  • I was extremely angry that Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, and several other actors weren't nominated for an Academy Award :(

  • I saw it four times in three weeks. And I cried every time. I don't usually cry for movies. But this one was brilliant.

And I agree on the favorites thing. 1,2 and 7.2 were the best. I liked 4 the least, which might have something to do with all actors suddenly having long hair.

  • I can't get over how they aged Ginny. It was horrific.

  • @BeatlesBabe564 Or how Ron had a beer belly...

  • Just thought I'd say that i found the voldermort feeling the horcruxes dying effective to a point because he was aware of their danger - however it was confusing because wouldn't he have felt the part of him that was in harry die as well if that was the case? overall a good film but never as good as the book - the best book of the series in my opinion.

  • What I hated was that Neville doesn't say his iconic line! I was waiting for him to say "I'll join you when hell freezes over!" and it didn't happen... :/

  • for me the only part i absolutely hated was when harry finally defeats Voldemort, and it's all glorious and what-not, but then harry catches the wand in the air and it's just like...CRINGE. soo corny. and in a bad way.

but the rest of the film was brilliant. i was in tears for most of it.

  • OMG. I hate that they cut out almost the whole Fred and George thing, especially when Percy tells the joke and Fred dies. And the whole reaction of the Weasleys... AND the taunting that Bellatrix throws at Molly about Fred's death, not just Ginny's fight with her. I love Fred too much to let the neglect of Fred and George go without voice. :( Also... Neville. I totally thought that they were going to cut out his moment. I don't think that that was necessary to almost cut him out. Oh, Yeah!

  • @owlssayhooot Also did you notice that in the epilogue, when their kids were going away on the train, they used the same Theme song as they did at the end of the first film when Harry was going back to the dursley's after his first year at Hogwarts! I cried sooooo hard when I heard it! It was so nostalgic and sweet.

  • @owlssayhooot I agree with everything you said except for the part when Harry grabs voldomort and falls, I personally thought it brought a lot more intensity to the battle. One thing I don't really think I liked was that Harry told Ron and hermione that he was going to die, in the film. I personally thought it just didn't seem like "Harry" to do that, also they didnt even really seem to make any arguments against it.

  • @owlssayhooot They could have made a few changes which would have made the final movie better. They could have kept the scene with The Weasley's and Percy

, had everyone meet in the Great Hall

    , had Harry Cloak himself

, have timed everything out as it was in the book, dropped the scene with them jumping off the Cliff (Where did that come from)

, kept the Battle in the Great Hall with everyone watching

, and hired different people to play the older versions of the Character's

  • I would have completely loved the film if they hadn't missed out one thing:

    DUMBLEDORE AND GRINDELWALD :(

  • i pretty much agree with you on everything, except i wish that they had included more of the epilogue, like some of ron's lines from the book.

  • I thought the epilogue was PERFECT. And I also thought that the creepy ... thing ... that was under the bench in "King's Cross" was exactly how I pictured it.

  • I'm going to be Mrs. Grint.......<3

  • I'm not much of a fan so I haven't read the book but I liked the film. I like to think that Snape was Harry's real dad, especially since after James treated him the way he did.

  • *sees.

  • Did anyone else notice when Harry opened his eyes near the end after he dies, that George turns around and you see him mouth 'Hey Fred' when he nieces Harry's alive?

  • I made it all the way through! J.s I agree with all of the things you said :D

  • I waited to watch this video untill now. But I just came back from the cinema and the last movie (oh my so sad and beautiful). And watching this was on the top of my list over "things to do after watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2" You are awesome!

  • Great video, and i agreed with most of what you said :)

  • did u get a perm or do you normally straighten ur hair?

  • I've never been a big fan of the films since I've always been that person sitting there pointing out and saying "that's different from the books".

It is really hard for a film based on a book to stand on it's own, but I think it's been even harder for the HP films since That many people love these books and every fan has their own favourite moment and scenes they've imagined inside they minds, which makes it impossible to satisfy everyone.

So what I'm trying to say is that I was not satisfied.

