  • DougPatton:

You've been cumming on this movie's comment thing for 4 months now. It's been concluded that you are a debaitfail mentally ill babble fabble.

    Please gtfo.

  • Salem: That's where the witch hunts were - no surprise then - Get HELP !

  • Only 4-months ? I demand a recount !

  • @DougPatton1

Which proves my point. You're fucked up.

  • salemMoron: Please keep posting it keeps the party going and proves our point as to who is REALLY junk-media fucked up.

    LOL-ita

  • @DougPatton1

How can you assume that I'm junk-media'd? Fucking troll. I haven't watched TV in 2 years and I hate pop culture magazines.. how am I exposed to the media?

  • salempoo: Whatever junk-media has so MISinformed you about aMused-not-aBused Non-victim Adultophiles has seriously let you and many others down. So blame them not me, Wise Up don't Dumb Down. LOL-ita.

  • @DougPatton1

ALRIGHT, I stopped commenting. Why do you feel the need to keep replying when it's blatantly obvious that what you say is just a bunch of jargon to me? NO ONE informed me about your sexophilia adultophiles. NO ONE. Not the media, not anyone I know.. so therefore, how can one be misinformed when ignorant (which in this case is bliss) to something?

  • @DougPatton1

I'm sorry I didn't include this in my last message, but you really are one sad fuck. You must be thirty something and jacking off to Betty White. Furthermore, you have references to all this other "media" containing fabble babble information about your adultophilia or whatever the fuck it's called and you repeat it OVER and OVER and OVER. You've been doing this for OVER 4 months, and that's not normal. You obviously got some issues, dude. I think you need some counselling.

  • Is that the 88 year old Betty Marion White ? Hmmmmmm. LOL-ita.

  • @DougPatton1

    Psycho bitch.

  • Salem: FundaMENTAL home of irrational Witch Hunts & Sense Offenders, youve been cumming on my sensible comments on this movie and now you are another welcumm member of the Adultophiles fan club.

    LOL-

  • sadsalempoo: Repeatedly making FACTUAL points, as 24/7-365 media are MEANT to do but being the SAD BENT FUCKS they are they O M I T what doesn't fit their populist for PROFIT agenda on MANY issues including SPORT/POP /POLITICS/ SEX whatever - ALL professionals in those fields know that mainline junk-media is BENT CRAP. Only the Dumbed Down BY that bent-media believe their crap which is why they aren't Wised Up. Look between the lines and you will be mentally informed not deformed. LOL-ita.

  • @DougPatton1

Okay dude. Have fun with trying to make a point that mentally sound people will understand.. you just go ahead and do that, buddy.

  • salem: Mentally SOUND serious academics are already way ahead of today's junk-media for Moronic mind control profit not protection. LOL-ita.

  • 14MCDJ: Eso es lo que digo yo, por lo menos la hubieran subtitulado. La he buscado subtitulada o doblada al espanol Y NADA.

  • Luffy: The effin 1962 B/W more witty version part-penned by Nabokov & Kubrick directed with a cute but also unconvincing 16 yr old playing the 12 yr old Lo. The essence of the book is in both films but Hollywood's gutless copout in both efforts by not casting a true 12 yr old (like say Jodie Foster in 'Taxi Driver') spoils both films. Check serious academic past Adultophile, Non-victim Judy Levine's great 2002 study "Harmful To Minors, the Perils Of Protecting Children From Sex ". LOL-ita.

  • @DougPatton1 I've gotten to the point where I feel the 1962 version is unwatchable, so superior is the Adrian Lyne version.

  • Bettina: The '62 B/W version is superior in it's colourful wit far truer to the book with the Russian Nab writing brilliantly in English, and more of a listening experience than the in-colour but greyer witless dialogue of Lynne-LO '97. Sadly listening becoming something of a lost art. LOL-ita.

  • Doug, I could not disagree with you more, but that's cool :) I see what you are saying, though. Believe me, I know I am in the minority for preferring 1997 over 1962. My mom really gets in a huff about it!!!!!!

  • Bettina: Cool for sure. You may not be in a minority and your mum may not be in a majority - the ball's still in play - both efforts have their pos-neg points but both are gutless copouts in not casting a true 12 year old like Foster in 'Taxi driver' - it could easily be done suggestively & street-legal with cine-technology. The big studios are just populist-castrated cowards. Though dues to the brave dudes Nabakov/Kubrick/Mason/Lynne/irons et al, for their attempts. LOL-ita

  • well me all gave opinions. and you're like 50 you're fine with "adultophiles" or whatever you call them. wtf why would they cast a real 12 year old you sicko. they dont spoil it, they make the reality less disgusting

  • Luff: In a huff . Why so damned angry dude and ageist too - maybe some younger guys than you think you are way out of date as well as outta line. Foster then and now would tell you a thing or three about acting at any age. Your sicko narrow, shallow, hollow world view is disgusting in any era. Wise Up don't Dumb Down. LOL-ita.

