  • love this..raw Tull!

  • They were an excellent Live band!

  • I think Ian was a little too stoned to remember his flute solos in this video.

Looks like he was having too much fun.

  • @maxquad21 he never did drugs ma man

  • @maxquad21

He looks quite calm and sober to me. I guess it took a while before he got his iconic extravagant showman act all worked out.

    Great video!

  • @AdrianMuravey I agree. I think he was just a bit insecure at this time.

  • also let me show you how far i can go

  • It's Ian anderson The Teacher!

  • I have liked them through listening to the radio. I was introduced to this by my friend. Thank You Rose. I enjoyed this as much as I do LZ. Thank You.

  • hiya I'm just a small town girl

  • Typical of bands back then to speed up their songs' rhythms so as to include longer bridges. This video differs somewhat from the US album release on Benefit. I wonder if pop-music companies will ever again allow artists to enjoy the lyrical and musical design they brought to light "back then"?

  • ppl who say they dislike are funny this is as good as music gets but they just have to click dislike to be different love ya anyway.

  • great video. i wish i was this cool

  • great video. i wish i was this cool

  • 24 people need an education

  • They don't write them like that anymore! Truth

  • @marvinc999 - well done!

  • @simonetti2007

    Leave the kid alone.

  • Love ya suit

I wanna buy a black n white, and buy some foul things.

The one below, licked the banana slug.

  • I'm 15 and I love this! Can't speak for any of my friggin class

  • Never heard this before. Cool. Wish the audio was better. Hurts my ears. Still gets a like. I love the old vids. 24 people can take a fly'n leap off a tall building.

  • I've loved JTull for longer than I can remember my dad has all of it and is a die-hard Tull fan so it was the music I grow up with I'm 16 and I've seen Tull three times and will listen till I die

  • Thanks for posting this and making me happy! I love it!

  • Real music by an awesome group!

  • Music like no other!!!

  • If it is music for pirates then I am a pirate...if you have never heard anything like it, then Ian Anderson would be proud.

  • What style of music is Jethro Tull? Music for pirates.

  • The Rasputin of Rock

  • VIVA o jethro tull

  • Hah, is this some kind of shout-out who's the youngest Tull listener? :oD

I saw them first time in my life last year, during their 40th anniversary tour. Kids, get a grab of them before it's too late! It's worth every penny...

  • @GeXeS ive liked them since i was 8, my dad is a huge fan and would always listen to them in the car. saw jtull twice , once at the OC fair and just caught them at the greek for the 40 aqualung tour, and i saw ian at the grove of anaheim. all epic shows!!!

im 21 now and will always love tull till i die

  • wtf? listen carefully and you will here the chord sequence used by KISS for Duece around 2:00

  • my work play classic rock on the radio ^^ and i get all excited when they play this song . soo good!

  • Lip sync...but not lame...

  • Damnit, I hate when someone says his/her age and then says "and I love this"

  • @Tullvideoclips Yeah in retrospect I probably could've phrased that a bit differently. Just trying to make a point about how forgotten songs like this are.

  • @maalbe987 That's ok. Keep listening to this stuff!

  • @Tullvideoclips i'm 19 and I love this

  • @busterbone LOL!

  • @Tullvideoclips i'm 31 and i love this

  • @Tullvideoclips im 16 and i love this

  • @Tullvideoclips i concur. good music is good music no matter the vintage

  • terrible

  • Ready, aim, fire, you moron.

  • no man was more against drugs and still is than ian . the man is high on life plus he is english and that makes him a little bit mad !

  • Respond to this video... bigrider 2806:- He's not English, he's Scottish and btw he was on the radio this morning sounding very English (quite posh) but talking about being Scottish. Superb music isn't it? I love the "insanity" of the early videos.

  • @ukmakeupjunkie He is English , he has lived in Scotland for a very long time , he owns a fish farm there .

  • This frickin song is so awesome. I also think JT is the most underrated band of all time.

  • back to school, the cameraman !!!!! What a shit ....

  • I'm 14 & I love this! Can't speak for about 80% of my class though. *sigh*

  • @maalbe987 Keep it going 14 - This is awesome toonage. The older tunes seem to outshine this "new" stuff. It is good in its own right though the old stuff seems to never get dull, or should I say "tull". I am 45.

  • @maalbe987 Hang in there kid! "To thine own self be true." Justin and Britney will be long forgotten while Tull keeps playing on and on.

  • @maalbe987 u aint 14 liar...but u is a propagandist piece of shit!...

  • @maalbe987 ...no worries mate, not everybody can be genius! Just treat them well, feed them, give them what they want...they'll start thinking, eventually.