  • I feel as though starting with the fourth film, it was decided that fans of the books would come to see the movies no matter what, and that they should instead focus their attention on getting people who don't read the books to come. The result has been action over emotion. I went to the theater thinking that I would sob, but all the differences between this and the book just angered me. I got into the car and went on a rant of everything I hated. It could have been much better.

  • @thatkidplayingsoccer Same here, I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to see the movie because of tears clouding my eyes, which was miles from actually happening when I was watching the movie.

The books will always be the best

  • Alan Rickman.......That is all.

  • in the epilogue, i was kind of sad they missed out ron's line when he says, "It's me, i'm really famous", to his kids.

  • fred's death will be in the deleted scenes.

  • i didn't like Alan Rickman's performance, i felt it was kind of dry, and when he was crying over Lily, it was so unbelievable.

  • @youcancallmenora Seriously? You're insane. I'm sorry and you are TOTALLY allowed to have an opinion but you're insane.

  • @youcancallmenora I liked him over all but I agree w/ you about the Lily thing. Or it might just be me being a bit of a germaphob. But when it shows him holding her and crying my first thought was " ew! that's a dead lady!" lol I thought his death scene was really good tho.

  • @MyPurseBilly yeah I liked how he was in his death scene. The rest... meh.

  • I've seen it five times and I was bawling everytime.

  • I didn't like the tears...it just kinda made it corny.

  • I just started watching ur vids. You are awesome.

  • i think a slower pace would have been A LOT better. I was disappointed a bit with part 2. I love part 1, so maybe my expectations was blown out of proportion. All the book fans I know were deeply disappointed too.

  • Your review captured a lot of my annoyances and loves of the film as well. But i think it was just too fast. I think it glazed over the emotional bits that made me really recognize the characters. Fred's smile when he died. Percy's redemption. Dumbledore's guilt over failing to tell Harry the truth (which made him so much more human after the pedastal we put him on because of harry's characterization), I love the film i think it was brilliant but it could have been better

  • When i first watched it i really didn't like the whole voldemort death scene, but after I saw it a second time i didn't mind it too much. One thing I wished they put in but I realized was abit irrevelvant to the movie was the whole Dumbeldore explanation at Kings Cross, that always stuck with me after I read it... But apart from that i loved it and thought it was the best one out of the series :)

  • Oh i pretty much agreed with everything you said. i'm so jealous you got the chance to see it at Leakycon and meet and talk with Evanna and everything. Wow okay

  • Was I the only one sobbing when Remus and Tonks die?

  • @MsGreenrubberducky In the book I did but not in the movie. They never even go into Teddy we're just left to assume they had a son because of Harry's one line to Remus when he is holding the ressurection stone

  • i really enjoyed the film. i loved the fight between molly and bellatrix. i sobbed just like everybody else at the cinema but the one thing that i really wanted to be in the film was at the end when harry touched his scar i was waiting the whole film for it to happen and i was so annoyed that it didnt happen!!!!

  • Even though I've only seen one Harry Potter when I was in year two, I still enjoyed this video. :L

  • Comment removed

  • here's my input:

    1. I thought Voldemort walking through gringotts and stepping on the blood of the dead goblins was the scariest thing ever. so well done

    2. The Grey Lady scene was perfect and had its own atmosphere (and she was so pretty!)

    3. Hogwarts in ruins was so heartbreaking and powerful, it was horrible seeing it like that during the battle

    4. I think Fred's death deserved more, but it was still devastating.

    5. omigod the bloody fetus type thing that a piece of voldemort's soul ughhh

  • My biggest beef with the movie was the fact that the Hallows was almost completely left out. In the King's Cross scene, Dumbledore and Harry didn't spoke about why Harry could return from the dead. There was no mention of the fact that Harry was the master of death. And the sad thing was that they introduced the master of death plot in the beginning with Ollivander, but still didn't use it. It bothered me quite much. But overall I loved it and can't wait to see it again :)

  • Oh, and I laste through the whole thing. ;)

  • I agree with EVERYTHING you say about the film, except for the 19 years later part in the film. I think they just didn't make it the way the book made it! Everyone has their own oppinion, but I just didn't feel the same way while watching it as I did reading it (as I felt this way for most of the film). This is one of the best reveiws I have seen people post. So great job! I do agree with you! :) x