  • I know that the majority of people would think that the ideas in this film are sick (which they are) and I hate the fact that I feel pity for Jeremy Iron's character and also that the film makes me really sad too.

Basically I'm torn between pity and disgust. There is something about the story that makes me want to cry.

  • Mega: Yeah this relationship is sick, but millions of REAL Non-victim Adultophiles Rock. Read serious academic, Non-victim past adultophile Judy Levine's great 2002 book, "Harmful To Minor, the Perils Of Protecting Children From Sex".

    LOL-ita.

  • @DougPatton1

Actually if you were actually paying attention, or even read the book, it wasn't Lolita's adolescence that Humbert was attracted to.

He wanted to continue the love he had with the woman from his earlier years. Lolita reminded him of her.

Never does he say "ooooohhh how i long to be with a child".......EVER.

  • Tawain: Actually if you pay attention Humbert sought another 'Tween' not another 'Woman' - EVER. And Top 10 book hits are not serious academia. E.G. everyone knows that Billboard's Top 10 pop hits are not serious top music. Wise Up don't Dumb Down. Read serious academic Non-victim past adultophile Judy Levine's great 2002 book, "Harmful To Minors, The Perils Of Protecting Children From Sex". Meanwhile millions of Non-victim Adultophiles Rock. LOL-ita

  • Tawain: Vlad Nab's 1955 novel, is great fiction about postwar and ongoing corrupt U.S. familial materialistic manipulation and dysfunction - not a master study in Pedo-Adulto good or bad relationships. LOL-ita.

  • @DougPatton1 You're the epitome of psychobabble bullshit. LAWL-ita.

  • omg: You say the swzeetest things that you posted it twice. LOLLY-eater.

  • @DougPatton1 Good sarcasm, child fucker.

  • OMG: SadFactFuckersLikeYouAreChildAbusers. Meanwhile millions of aMused Non-victim adultophiles really Rock. Check serious academic, Non-victim past adultophile Judy Levine's great 2002 study, "Harmful to Minors, the perils Of Protec ting Children From Sex". LOL-ita

  • @DougPatton1 You fucking caught me! I abuse the children I am never around. You know, since people can't actually read what you wish to convey, your spam is just amusing. It's sad that your life revolves around trolling the comments of a film on YouTube.

  • @DougPatton1

Btw which list "Top 10" is Judy Levine on? LOL

Lolita manages to be a constant on any intellectual's top reading lists. Look it up.......

  • This was my first Jeremy Irons movie (not including The Lion King). I love his talent.

  • This openning made me think two things... 1. I wish this was in present time because of how many men are into this stuff, and 2. how that boy doesn't look 14. Still, I'm hooked.

  • EWilson: All serious studies, media-muted since the '50s indicate that numbers of Pedo-Adulto interactions which are 90% psuedo-consentual no threat/bribe/blackmail haven't changed, probably since the dawn of humanity. What's changed in the past 20 yrs are junk-media all negative climates-of-fear for scare profit, with the harm coming from Victorian mentality grossly disproprtionate authoritarian responses making both partys, plus families & communties all modern victims of backward values.

  • Attraction to adults by underage kids is far more common than anyone might think -

    non-victim Adultophiles rock !

  • The music is literally magical... so beautiful... I dunno why, but it makes me wat to burst into tears

  • Lolita was playing when Canada & USA was going through a child molestation awareness that before was tabooed, it was a sensitive period. By my nature I was intrigued & curious; after, I remember thinking, it really takes a certain maturity to take it for what it is. If Hubert had managed to get over his tragic teen child lost, he would have live it as a beautiful & sacred moment, rather than the emptiness he felt & experienced throughout his life; that later would need a substitute to fulfill

  • well put-a psychologist would have a field day with him

  • Some psychologists would have a field day with other psychologists.

  • @DougPatton1

    lol lol

  • with subtitles come on please!!!!!!

  • Tabloid-ophiles should be on a Sense Offender Register.

  • wow i watched the movie and it was great. Like others say i feel bad for Humbert because for what he went threw when he was a boy and i also think that he really loved Lolita even knowing she didn't love him. great movie and story.

  • Under age sex and rape isn't right kids, m'kay?

  • Sex-not-threats is OK. Rape isn't OK - including MASS MIND RAPE lies and bullshit about Sex !

