@PurplePlum602 I'll tell you this. Compare the two shades of blue. For example, let's say you have light blue eyes, but the character you're cosplaying as has dark blue eyes. You would need dark blue contacts. But if it's perfect or almost perfect, you don't need to wear contacts!

I have a lot of really prominent freckles on the bridge of my nose and cheeks, foundation doesn’t seen to effectively cover them up innless I pile it on really thickly, which is a pain any other suggestions?
Do contacts hurt for longer if it's your first time wearing them? I wear glasses because I'm short sighted. I've been able to go without my glasses so that's not what I'm worried about. But I've never worn contacts before and I'm not too sure about wearing them.
@Pokepower123 they dont hurt, ive worn my contacts for 24 hours straight, but its recommended that after 16 continuous hours of wear you apply eye drops or more contact solution
I just want to say, even if you cosplay a character WITH glasses ( and you have perscription glasses) and need color contacts, you still need to get them perscription, because the perscription not only allows you to see, but its also so that it fits your eye, i wear glasses and got non perscription contacts and ended up with scratches on my cornias and extra messed up vision because my contacts wernt perscription ouo; so please, not matter what, get perscription contacts!
@rockleeofthesand or you can just wear the contacts and buy cheap glasses and knock out the lenses, thats what i do, and people cant tell if the lenses is really clean or there is no lenses

@CileMcdonald u can get contacts. i'm 13 to and just recently went to an eye appointment and they said i could get contacts if i wanted them. my brother got them at 12. my eyes are also a blue green colour.. i'm sure they'll show up. its only with brown or blackish eye colours where it doesn't show up well.
@CileMcdonald yes they will show up, i got contacts when i was 11, age doesnt matter, but my contact place doesnt recommend under ages of 10, and your eyes will show up

Wow... I have so many questions on contacts, lol. For one, I don't need prescriptions. Secondly, aside from local stores, how do you find "safe" sites? And, umm, hmm... oh yes! I heard that with or without prescription you need to get the lenses "fitted" to your eyes, or else it could cause eye damage. Is this true? Sorry for all the questions, but I've never worn contacts before. xD
Im not trying to rant on anyones videos but You should really be careful where you buy your contacts because some of them can hurt your cornea because the ink that is used is really bad! please make sure that it is either FDA approved or recomended by someone that uses contacts like that regularly! also PLEASE make sure that if your eyes are red take the damn contacts off! its not worth losing your eye!! Please reply if you want me to show you how to put contacts on ill also recomend some sites
@xAnimeNIACZx Not at all! They're like normal lenses. If you put them in correctly you shouldn't be able to feel them. One thing you should be cautious of is always make sure you are putting them in on the correct side. Unlike normal contact lenses, the ink in coloured lenses can really damage your cornea. And if there is discomfort there could be a tear in the lense, in this case it's best to remove it. Make sure to take them out before going to sleep as well :)
@xAnimeNIACZx not at ALL!, they are like normal contacts, but just colored, how ever some will be thicker and some will be thinner than regular lenses
Somthing to add with the contacts the colored ones are allways flimsy and another trick to use for the thick contacts is have the finger you are putting the contact in with is dry believe me it will save you!!!!
@crazygirlychic97 true, but what darksoul was saying is that your finger should be dry, not the contact. if your finger is wet, often times the contact will stick to your finger instead of your eye and thats just frustrating. :)

I have Brownie colored eyes and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY CHARACTERS has blue eyes. I didn't notice until after I chose and my group had set characters! Any help from anyone?
@WolfsCosplay i have really dark brown eyes too. i got "Fresh Look Contacts" in color 'Brilliant Blue'. im telling you it WILL make your eyes blue, and they are extremely confortable
Um, do you guys have anything to say about tanned or darker skinned people trying to play characters with lighter skin? I'm kinda tan, but I can pull of characters like Naruto Uzumaki or Yoruichi Shihōin, but when I try characters like Sasuke Uchiha or Misa Amane, it looks off. Any suggestions? From anyone?
@BlekahIsBack Well, firstly, the majority people who sees you in the cosplay will probably not care about your skin being more tanned than the character you're cosplaying, secondly, changing skin color completely is kind of impossible unless you want to go as far as using bodypaint, which some cosplayers use when cosplaying for example, blue or red skinned characters but my tip would be to experiment a little with some light powder and foundation on your face. It might work, it might not, idk ^^