  • I've seen the movie twice too, cried like a little baby on both occasions :) I would have loved to see the Ravenclaw commonroom scene, that was the one that I was looking forward to the most so I was pretty bummed that they include it. I didn't really like Harry's and Voldermort's final battle, I think that it was too different from the book and lacked the original idea. Overall I loved it, I think it worked well and I can see why they left out some parts. So sad that it's over </3 <3

  • every Harry Potter review you do, i always agree with everything you say! about Fred's death and the moment with Percy, i really wanted everyone to be around Harry and Voldemort for the duel and for Harry to explain how he was the true owner of the Elder wand. And i didn't understand why he didn't fix his wand with it, and he didn't talk to Dumbledore's portrait. And despite all this, i loved it! i think it's my favourite one. I cried the whole time, it was amazing!

  • i have to say that i'd give this movie about an 8. i understand the purpose of cutting parts of the book for issues with time and making it cinematic, and sometimes that worked, but some things were a bit too much: they could have cut the whole harry grabbing voldemort bit in exchange for fred's death or something else. I also think that the prince's tale was cut short a bit too much and ron / hermione's kiss was surprisingly spontaneous in my opinion. A good film, but the book triumphs.

  • I was disapointed that they missed out the fact that voldemort couldn't kill anyone at Hogwarts afterwards because Harry had 'died' for them and so they were protected by Harry like Harry was by his parents.

  • If i were to review the movie as a whole i would run out of comment space. However.. i never cry in movies.. or maybe sometimes i do but it takes a lot to make me cry and in the deathly hallows part 2 when i started crying i didnt stop. and when i left the cinema i tried to look decent and then i saw my friends and they were like.. "were you crying? is it that emotional? dont cry" And then the floods of tears returned... Thank you JK Rowling for giving me my childhood.

  • It was amazing. I completely agree that the whole voldemort flying around thing was ridiculous.

The first time I went to see it from the fred scene to the end I spent the rest of the film sobbing, i dont think i could ever explain why. Then i could't leave the cinema because I just couldn't stop.

Im sad it's over but i thoroughly enjoyed the ending. Have you registered for pottermore??

    x

  • I was surprised by how much it got to me, and for some reason the part that made me collapse in tears was when Harry was talking to ghost Lupin about his son. As much as I loved Snape's death scene, I felt it should've been in the Shrieking Shack and I couldn't help but think of Lord Sugar saying "With regret, you're fired."

  • I really wanted them to circle around eachother, and I wanted everyone to cheer at the end as well. And I also didn't like how he broke the Elder Wand. And I've never liked Ginny..

But it was still amazing though nonetheless!

  • loved it.I've never been really obsessed with harry potter, but I recognize that it's a big deal to a lot of people. This was definitely the best HP film, and I think that it ranks pretty high up there as far as famous book to movie films go.

It gives me hope that maybe there's a slight bit of a chance that Red Eagle Entertainment will do justice to then Wheel of Time.

  • What I hated? Lily's Eyes were Not the same color as Harry's.

  • Comment removed

  • @starlitt35 Yea i liked how they kept pretending they were the same hoping the fans wouldn't notice. And i guess not caring when they did. lol

  • Alan Rickman has to get every award. Best Supporting Actor. Best Actor. Best Costume. Best Special Effects. Best Alan Rickman...

  • @verymagicalme Exactly! He should have an award in his name.

  • It bugged me SO much how Harry didn't have that scene with Neville when he was going off to die and how instead he told Ron and Hermione and they just LET HIM GO. Except when Hermione's voice cracked and was "I'll go with you!" I started crying sooo hard.

  • Your hair...

  • I completely agree, if there was something I didn't agree with I fogot.. because it was so long

  • i definitely made it all the way through... what a perfect review! i share so many of your ideas so it was so great to hear someone articulate them so well :)

  • What did the elder wand scene add to the film? I didn’t think it was needed.

  • The films never really addressed the whole Percy thing. It would have been out of place to include it.

