i know you said u cant upgrade from leopard if ur just overwriting the previous os but what is i have leopard and want to just completely restore my mac and then install lion can i do that?
@FlorinProductions yea you can do a clean install and skip the upgrade once you reboot with the usb attached open disk utility in the installer and format your primary drive. I did a clean install this way as well. Make sure you have backed up your files.
hey buddy so i was running leopard, saw your other vid and updated to snow leopard which worked perfectly. i wanted to then upgrade to lion so i i needed to unmount the usb which had snow leopard on it, but everytime i try, it won't let me erase it? how do i fix this?
@butbutz00 yea i did a few times and it was really weird! it gave me all these errors for erasing and restoring so i plugged it into another mac and it cleaned up 6 gigs in like 2 seconds? i think it was erased initially but i mightve pressed it twice or something :/ all good though :) i upgraded my iMac to snow leopard ( not to lion cuz i dont have 2gigs of Ram :/) and my macbook pro to lion FOR FREE :) thanks champ
