes to animation and movie; Wolverine wears costume uses claws, curses, drinks heavily, does not mind killing people, is not PG-13, is not for kids, is not a samurai. But I still wouldn't mind seeing this....

Also, on a side note, he's ridiculously hot :D I love Wolverine and the originality of his character, but I can appreciate the damn good animation and this guy's looks. I'll just not think of him as Wolverine. Not really. It's easier to enjoy that way.

What I'm going to do is: 1) enjoy it like I'd enjoy anime and PRETEND IT'S NOT WOLVERINE. 2)Appreciate the animation and TELL MYSELF UTTERLY THAT IT'S NOT LOGAN/JAMES HOWLETT/WOLVERINE. 3)Immerse myself in the joys of anime and EXPLICITLY IGNORE THE FACT IT'S A WOLVERINE ANIME AND SIMPLY pretend he's just some tall guy who has the same name, power, and partial character traits and origin.
That's the most painless way I can think of to watch this show, which I WILL once it comes out.

Just putting it out there but to a lot of you complaining about wolverines look here... there is precedence for it in Marvel Canon, yes there was a point where Wolverine did have a mullet.

Also, the very idea of making Wolvie look bishonen is flawed beyond belief. That basically breaks his character over a knee and he becomes nothing, but Cloud with claws. I bet they make him less of an arsehole maniac and more of a brooding idiot, like, well, about 70% of modern anime heroes.

@Goronian Amano is a traditional ink and water japenese artist... and if you look at this studios in house style it does explain a lot given they work heavily with them. The character may not look the same, but from this studios work on Cyber City Oedo 808, his attitude definitly will be, I assure you if you have doubts watch that anime (its a late 80's early 90's one) and look at the attitude of Sen Goku and then come back and tell me this studio won't do him justice.

However, the fact, that they did one thing right,does not mean, they'll wo THIS right. And, well, attitudes in Japan has changed from late 80s-early 90s, especially towards what counts as a "good protagonist". Post NGE and FFVII most anime protagonists have been broodning at best.
By the way, MAD also made Last Order Final Fantasy VII and a good amount of angst-ridden CLAMP work. Do not judge them by one series.

@Goronian I'm not judging them on that alone, I'm judging them on their other works, like on Gotham Knight (The Deadshot Story) among others. Sure they have worked on the likes of X for CLAMP, also look at the fact they've worked on things such as Trigun, Black Lagoon, Hellsing and the Hulk vs stuff.
And whilst yes, post NGE nearly everyone in anime is a whiny faggot, there are still those where characters are actually cool. Don't judge the whole because the emo's jumped on the band wagon. :P