  • A couple things I wish I could have seen in the movie:

I know this is in part 1 but in part 1 they should have added Dudley saying you're not a waste of space to Harry.

I also wish they could have shown Percy's death. I can't remember if they showed Percy. But I really thought that if they showed how Percy came back and fought back and his family forgiving Percy for being...well....Percy.

  • @meipandafan It was Fred's death not Percy's

  • When I was wathcing the opening seen as soon as I saw snape I started crying

  • what happened to dumbledores back story??? jamie campbell bower was supposed to be in it1 D:

  • * inane comment alert* I like your hair

  • It did the book good justice- I love how the whole thing played out over two days :) the locations were great but I hated the fact Harry and voldemort were alone. He'd just have to stroll back in like "hey, jobs done guys." but agreed that this is my favourite after 1 + 2 (:

  • I felt the about many of the points you made including the snapping of the elder wand, and the memories from snape's tears. for me the death of voldemort was very anticlimactic and i didnt get that same feel good sense i thought should have been there.

  • the entire time i was watching this video i was screaming EXACTLY!

    1) alan rickman was amazing. snape and lily made me sob

    2) i loved maggie smith. she was amazingly badass and just acted really well.

    3) i didn't like how they cut out the whole percy story. yes, i understand that it goes back two books but it would have been nice.

    4) when they go to hogsmeade its winter. the next morning it's summer. bothersome.

    5) and then harry was like the other night at malfoy manor when it was months ago.

  • okay. neville was amazing. and seamus. so was he. in the few scenes he was in i was extremely impressed. WHERE WAS PERCY? that was my favorite part and they just completely ruined it. i liked the tonks and lupin hand holding thing though. i loved it. i was a little upset that they didnt include teddy in it at all, especially in the epilogue. i loved him and victoire. i thought it was awesome. i also happened to be sobbing throughout the entire film. and they did an excellent job. well done.

  • 1. I made it all the way through.. :P

    2. Neville was not done justice, and Alan Rickman was amazing! Also, I missed Fred's death, and Harry not fixing his own wand before breaking the Elder Wand bothered me..

  • neville was not done justice. i loved the transformation in the books from the dull, forgetful frightened child up to the warrior and such a powerful character who i myself felt more with.

for me percy needed the redemption, for it to be left unresolved in the film made my weasley family with a hole (percy needed to join the mourning to bring them back)

harrys wand needed to be fixed for me because it symbolised to me, him wanting to be himself. not the chosen one, just a normal wizard.

  • I enjoyed the fact that Albus Severus had a pet ferret. I burst out laughing (because, of course, when Moody turned Draco into a ferret in GoF). It may or may not have been intentional, but if it was intentional, then that was brilliant.

The rest of the movie was so, so lovely. I agree with almost everything you've said.

  • i agree with pretty much everything you've said. but some bits that you didn't mention.

firstly, any shot of Hogwarts or it's barriers being destroyed got me emotional. Lavender Brown's death got me emotional as well, her death was just brutal.

and Voldemort at King's Cross was so disgusting it was perfect.

  • for the first time since the philosopher's stone this film did the book proud

  • Its funny how you said that harry not being spotted in the crowd was a little unrealistic when if you think about it, nothing in Harry Potter is realistic.

  • Love that you did such a long review on this :-)

All in all I really liked the movie. A bunch of things bothered me, but in general just a fantastic movie.

    So many great moments!!

Also, I'm glad I got to say hi to you at LeakyCon :-)

  • McGonagall was my absolute favourite in this film. I found the "man the boundaries" part with the suits of armour so moving, and also when she pushes Harry aside in the Great Hall to duel with Snape. I love her.

  • I went to see the deathly hallows dressed up as mad eye moody with my friends, even though my friends didn't seem to be as keen to dress up as I was they still made the least of efforts to put on a costume.

The moment were Harry grabs Voldemort and jumps off the building... -It was awkward.

  • I saw it for the third time last night with my friends who I met through Harry Potter. It was just... us four being together, that being the reason for us knowing each other, we all broke down by the time it got to the epilogue. The first two times I saw it, I made it through, barely, but with them... I just couldn't. And I can't think of a better reason to cry.

