The biggest problem in Brink, besides the terrible A.I of course, was that The Ark was not a big explorable area, but instead there were missions that made the game linear and short-lived. It would have been such a good game if The Ark was a sanbox and the missions were like events or so.

Mirror's Edge freerunning: hands and feet adapt to your surroundings, both hands actively apear as you run or climb, you can see your feet clearly to have more precise jumps. who is better now?

Video Games (Especially games like Mirror's Edge & Brink) are able to train your mind,if you're a traceur.They teach to coordinate your movements and they simulate the techniques.But most of the time,video games like Mirror's Edge got a very unrealistic physic.You can't do a 10 Meters Wallrun in Real-Life and you cant speed vault over a 2 meters high fence.

The ingame footage looks so shit it looks horribly clunky and unrealistic the hands dont even come into contact with stuff and they use their gun barrels to climb up yer fair play to them to try and make it fun and stuff but it just looks a bit like your just defying gravity rather than using it to your advantage

I personally prefer to practice rather than stay in front of a video game what do you do in fact many more Satis do that in a virtual reality ... especially if you want to reach certain levels ... Daniel is a great, it's always nice to see him in action as his fluid parkour is but many people before it closes rather than opens out to those games and try to reach those levels

@torfinho There are snipers, but the devs have VERY SPECIFICALLY eliminated any "one-hit kills" from the game. They talk about it in one of the promos, but I don't remember which one. Sort of on the same note, grenades are more a stun/knockdown tactic than they are lethal. It's interesting stuff, I'm looking forward to seeing if it comes together well as a game.

There may be more work over all, but there are so many people who work on each video game that the individual work is not as much as it takes to be as good as Daniel Ilabaca. (I do parkour, but I'm also a computer science major interning at a major game studio. I know what I'm talking about.)

@shad0wshrew The work put into our training, if we do it right, won't end until the day we die, because no matter how "good" we get, we'll always want to be better. The work put into a videogame will end after you're done making it. Like FluidityMK said, sitting at a computer trying to get the movements of characters in a videogame to work is different than going outside and repeating a certain movement until you don't feel your muscles anymore. Still, I'm a freerunner/traceur, and I want brink.

Both have been products of my training, and I've stopped giving a thought to whether I wanted to do one or the other when I can do both. It's not good to polarize people with "traceurs vs. freerunners", we should all just be trying to get along. After all, those are just titles and definitions; definitions cause silly arguments.

@JacobYParkes idk i mean its a good try they do a lot of cat leaps for climbing and u can see when he does vaults, u can see his hands as he uses his limbs to pass through whatever the environment so it can go either way. is it not a perfect parkour game no but its definately as close as u can get so far without going outside and seeing for yourself. they will get better in the future though i presume

@FUNHATPRODS Watching this, I'd still say Mirror's Edge is a way better Parkour game. Brink uses slides instead of rolls, and movement is very unrealistic. Mirror's Edge allowed you to utilize a lot of different techniques, like coiling, wall running, and it's timing was better. I saw the cat leap part of this vid and got pissed. You can't magicly instantly cat leap with incredible precision and flow like that guy in the game. At the same time I'll tell people to actually try it, it's fun real.
