This is perfect for beginners. I'm using a mobile device right now so I can't see all your videos. But, would you mind doing a video explaining a traffic light controller based solely on NAND and NOR gates? Thanks a lot! 2 directions and 2 traffic detectors. No yellows.
@BinaryTutor no timers, just to keep complexity down. Consists of 16 different output combinations from 2 pairs of traffic detectors and two pairs of lights. two North South, two East West.
@xshalludiex Please forgive my failure of imagination here. As a licensed driver of many decades, I have quite a lot of experience negotiating traffic lights. Please describe how one with no time delays should work...
@xshalludiex Its really a theoretical design. It would never be used in a real life situation. I'm just looking for a model that simply illustrates the construction of a circuit table for a simply traffic light controller. Anything that you feel comfortable designing that wont take too much time. Thanks alot again.
@VanMedia There are many ways a logic gate can be built for real -- discrete transistors, vacuum tubes, relays. Go to a Radio Shack store and ask the clerk for their cool digital logic science kit. It has all the devices needed for many fascinating projects including detailed instructions for wiring them up. Multimedia Logic is great, but hands on experience with a science kit is -- well -- priceless...
@krishkishore100 hexadecimal uses digits 0 - 9 and letters A - F like this: 0=0000,1=0001,2=0010,3=0011,4=0100,5=0101,6=0110,7=0111, 8=1000,9=1001,A=1010,B=1011,C=1100,D=1101,E=1110,F=1111 Octal uses just the first 8 digits like this: 0=000,1=001,2=010,3=011,4=100,5=101,6=110,7=111 So, an octal number like 4263 in binary looks like this: 4 2 6 3 100 010 110 011 Regrouping from right to left: 1000 1011 0011 You get: 8B3 Simple, eh?
Yeah -- really. Not a bad browser, actually, especially since the worlds most popular OS has it loaded by default. (Please note that I said "popular," not necessarily "best.") Most users have no clue how to upgrade to a better browser like Firefox or Chrome or Opera. When I build a JavaScript production, I want it to run under IE as well as the other, better browsers.
I assume that your comment is directed at my use of IE for my logo. I used IE because it allows me to access COM objects such as the Window Media Player, something I didn't know how to do under the other, better browsers. I needed Window Media Player to play the sound track in sync with the flying ones and zeros.
@Martyj2009 Ummm...Me prefers "working-ware" over "vapor-ware." Since I'm a trailing-edge kind of guy, the versions of IE and Firefox I use don't support the audio tag. Besides, it looks like HTML5 has quite a bit to go before it replaces HTML4 as King of the Hill.
they only make bilions of decisions in one second other than in no time because if a cpu worked with a superfast clock it would just overhea. thats why we have clocks... to only alow a certain amount of data through at a time
Yes, overclocking a CPU will cause it to heat up and possibly burn up. But I only took a few seconds to make a general point and so did not say everything that could be said about this topic.
My first computer was a KIM-1 with a 1Mhz clock. This limit was imposed mostly by the 2102 static RAM chips that was it's memory system and the 6502 CPU itself. The laptop I am writing this post on runs at 1.79 GHz -- over a thousand times faster. Tomorrow's computers will run even faster than that.
However, while I've managed to master a dozen computer languages in my time, the only human language I've been able to master is English.
If this guy can't understand English, it's a lost cause...Unfortunately, I haven't the time to help anyone who can't at least ask a coherent question in the one language I understand.

@xshalludiex Tell me more about how the traffic detectors work. Are there timers involved?

What program is this you are using to demonstrate?
anikid0392 4 months ago
@anikid0392 It's called, "Multimedia Logic." It is a free program you can download from the Internet.

@BinaryTutor Thank you.

@BinaryTutor how does one make a logic gate in real life? or can you just buy logic gates by iteself and use it?

You can do the same function of an "Or Gate" with an "And Gate" and an "Invert Gate".
Great Video! :)

@JimmyFox01 Indeed, it is called "De Morgan's Theorem" which states: not (not A or not B) equals A and B;
also, not (not A and not B) equals A or B.
This principle is demonstrated in the last part of Tutorial 3.
Thank you for your comments.

Well in that case it's alright. Now you can use HTML5.

So, how can HTML5 help me in this case?

@BinaryTutor HTML5 with the audio tag. Google "html5 audio javascript"