  • When it comes to the snapping of the Elder Wand, I don't think Hagrid gave Harry the moleskin bag in the movie, so everything that Harry owned was in Hermione's beaded bag, so I doubt Harry had his wand at the end of the movie.

I agree with most of what you said. the main things that I didn't like in the movie were The Prince's Tale, The Flaw in the Plan, and that the Slytherins went to the dungeons.

I would elaborate more, but I'm running out of room. :c

  • The Flaw in the Plan is such a terrific chapter! That definitely was my biggest disappointment. It was just so suspenseful and beautiful, I was sad to see it cut in the movie. Especially because it's the shortest movie in the history of the franchise, so they could have added it in! I've always shipped Neville/Luna because Neville's so shy and unsure and Luna is just bursting with personality and confidence. I wish Percy's redemption was there because he's such a complicated, complex character.

  • And this journey will never end. As long as we let our imagination! And as we all know and never forget:

"Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it" and "Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home"

  • It was great, i couldn't help but crying. Just the last scene where they stood together after breaking the wand could be better. But still, it was easy to feel that emotions! All those battles! They were so good! I thank to JK Rowling! She has written such a good story that as people from all around the world, we raised together with it, we experienced the beauty of childhood, the beauty of experiencing the same troubles and finding the encourage.

  • The film was so good. All the Snape's story, Dumbledore's farewell (one of my favourite scores) playing in the end of it, the scenes were they began to protect the castle, how everyone was trying their best, Neville's speech, Dumbledore's words, Mcgonagall saying "Voldemort", i can say every scene was brilliant!

  • I'm sad that Voldemort was just ripped to pieces instead of dying normally like the mortal he had become.

  • I loooved The Prince Tale !!! It was so good. Cried so much!

I think Albus should have said sorry to Harry!

Harry Potter and Voldemort's chase scene was a bit... long and... to much...

    But the film was awesome!

  • Uh trying to think of what to put in this comment. It's hard- discussing the movie. I agree on pretty much everything you said, but I cracked when snape was killed and throughout the prince's tale cause I am a huge snape fan. It almost killed me when It didnt have him repairing his wand and talking to dumbledore's portrait because I loved that scene in the books. Only bad thing I will say was the gray lady, I just didnt like it because one minute she was shy and the next wasn't. Anything extra

  • I could blab on foever abot what I did and didnt like, but the thing that I really hate was vildemorts actual death..the way he just sort of diaintergrates...i would have much prefered to see him dead in one peice

  • I really enjoyed the film which is saying a lot as I haven't exactly like them since the first couple. However, I didn't like the Ron-Harry relationship in the movie; the way it appeared as though they weren't friends. Like Harry tells Ron and Hermione that he's going to go face Voldemort, Hermione cries and hugs Harry but Ron just sort of stands back and doesn't say anything. Apart from that I thought the movie was great.

  • So I've been sort of dreading watching this video because of the time stamp, but you really captivated me! The way you talk about film is simply amazing. Great video. (:

  • I was really hoping that the credits would be awesome, like PoA. So I sat there... waited... and nothing happened. For me, that kind of ruined the ending.

But I did love the film as a whole. So much.

  • ah, i was SO looking forward to the scene with Harry and Voldemort circling each other! i was really disappointed that they didn't put that in. i also wasn't a fan of the whole breaking the wand. buuut, it was a good movie in general:P i guess i was just a bit too attached to the book after just having finished it the day i saw the movie. lol

  • I have too much to say. First off, Neville. I really think Matthew Lewis made such an AMAZING Neville, both because he had physically grown up so handsome and his acting was brilliant. I had never really fangirled for hp boys but Neville is an exception. And o really love N/L. Love as in, as some as I got home I looked at fanfiction for the first time in my life. Did you like Neville?

  • I felt like that whole Harry grabs Voldemort scene was done for 3D. It was very strange.

  • I love how you can just tell how much you love Harry potter by how you talk about it all. And I agree that it was a fantastic film. I was crying like a baby all 4 times I've seen it so far. Also, your hair looks very pretty in curls!