  • Wat will we doeth, eh? lol

  • WhatWontSomeSayethEh?LOL

  • Does wishing I could have a relationship sexual or otherwise with a younger girl make me a bad person. o.O

  • Depends on how big the age gap is, a few years is okay but like 10 would kinda be...I don't know, awkward? Sick? There are alot of opinions from different perspectives, so yeah.

  • kpha33: Interesting that everyone's junk-tabloid psycho-illogical so called 'opinions' are heard except those of the younger partner with no voice, no vote, no choice, yet most often sexually aMused not aBused but who can still be criminalised at 10 (8 in Scotland) for knowing moral right from wrong but can't tell aBused from aMused ? Getoutta here you bunch of Victorian jerks !!!

  • @Numenorean921: You are probably a rare HONEST person - adult male or female.

  • Is that a question? Male.

  • Your profile indicates Canadian, 19, no hint of gender - though it matters not as good Pedos, like good Adultos come in all varieties. LOL

  • No. Age isn't what matters, if you are in love with the person. Looking specifically for that, however, is frowned upon in society.

  • Jez. lol

  • no and yes on this planet yes on another no

  • Plain english please.

  • PlainSensePlease.

  • No trolling please.

  • NoSensePleaseWereBrits

  • pleeeease someone send me soundtrack of movie, melody is great,memoryfull..........please

  • While Vlad Nab was one of only 2 great multi-lingual novelists (with Joseph Conrad) Lolita isn't a typical Adulto and Humbert & Quilty aren't typical Pedos - in fact all junk-McMedia stereotypes are way out of time.

  • thanks so much for this movie...I love it and i couldn't find it anywhere. you are great!!!!

  • I bought the book on ebay yday, can't wait to read it!

  • no Chinese language??why...

  • nazwa1000: Would 12 yr old Lolitas really want to be ' ironed ' by Jeremy ?

  • @DougPatton1 LMFAO

  • omg i love jeremy's voice...

  • Ohh his voice is so dreamy..... sigh.

  • Simplemente, poético...

  • If you like Jeremy Irons you need to rent "Love for Lydia". It was a production of Masterpiece Theater in the late 1970's and it is great. You will not be dissappointed.

  • yo quiero verla pero en españoooooooool como hagoooooooooooo

  • im readin this book right now. it kinda makes u understand pedophiles a lil bit better lmao. psychologically and what not ii mean.

  • jenny: I think you will find that, beyond junk-media stereotypes, as with any individual, there is no such person as a typical pedo. No more than there is a typical gay, les, bi, or so called 'straight'. There's hardly anything common between good pedo Presley and bad pedo Fritzl. If those names mean anything to anyone here, or there ?

  • i dont know which comment of mine your replying to

  • jenny: ' ...this book..kinda makes u understand pedophiles a lil bit better lmao. psychologically and what not. ' Yet, neither Vlad nor puppet psycho-logists know much more about some issues than a maleable public are allowed to know via it's controlling mainstream junk-media. For a more informed 'insiders' view, read respected author, academic and past Adultophile/NON-victim Judith Levine's ' Harmul To Minors, The Perils Of Protecting Children From Sex ' Uni of Minn, 2002. LOL.

  • O_o

I'm just saying that the book gives a good inside look inside the mind of a troubled 'pedophile'.

but in my opinion: Humbert is messed up psychologically because of what happened to Anabelle when he was young so I feel bad for him rather than Lolita, who just comes off as a trouble maker to me.

  • You're missing the point of the book.

It's not supposed to justify pedophiles.

  • ssoab: You are so right. The only people who can justify Pedos are Adultos. LOL

  • sergio mendez duarte vio este video

  • This movie reminds me of my past. Even with a Jeremy Irons lookalike. Lol. Good movie though and I find it pretty honest. Old man chases a girl young enough to be his daughter, she is intrigued for a little while and then gets bored with him while he still thinks he will have her forever.

  • it's not a lookalike

    i think it's actually him

  • Postwar US-influenced Japan, their erotica & porn adopted some western styles & titles (as with much western technology) the western L-sound was typically Japan-ised in to an R-sound. And in Japan with an already established adult appreciation ' Schoolgir Cult ' white-sox/nicks etc with NON-porn adult mags and picture-stories on open sale, post Kubrick's 'Lolita', in the 1960s the 1st Jap Lolita sex mags/films etc were RO-RITA' , long before the current Lolicon/ Hentai/Final Fantasy craze.

  • College version? You must be referring to an annotated edition, because I'm not aware of any printed versions that are abridged, only audio books.

  • its not based on a true story

    that was the story

nabokov (author) wrote the story as if it was a psychiatrist recovering a man's (humbert's) memoir

the psychiatrist and the man are both fictional characters

  • Jeremy Irons played Humbert WONDERFULLY.