@Managa101 NOOOO, thats a terrible thing to do, because the contact on top (the Colored) can easily come of because its not touching your eye so it wont stay in place , and it will blur your vision cause there is a unnecessary extra (the colored contact),also it can ruin your vision because it will rub on the original contact and mess up that contact so when you have your contact on without the colored it will ruin your because the contact is ruined and your eye will try to adjust to the change
@sweetdevillover well contacts arent for everyone but anybody can where them, but like i said they arent for everyone because some people just cant stand contacts on their eyes

I think the makeup really dpends on your personal taste. I have really small eyes and need quite a bit of eyeliner if I want to actually look like my character. And yes, as soemone said previously, lalasosu uses thick eyeliner and looks wonderful x)
hmmm... many of the tips you give are not accurate. o.o Guys use fake lashes and quite a bit of eyeliner and mascara, too; more so if they are trying to enlarge their eyes or change their shape in any way.
What would it take to get extensions attacked to a wig? I have a short wig for one of my male cosplays, but its almost too short and most of the time shows the back bit of hair.
I cosplay Kushina Uzumaki and I use my real hair which is over 2ft long when measured from the point it touches my shoulders. I've been wanting to cosplay Sakura, but I would have to cut my hair or use a wig. My friends and I tried to do a wig the way you guys did, but it didn't work(too much hair). You say not to use too much eye make up or fake eye lashes when playing a guy but some of the best Anime ones I've seen use dramatic eye make up and fake eye lashes so thats not really true
You say that a thin line of eyeliner would do, even for girls. But for me, I'm Asian, so that won't be enough for me. I even sometimes have to put on fake lashes if I'm doing a guy. I'm kinda jealous of Caucasians who don't need to put on much eye makeup since they have way bigger eyes and naturally longer and thicker lashes. ^^; (My lashes I like, short and stumpy. OTL)
Also, they have different eye colours. So sometimes there's no need for coloured contacts. :C
@aisurabu Believe me ,s weetie, we have to use as much eye make-up as you guys need, because the anime eyes are neither one race or the other, they seem to be a mixture of both. ^^
@DementedDannie If you get the wrong ones, yes they can. I mean, contacts can scar your corneas anyway and can cause corneal ulcers. So, all contacts come with risks.
(I have experience with coloured contacts and normal contacts, so trust me on this.)
@DementedDannie only if you dont use them right or take care of them, like if you dont change the solution daily, then there will be bacteria build up and it will make your eyes bad, ive been wearing contacts for a year and my prescription has been the same the entire time
@SoaUchiha well yew can use liquid as a base and then put thin layer of loos powder over your liquid base
im sure that would work well if you have alot of freckles x3 and it'd be much better if you use 1 shade darker then your own skin tone ^3^ hope this helps
@SoaUchiha A concealer of the colour opposite to the colour of your freckles (I don't remember what are the opposites, but you could look it up) for better concealment, and then liquid make-up, if that doesn't cover them up, then start layering loose powder till you like the effect. You'd have to do that to set the liquid make-up anyways, but that's just one or two layers of powder, in your case, you'd need to layer till they are gone. ^^
@SoaUchiha your gonna need concealer and full coverage makeup, it doesnt matter the powder or liquid, it just matters what your doing, if your going to be mostly outside them powder because it reflects the light better and liquid if your mostly going to be indoors

Somthing to add with the contacts the colored ones are allways flimsy and another trick to use for the thick contacts is have the finger you are putting the contact in with is dry believe me it will save you!!!!

@crazygirlychic97 true, but what darksoul was saying is that your finger should be dry, not the contact. if your finger is wet, often times the contact will stick to your finger instead of your eye and thats just frustrating. :)

USE products that was not tested on animals!! it's much more safe and you know no bunny and any other animal was harmed ;-; [you have LANCÔME, Estée Lauder, MAC, careline, macadamia, so as many others]] and even though they expensive it's worth it!!