  • "That's my girlfriend you numpty!!!"

  • The epilogue was the one thing I had been waiting to see on film since I read the books. It was awesome. I agree that the aging was weird, but I loved that they were all happily ever after and whatnot. As soon as the King's Cross scene came on I was like, "So, we're in an Apple store now?" I didn't like the blinding light, but I suppose it was good in the sense that they were at a location that was so important to Harry's past, and it wasn't too distracting. Overall, I LOVED the movie. , :)

  • I really loved the movie, I mean it was FANTASTIC, but I didn't like the fact that Young Lily didn't have green eyes, and like you said, that Harry didn't fiz his own wand before breaking the Elder wand. AND ALBUS SEVERUS'S HAIR. But otherwise I loved it,it's probably my second favourite after PoA :3

  • @ohhijoanna I KNOW! As soon as I saw young Lily, I was like, "WHY AREN'T HER EYES GREEN?" They made that such a big deal in the other movies with everyone telling Harry, "You have your mothers eyes," and then, THEY DON"T PUT IT IN THERE? Absurd.

  • I like PS and CoS better, but DH Part 2 was definitely the David Yates best film. The filming was beautiful, the plot moved along well, they left in some great lines from the book. Yeah, the messed up a few things (Fix your wand first, Harry!), but overall it was great, and I feel like it did the series and the fandom justice.

  • i loved the movie so much!!!! the whole thing was just amazing andit is only the 2nd film ever to have made me cry. Harry Potter really has been my childhood as the first book came out when i was 2 and i remember my mum reading it to me every night :) i'm just so sad that its over but i think they made it so well and it was an amazing end to my childhood!

  • Comment removed

  • I liked it except for the Draco hug, and the weird Harry and TR (Tom riddle) falling thru the air thing. Also I didn't leave feeling a fit to the deathly hallows like I did in the book, I felt like things didn't fully connect them together. Does anyone kno what I mean?

  • The last movie went too fast for me. I walked to my car after watching it at midnight and I remember sitting there, along with a few other friends, in complete silence for nearly fifteen minutes. We all couldn't believe it was over : (

  • I really really loved this film. There were so many amazing moments, my favourite being the prince's tale - I cried so much. That being said there were a few things I didn't like, my least favourite like you, was the weird harry/voldy falling scene.

If I could only change one thing about the film though, it would be the inclusion of the line "Try for a little remorse". It was such a powerful moment in the book, and I think it was a shame to have it left out.

  • @xxStephyStellar I agree, that line was such a huge lesson.

  • Two things i wish had been included: "levicorpus" in the gringotts scene (i know, i'm picky) and fred's death scene.

and i, too, was blown away by alan rickman's performance. like, i knew he was amazing already.... but he was more... wow.

I didn't really like how Voldemort felt the Horcruxes. At all.

And I noticed the basilisk flesh thing, and it bothered me.

I wanted Neville's "I'll join you when hell freezes over--Dumbledore's Army!"

And I wanted the Great Hall scene at the end.

  • You make me want to read these.

  • @FRAYEDjade They're amazing books!

  • SPOILERS

i pretty much cried from the battle of hogwarts until harry's death and so did all of my friends, my childhood is over and the film did so much justice to the book i think, especially the snape scenes, i thought that was done better than the book, or rather it affected me a lot more than in the book. we saw it at the london imax day of release in our wizard robes. it saddens me but it was fucking awesome

  • THATS MY GIRLFRIEND MY NUMPTIES 4:35

  • I just saw the movie for the first time with my friend, who had seen it before but I was on vacation, and I absolutely adored it and I of course cried and am terribly sad it's over, but am so glad it went out with such a fantastic movie. I watched this right after coming home and I agree with pretty much every single thing you said xD you were spot on with everything. Oh man. xD I'm still just in like 'after movie' mode, freaking out.

  • Did you perm your hair or is it naturally like that? It looks really good!

  • I loved the movie. I saw it last night for the first time and I read the book two and a half years ago(I know I really need to read them again). A big problem for me is that I have a horrible memory, so I didn't remember the book at all to compare it to the movie. I do agree with all of what you said though. I cried almost three times during the film, during Snape's memories, almost when Fred died, and when everyone had thought that Harry was dead. Overall i thought it was fantastic.

