Man I wish my name was "Atticus". What an awesome name, for real :) If someone was to say "Mike, David's pissed and wants to kick your ass" I'd be like "Uh, okay? Sure..." but if it was "Mike, Atticus is pissed and wants to kick your ass", it would have more of an impact. Along with the name "Atilla".
Eric didn't fight in the UFC. He competed over seas. Great grappler. Now he is a coach to many UFC and MMA fighters. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge.
@ryukenb2k True. But Eric fought MMA, Shooto, NHB (bare knuckle pre MMA being a sport), competed in Sambo and other grappling competitions, and was Pancrace champion several times in Japan. He fought full contact for years. This was pre UFC being such a major sport. Now he just trains and coaches. But he roles with anyone who wants to try rolling with him. Many UFC fighters cross train with Paulson.
@BushidoCode72, You have good knowledge of eric paulson who is like a sponge or a library of grappling. He did win numerous fighting but he did get a serious lesson in the early ufc when a boxer or karate blackman whupped his mma backside, but to be fair to paulson the fight wasnt exactley fair because the cheap opponent kept on pulling paulson's hair like a woman and punched paulson's face in without the stupid referee stopping the filthy action.
@ryukenb2k Paulson lost twice. He lost to Hume (another excellent grappler and MMA fighter) and to an old boxer. The boxer fought in World Comabat Championships (Renzo Gracie wound up winning the event). Paulson had long hair. The boxer tangled his wrist around Paulon's hair and didn't let it go. He pulled his hair back all fight. Never let Paulson's head go. It was legal, dirty, but effective.
@ryukenb2k Paulson never fought in the early UFC, He wanted to but I believe the Gracies told him if he did he would be forced to fight Royce Gracie. So they told him not to enter, seeing as Paulson was a student of them at the time and if he did he would not be able to train with them anymore.... Im almost sure Helio Gracie didnt have anything to do with telling him that though. Helio was a true badass and would have been like hell yeah put him in.
