  • In the Fall of 1984 (can't remember the exact date now)... Global tv in Toronto redesigned their news set and updated their equipment to be more modern. They set it up like CFTO toronto ... Local news program was separate from the program that carried national and international news.

  • It's strange how difficult it is to find any information about him online.

  • He left Global to work for World Vision, and actually appeared on Global's World Vision infomercial for awhile. No idea what he's doing now.

  • I can't understand why they had three newscasts. One at 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30.

  • I think at the time they were trying to get at having a different newscast for everyone. 5:30 was more focused on entertainment news alongside the major news of the day, 6:00 was a more conventional newscast with more in-depth reporting and reported news from around Ontario, as well as sports and weather. 6:30 was focused on national/international news. They moved slightly away from that format in 1988 but moved back to it in 1994, pretty much until Bob Macadorey's departure.

  • Wow...so back then, they'd put back to work legislation for community colleges, but they won't do anything now about garbage collection?

  • Kevin Newman will have a report on World Report...some things never change!