  • Harry should have fixed his wand! I was really disappointed he didn't. I wish they would have had the Percy scene, but I can't remember how relevant he was in the other movies. I really liked it in the book though. I thought the Harry/Voldemort fight scene was not that great, it would have been better if everyone was watching, instead they were kind of off in their own little corner. I wish Neville had seemed stronger, like he was in the book. Overall though, great movie

  • @agentkoren The fixing his wand thing (not having it, I mean) REALLY bothered me... I mean it's a plot line completely left unsolved.

  • Voldemort wasn't intimidating in the film because of the cringe-worthy humour shoved in. Neville's speech was awful.

I like Alan Rickman (in anything and in this film) but this film didn't make it clear enough how hard he worked to be (or at least do) good. I truly feel he is the real hero of the story because, although his motives aren't 'pure', this ambiguity gives his character more depth; that he never felt the need to justify himself to anyone showed his true strength.

    Preferred part 1.

  • I agree with you on so many things, I certainly didn't get what I wanted from the ending. Thanks for the review, was excellent. Welcome to Adulthood.

  • Agreee so much.

Really wished they put that part in where Harry fixes his wand though...

I think the epilogue at the end completes the story and allows us to imagine what happens to their children? Which is kinda cool. And it's weird because a small part of me always wants to believe Hogwarts actually exists? Yeah maybe I'm lame. :')

  • I agree with pretty much everything you said.

I cried SO MUCH when Fred died! Fred and George were my favourite characters. You can't tear them apart. You just can't!

  • I agree with you on pretty much every point. I also loved the epilogue even though I didn't like it in the book, but maybe that's just because, after all this time, I'm finally ready for it. It felt like closure, this time.

  • I was a little disappointed with the "not my daughter" moment. I was looking forward to it so much and I don't know what I expected but I don't know, the whole Molly/bellatrix thing was over in like 5 seconds.

  • @catherineeeeexo

Yeah I agree, I'm glad they had the exact wording, but it was way too short.

  • I love your reviews so much.

  • To be honest, I loved all the movies! yeah, they did things a little different to what I had imagined but on the whole I was happy with all of them. It must have been hard to convey everything that Jo wrote into the movies but it was done really well. I just love harry potter. so much

  • Even though a lot of people hated it and thought it was corny in the book, I would've really liked the last line from the book to be the last line of the movie ya know? After the epilogue faded away, I really wished it had just said, "And all was well." It would've just tied it up nicely for me. But I really enjoyed the film a lot, more than I expected that's for sure. :D

  • @BeeVeeStudios Agreed, that would have been epic.

  • I honestly think all of the scenes with Snape where my favorite. I just fell in love with the character even more then I did in the books. Being able to see it all played out in front of me and so well too. But, I felt that way through the whole movie. Let's just say I started crying when the WB logo came up at the beginning and I didn't stop until the credits.

  • In the film the resurrection stone seems to serve no point. Is that following the book? The ending, standing on the bridge, needed more dialogue, it went out with a fizzle imo, and not a bang. I thought the flying throught hte air bit was good, although it was bit of a copy of gandalf and the balrog; the idea of wrestling with the devil.

  • @TheWomblemaster The resurrection stone brings people back, but only a shadow of them. It's what you see Harry doing in the forest when his mother & three of the marauders come back.

  • I really loved when Lily is "brough to life" by the stone and she's talking to Harry. I was crying.. also, when Harry leaves Ron and Hermione to go to the Forbidden Forrest was a very moving part for me too. However, i would have liked to see him walk through all of his friends and family and whatnot..but oh well.

And yes, that scene where Harry and Voldemort try to strangle each other.. actually Idk what they were doing but it was dumb. You have a wand for a reason, Harry.

  • Ahhhh finally someone agrees. I also LOVE the first two movies. They will always be my favorites. Most people think they're too long or not action-y enough but they really do convey that sense of magic like you said. But Deathly Hallows was outstanding as well. :)

  • All I can think of watching this is us sobbing. I need a rewatch to be more impartial.

