Still blows me away, even after listening to it for 40 years! Jones' bass is still amazing, clean, round, and just the right swagger. Listen at 3:10 and 4:35, even the God Jimmy just supports him.

@maf5454 just realize : they are the BEST of the BEST , the golden age of rockmusic is definetley gone , and Led Zeppelin where the ABSOLUTE gods of these area , because NO fail album ,the MOST brilliant live performances (the concerts are mostly better than the recordings ,and the fact , that we had 4 ABSOLUTE genius musician , the line up NEVER changed , no other band had a bigger Kult -Factor , nearly 350 000 000 sold Lps ..(for example : metallica has "only" 100 000 000).

@ThrashRoC Yeah i agree with you, however i think Jimmy Page isnt the best, he was too demanding and like 90% of his songs are in E minor pentatonic. And his solos are normally are in a blues scale

he plays much in e-pentatonic , but with much differences in the voicings , and the riffs and licks he created are today a BIG chapter in the book of rock , he is the master of repeating patterns and NObody bend notes like him ..

than , the fact that the songs he wrote for zeppelin are all great in a commercial , BUT also in a very artistic way .

I think every member was equally important. The driving power of Bonzo's drums, JPJ's funky bass grooves, Page's whicked guitar licks, and Plant's unmistakable pipes. Take away any one of them and its just run of the mill rock and no one would have remembered it

I love all 4 members of the band, and I'm always more of a fan of instrument than vocals, but after reading through several pages of Zep comments on YouTube, I've noticed that noone mentions that there is not a soul on earth that vocally can command this band other than Robert Plant. Put ANYONE else behind the microphone and it simply would not work and would not matter.

@sam380149 true is both Jimi and Jimmy covered this song from Howlin' Wolf's «Killing Floor». While Hendrix kept the title, Zepp went futher and renamed it «Lemon Song». I think LZ paid tribute to the blues musicians with this song, taking lyrics from Robert Johnson and Blind Lemon Jefferson, (hence the Lemon in the title.)
