hi, thanks for the video, very useful. i have just a tad more money to spend, what would you say is the next best cam corder please? and also i really dont understand all this tech talk, so what is best for ghost hunting, night vision or infra red or full spec please?
@WSPICOTC in reply to the question about the recessed screw threads for this cam, no it does not, but, it does come with a very nice plastic inclosure that is very solid, all I did was, take a drill bit and drill just slightly smaller than the tripod hole which 1/4 in size and drill the small black plastic clip that locks the bottom of the case after you close it, I drilled the hole right in the middle of it, and then screwed it into my mini-tripod, until I got a good fit, now fits any tripod
Yeah, this is a pretty bad one. It's the automatic night-vision that ruins it. The device determines when it 'believes' it needs IR light and isn't good at that. In total darkness, it's gone off. That happens specifically if you get too close to an object (like a grave marker during a 'ghost hunt'). It's best for indoors. The sound is abysmal, too. It can pick voices up, but there's always a squelching/squeal generated continually. Look elsewhere.
Okay so i recently decided i wanted to investigate.. i will be on a very tight budget so i saw this on amazon for 35 dollars good deal? and btw is there a slot to put new memory cards?
@WSPICOTC Thanks for replying :) is there any other good price night vision cameras you could recommend? Ive tried looking in argos etc,and cant find much information :/
@LittleLeopardSpots Yeah im not overly fond of mine but for £30 i thought it was a bargin.... i think i will replace it with something else soon enough but for now it will do.
To TheMrLusk, Ghosts have been sighted for hundreds of years, they are claimed to take many forms. Just like UFOs they are sighted almost everyday by normal people who are not mad, on drugs or drunk. Are they real? Who knows, at this pooint in time nobody has a definitive answer. To some no proof is needed, to others no proof is enough.
I made a video review of this camera(kind of foul). At the time I was very angry at having made the purchase, the automatic night vision just ruined it for me and the sound is very muffled. Still have it to this day, mostly because i make videos off my computer screen using fraps and have not alot of need for it, but I have to give this vivitar credit for withstanding the mighty blows from me when I was angry towards it, lol. A real camcorder would be a Flip HD - those are nice but expensive.
not that i really know what full spec is!!

Would you recommend this for my first paranormal investigating camcorder?
lisalovesmartin 1 year ago
@lisalovesmartin
If you are on a tight budget YES it would be great, if you have more to spend try something else...
the picture quality is not fantastic but it is better than some CCTV ghost footage ive seen.. and the sound
is not as crisp as i'd like but as i said before it is a good handy size and it has good night vision.

Is the Vivitar 150 DVR compatible with camera stands? Thanks.
RustySpoonsfeelGood 1 year ago
@RustySpoonsfeelGood NO, it has no screw fixture at the bottom sadly, but ebay does have iPod/iPhone tripods that fit the Vivitar....

Have discovered that this camera supports a 32GB SD card, giving you over 8 hours of recording. I popped my card in and it worked!