I have Brownie colored eyes and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY CHARACTERS has blue eyes. I didn't notice until after I chose and my group had set characters! Any help from anyone?

Um, do you guys have anything to say about tanned or darker skinned people trying to play characters with lighter skin? I'm kinda tan, but I can pull of characters like Naruto Uzumaki or Yoruichi Shihōin, but when I try characters like Sasuke Uchiha or Misa Amane, it looks off. Any suggestions? From anyone?

@BlekahIsBack Well, firstly, the majority people who sees you in the cosplay will probably not care about your skin being more tanned than the character you're cosplaying, secondly, changing skin color completely is kind of impossible unless you want to go as far as using bodypaint, which some cosplayers use when cosplaying for example, blue or red skinned characters but my tip would be to experiment a little with some light powder and foundation on your face. It might work, it might not, idk ^^

@Managa101 NOOOO, thats a terrible thing to do, because the contact on top (the Colored) can easily come of because its not touching your eye so it wont stay in place , and it will blur your vision cause there is a unnecessary extra (the colored contact),also it can ruin your vision because it will rub on the original contact and mess up that contact so when you have your contact on without the colored it will ruin your because the contact is ruined and your eye will try to adjust to the change

So what would be better if I want to cosplay Grell. Green contacts with the strength or green contacts without the strenght and the glasses with the strength? I can't seem to find any green/yellow contacts with my strength (-7.00) and it's killing me.

@missmiming You have to get a contact exam and know your strength. Your contacts have to be the same strength, or you won't be able to see.

I think the makeup really dpends on your personal taste. I have really small eyes and need quite a bit of eyeliner if I want to actually look like my character. And yes, as soemone said previously, lalasosu uses thick eyeliner and looks wonderful x)

hmmm... many of the tips you give are not accurate. o.o Guys use fake lashes and quite a bit of eyeliner and mascara, too; more so if they are trying to enlarge their eyes or change their shape in any way.

I cosplay Kushina Uzumaki and I use my real hair which is over 2ft long when measured from the point it touches my shoulders. I've been wanting to cosplay Sakura, but I would have to cut my hair or use a wig. My friends and I tried to do a wig the way you guys did, but it didn't work(too much hair). Does anyone have any ideas? Is it even possible for me to use a wig? My boyfriend attempted something he called "hair-no-jutsu"(karate with a hairbrush) and it failed... I'm beginning to lose hope...

You say that a thin line of eyeliner would do, even for girls. But for me, I'm Asian, so that won't be enough for me. I even sometimes have to put on fake lashes if I'm doing a guy. I'm kinda jealous of Caucasians who don't need to put on much eye makeup since they have way bigger eyes and naturally longer and thicker lashes. ^^; (My lashes I like, short and stumpy. OTL)
Also, they have different eye colours. So sometimes there's no need for coloured contacts. :C

@DementedDannie If you get the wrong ones, yes they can. I mean, contacts can scar your corneas anyway and can cause corneal ulcers. So, all contacts come with risks.
(I have experience with coloured contacts and normal contacts, so trust me on this.)

@DementedDannie only if you dont use them right or take care of them, like if you dont change the solution daily, then there will be bacteria build up and it will make your eyes bad, ive been wearing contacts for a year and my prescription has been the same the entire time

@SoaUchiha well yew can use liquid as a base and then put thin layer of loos powder over your liquid base
im sure that would work well if you have alot of freckles x3 and it'd be much better if you use 1 shade darker then your own skin tone ^3^ hope this helps

@SoaUchiha A concealer of the colour opposite to the colour of your freckles (I don't remember what are the opposites, but you could look it up) for better concealment, and then liquid make-up, if that doesn't cover them up, then start layering loose powder till you like the effect. You'd have to do that to set the liquid make-up anyways, but that's just one or two layers of powder, in your case, you'd need to layer till they are gone. ^^

@SoaUchiha your gonna need concealer and full coverage makeup, it doesnt matter the powder or liquid, it just matters what your doing, if your going to be mostly outside them powder because it reflects the light better and liquid if your mostly going to be indoors
