Hondagoal: MLK's assassin was arrested and prosecuted. Convicted, too. However, the King family has extended forgiveness and has even pressed for this man's release from prison. Whether that's out of profound Christian forgiveness or because they think that he's innocent based on the evidence, I'm not sure.

James Earl Ray was arrested, prosecuted and convicted of the murder of Martin Luther King. MLK's survivors have extended forgiveness and lobbied for Ray's release. Whether they do this out of profound Christian forgiveness or because they think he is innocent based on the courtroom evidence, I'm not sure. But justice has laid its claim for the death of this noble martyr.