  • @maalbe987 im 14 too and all the other kids like katy perry, lil wayne and other gay music what the fuck is a matter with society

  • @DaChicagoBear I know right? A lot of people have forgotten what talent is. I'm not saying there isn't any good music now, but that they don't get the respect & success they deserve. In Tull's time, pop music was just music that's popular, not music that's made to be popular.

  • @maalbe987

Hey, if that means that 20% of your class are into Tull, there's hope for the Planet yet !

  • @marvinc999 Haha so true!

  • @marvinc999 Well it's not like they're huge fans. Most of that 20% just heard Aqualung a couple times on the radio & kinda liked it.

  • I agree jethro tull unyielding professor of music, for the love of the game and solely so

  • @maalbe987 i´m 14 years too...this is real music..the music of today (ou of metal:D) have no soul..

  • @Undertaker6826 For the most part you're right. But there's still a ton of great bands now, and I think a lot of people (especially certain 40&50-somethings I've seen around this comment section) have forgotten that. Sometimes you gotta look outside the top 40 to get good music now. Ex: Cage the Elephant, Black Keys, Temper Trap, Strokes, Airborne Toxic Event, Killers, Muse, or anything with Jack White. While these artists are vastly popular in the mainstream, bad pop stars sell more. Why?!

  • @maalbe987 I don't know where you live mate, but in Australia nobody my age (17) even KNOWS of this music. In my entire life I've met about 15 people my generation who like bands like Sabbath, Zeppelin, The Doors, Hendrix, Floyd... So consider yourself lucky that 1/5 of your class likes good music, it's fucking rare to find!

  • @metallicka007 Well it's not like I conducted a survey or anything. And I think that what I meant by that 20% wasn't really that they're fans, but more that they've heard "Aqualung" a few times on the radio & kinda liked it. That statistic might've been a bit off. I think it was more around 90% that I can't speak for. Hopefully things will be better going into this next school year.

  • @maalbe987 That's still pretty damn good. People here don't even listen to anything good on the radio, they don't even know who John Lennon or Ozzy Osbourne are. They are in their own little worlds, a sad life of listening to shit 'music'. - I put music in apostrophes because you can't even classify that shit as music.

  • @metallicka007 Okay now that's ridiculous!

  • @maalbe987 Yes.. consider yourself lucky you have atleast some people of your generation that listen to good music.

  • @maalbe987 Seems like a bunch of kids are getting into Jethro Tull b/c of Rock Band 2. One of the main reasons I bought the game was for Aqualung, and later Hymn 43 was released which also made my day. I too am fairly young at 24, but Tull crosses generations well. Long live classic rock!

  • @thekelson Similar story for me. Heard Aqualung a couple times on the radio, then got Rock Band 2, then got the iPhone version of Rock Band which includes Hymn 43, then got the whole Aqualung album.

  • its nice to be selective and open minded at the same time.

  • @metallicka007 sick of this elitist fucking bullshit. Who cares what music anyone else likes? Why do you wear it like such a badge of honor? It's like you think listening to classic rock is some sort of accomplishment.

  • @johnabc420 I don't have any idea why you're being so hostile nor why you perceive me as thinking it to be an accomplishment, I'm just saying that it's hard to find people of a younger generation who listen to older music, instead of the next hit song on the radio

I personally don't have a problem with what others like, I see it as; if they are extracting the same inspiration and happiness from music of differing genres (as I do with rock), what's stopping them from listening to what they like?

  • @metallicka007 your tone implies that you think you're a better person for liking this music

  • @johnabc420 My 'tone'?!?! This is the internet man, not sure if you have realised it but, this is one of the few forms of communication where you cannot tell tone or emotion! But to disregard your thesis, no, I do not think I'm a better person for liking Jethro Tull, as I said earlier, people can listen to whatever they want and I'm not going to stop them from choosing their own genre of choice

  • @maalbe987 Dont worry, they will have a painfull death!

  • @FOCAPT Well that's a bit harsh...

  • @maalbe987 Its life son, its life.

  • @maalbe987 Who cares how old you are?

  • I, too, was very surprised to hear that Ian's "craziness" is and always has been stone cold sober. Good for the healthy sort of creativity!

  • A star indeed

  • Excellent song.. sung to a T by Ian... yet no Flute involved... I guess he deserved a break, but I like his Flute expertice... Missing in this video.

  • I thought it was Treacher? ??????

  • love this song

  • Wow, this is awsome. I really love seeing videos of these guys from back then.

  • acid was better those day's :-P

  • this could be an ode to any sunday morning EVILanglist and I'm lovin the ridicule aspect of the lyrics. Do as I say not as I do, aint it always that way?

  • Glad that these guys slipped under the radar. Let's face it, their style was never pop 40 friendly

  • @wildcatter63 And to this day, I thank God for that.