  • I liked Nevilles speech at the end of the movie and I liked how the film showed how Harry decided not to go after the deathly gallows be dropping the stone and breaking the elder wand.

  • lol "it was unrealistic for me"

it's a book/film about magic, wizards, ghosts, dragons, flying on broom sticks, and a school for witchcraft

how is any of it realistic? hahaha

  • @HelloKaty14 I'm pretty sure she meant that it was uncharacteristic for the Order to do that.

  • @orillshaveitforlater I know. it was a joke.

  • When I was in the theater people were actually laughing at how harry looked 37 years old

  • I only started crying when I saw tonks and lupin lying on the cots dead, and again when lupin was shown with harry in the forest, theirs deaths have always been extremely heartbreaking to me, more so than others, it's just so devastating to think about the baby being alone, tonks and lupin have always been special to me, it's just so sad!

  • :-O the video is 11:11!!! quick. MAKE A WISH!!!

  • He didn't have his mother's eyes.

  • OMGGGGGGG I totally agree with you on the percy moment. That was my ONE big complaint about this movie

  • My only comment: The awkward moment when you don't have your mother's eyes.

  • Comment removed

  • (2/2) There were lots of little things that bothered me (and some big things like *ahem* the breaking of the wand), but overall: an excellent film. It succeeded in making me an emotional mess.

  • (1/2) Alan Rickman was brilliant. The Prince's Tale was a beautiful moment, and I love how they show Snape going into the Potters' house and holding Lily when he finds her. I was disappointed that they left out so much of Dumbledore's backstory, but I guess that would have felt a little out-of-place to people who hadn't read the books.

  • I loved that scene in the movie where it was evident that the death eaters broke the spell and were entering Hogwarts and you just saw everyone bracing themselves for the inevitable and the Lupin and Tonks just looked at each other and and held hands, it was so... perfect, (in my opinion) made up for the fact that they just cut Teddy out of the story, and it encompassed how everyone felt as the battle begun and , so it was just beautiful.

I've run out of space for my other opinions now so.. :'(

  • I honestly liked the movie but I feel like it was a little too rushed. I wish that Fred's death was shown. I didn't like that it was just cut to the scene and the Weasleys were gathered around him and Lupin and Tonks were dead, I wish they did a little more with that. With the movie being rather dark, I feel like Voldemort was acting odd and it was sometimes kinda funny at the things he did and the noises he made, and I feel like i couldn't take him as seriously as the other movies.

  • I love how casually you say 'I'm was talking to Evanna Lynch...'

  • I really wanted Fred's death in the movie more. They made it a side note and that really bugged me.

  • I HATED the Voldemort laugh. It ruined the moment. Sure, I laughed like crazy, because it so awkward and all, but God it ruined it for me. I couldn't take Voldemort as seriously as I did before for the rest of the film. :(

  • I thought that the film was really good and beautifully done but I agree that the final confrontation with Voldemort slightly ruined the film. I much preferred when Harry explains that he ws willing to die for his friends and that means they're protected. i thought that was much better because Dumbledore had always said that he didnt understand the magic of love, but thats just my opinion. :D

  • I completely agree. This movie was well done, but like i was discussing with my friend, They left so much out of the movie that was in the book!! I would have loved to see Luna's room, like i was so looking forward to it (i know thats in the first part, but im talking about Deathly Hallows part one and two.) And Dumbledore's FUNERAL! How do you leave something so vital like it was out?? And Peeves!!! AND!!! Peter Pettigrew's Death!! I really wishes these wouldve been included!! just my opinion.

  • I want Rickman to be nominated 2! A small animal will be hurt if I don't get my way

  • I totally agree with all that, but with more emphasis on Neville. When I was reading the book, the scene where Neville chops off Nagini's head was what I wanted to see on the screen the most, and because of that anticipation factor, I think the fact that they didn't capture that moment more accurately ruined the whole movie for me. I really enjoyed it until that point, but after that all I could think of was how my favorite moment in the series had been butchered.

  • i agree with u 100%