  • Crakheads and spitting killing people message is normal today. But when anyone put love and respect in the message of music today they are called either wackos, nuts,or gay.

  • Everything in music today has Slipknot and Eminem lyrics in them.

  • Incredible. The Moody Blues and Jethro Tull. People today call people who sing and perform outside of the box creatively though not reserved looney bins and nuts. Or they are on drugs. What do you call music today that only talks about in its message spit on everybody like they are a piece of meat with no respect. That is the typical late 20th and early 21st century American Eminem type of message in everyting. Even romantic music. And people today call that normal respectful music message?

  • i once had the pleasure of watching Henry Rollins (from Black Flag) have a drag blown in his face at a show, then punching the guy straight in the face from the stage. Rollins was super-buff too--dude went down. Should've known Rollins was straghtedge, man, at his OWN SHOW!!! LOL

  • @kylinthakilla00 Maybe that's why Ian kicked him out of the band

  • seen them in 74 front row, bass player smoked weed the entire show

  • That just goes to show you that you dont need drugs to be GREAT!!

  • I cut my teeth on Ian Anderson Now he's some kind of salmon entertainer?? only he don't sing any more. Minstrel in the gallery supreme

  • Good version but I like it with the flute better

  • That asweater is the same colors as freddy kruger #1

  • guthrie govan father jajajajaja. nice band.

  • Ian was the reason i wanted to be a hobo when i was little

  • i like his singing

  • The best JT line-up ever!!!

  • Since 1969 this band has been in heart

  • Ian Andersen in now my new hero.

And I don't care the guy is old now. He will always be awesome.

  • Visit our channel: prog-rock band "Gran Torino": our album is coming in 2011: grantorinoProg.

  • i am serial killer and now i will kill 23 people more*

  • @minisiljo No, you're a moron. Mom and Dad should remove your computer privileges because you obviously don't know the difference between constructive and stupid.

  • i am serial killer and now i will kill 23 people

  • Most underrated band of all time.

  • @dvdfrnzwbr Not back in the day they werent. They were very VERY VERY popular.

  • @dvdfrnzwbr so it says on every classic rock band vid ive ever seen

  • Nice design, all full of expression ...

  • @FGmartinpl sry, i meant UP. nice indeed :)

  • Where's the damn flute?

  • best flute player ever

  • Jethro Tull Are one of the best bands of all time OK!!!!!!

  • the reason there is not flute in this song is because on this occasion the singer was to "high" to play the flute.

  • @pbrick6301 hhhheeeeeeyyyyy guy... screw off because Ian Anderson never did drugs and he was highly opposed to them.

  • Anderson is a moderm minstrel.

  • Jethro Tull, The Minstrel Looks Back 1969-1977 2DVD set available at Tommygun Video - please check our youtube channel for link, clips, more info

  • You have to remember that musicians that came over from England as part of the "British Invasion" were born and raised in post-WWll conditions - not enough food to eat, and of poor quality, schools were bombed out, churches were bombed out, it was a bloody mess!!! And so you have these skin'n'bones Brits trying to get out of the ruins by making music for the world. I still find it bizarre that the Beatles were playing half the time in Hamburg, Germany which was bombed out in WWll,

  • la mescaline étais bonne dans le temps.....

  • @ prick6301: congratulations for wasting all this years - just to be the dumpa*s of the year! just a hint: try to get a beer on a tull concert! ha ha ha... oh my!

  • @pbrick6301 r u serious? I didn't know surgeons could be such idiots. Thanks for the warning.

  • @pbrick6301 I am an accomplished psychiatrist. I have treated nutcases from such universities as Harvard, Princeton, Vienna, etc... I feel qualified to state unequivocally that things are not always as they appear. It is a well known fact that "the singer" Ian Anderson was adamantly opposed to drug abuse and avoided illicit drugs. Your "feelings" have caused you to jump to conclusions with out evidence. Have you always been prone to what we psychiatrists term the "ready, fire, aim" syndrome?

  • @vigilantesword i agree with your comment. Sadly with human nature, ignorance seems to be bliss with people like pbrick6301. Although take the "b" out of that person's member name and it would spell prick6301 instead of pbrick6301 which rightly describes that person's personality. Yes, a prick.

  • @BBQFanNo1 With pbrick6301's name you can make prick6301. But you can also take out the p, making "Brick6301". Because he's thick as a brick, and I really don't mind if he sits this one out.

  • @vigilantesword its music you freaks thats all it is. what a bunch of losers you are. listen enjoy

  • @vigilantesword mmm i would have to agree with you on this one elvis....

  • @vigilantesword .

    no, you're not.