  • Film stupendo e la musica di Morricone è magica, dà una forza ai pensieri, ai ricordi , alla malinconia, a tutto ciò che accade e finisce...superlativa! la ascolto tutti i giorni.

  • WE LOVE LOLITA

    J & S

  • I read this book and I love it...does that seem weird?

  • naw

  • no,i have the book and i read it at least twice already.i love it too.

  • I loved it too! Not weird...im sure...

  • no it's a good book

  • Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul.....

  • Lolita mean little girl in Jap. Gothic Lolita is basically putting Gothic assets to little girl clothing. message me if you want to know more.

  • Actually, Lolita does not mean "little girl" in Japanese. "Lita" (little) derives from Spanish origins and combined with "Lo" (Dolores' nickname) makes the word "Lolita", but the actual term was made popular by Nabokov's novel.

The Japanese decided to create a fashion statement based on the whole idea that the term respresents (sexually precocious girls).

Therefore, Nabokov's Lolita was merely an inspiration for the Japanese culture. "Lolita" did not originate in Japan.

  • The Japanese decided to create a fashion statement based on the whole idea that the term respresents (sexually precocious girls).

is this y a lot of the japenese clothing style like MILK looks like little girl clothing except EXTREME & enhanced sexually?

  • **edit: well idk if MILK counts O_o but like the harajuku thing i mean

  • Harajuku do often dress up in Gothic Lolita. But the style of clothing is not influenced by Lolita at all, the term was simply BORROWED. The reason I know Lolita is not Japanese is because I'm half Japanese and have somewhat of an understanding of where our modern culture comes from.

Gothic Lolita is a fashion style that is inspired by French and European fashion primarily of the 1800's, but it isn't always intended to be sexual.

    Hope that cleared things up.

  • ya I know lolita isnt japanese. Lolita is clearly spanish I'm half latina

  • Uhhhh, You obviously know nothing about the Gothic Lolita subculture. Lols.

  • Film suggestivo, musica struggente!

  • film bellissimo !!

  • ho i brividi, Morricone come sempre geniale, il miglior compositore del cinema. Film stupendo.

  • and also, why am i getting rated down for my comments? sorry if i said anything that offended you, or if i just seem stupid. dont get so worked up about it people.

  • No, you're not stupid at all. It just appears that the Japanese may have taken a cue from the original novel "Lolita" and named a dress style after it. But I agree, it's certainly nothing to get worked up over.

In fact, I'll check out the Japanese style myself after I finish seeing the movie.

  • thanks =). i think the reason so many people think the japanese lolita is based of this is cus the lolita style is sort of a "victorian doll" style, which i guess can be considered trying to be cute and suductive... but i dont think its like that at all.. lol

  • thanks =) uuhh i just left a comment but i dont see it so sorry if im repeting myself.... anyways thats cool but i just looked up japanese lolita and it just has japanese versions of this lolita... try saying gothic lolita instead thats the main style of lolita... lol sorry

  • "Gothic" Lolita...got it. I'll include that in the google searchwords. Thanks!

  • cool =)

  • actually lolita is refered to as a young provocative sexual girl who appeares "barely legal" , and the term originated by this novel Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

  • ok, well i know that now, but lolita is also a style from jaoan and looks NOTHING like the way this girl dresses. so... yeah... lol you should look it up its a really cool style

  • Duh, Lolita is a dress style which makes people look younger- 'barely legal'- and was taken off the whole Lolita character from Vladimir Nabokov's book. Get your facts right

  • i have my facts perfectly right. the japanese lolita has nothing to do with this lolita. if you dont belive me, look up japanese lolita. now YOU get your facts right.

  • Not really. The Lolita style is meant to look a doll. It's not based on the book at all.

  • What's the name of the song in the beginning?

    pleaaase

  • Ladies and Gentleman of the Jury - Ennio Morricone

  • Thanks!! :)

  • katy perry loves this movie!!!

  • None of you people seem to remotely understand this book or film (but to understand Humbert, you'd really have to read the book). He's not a "romantic"; he might have romantic notions of his actions, but the ways in which he attempts to trap and hold Lo are abominable. If he's a "poor romantic", then naturally that would make Lo the "villain", and she's not. Quilty entreated Humbert with sleazy offers because he, as a monster, recognized another of his kind. BOTH men were ultimately disgusting.

  • Hey US-girlie chill out! The world is not full of phedophiles & terrorists. And everything in life is not "just" black or white, good or evil. Neither you can explain everything in a few words. Open your mind, don't be afraid that disgusting monsters will get in ! ;)

  • First of all, I take umbrage to the assumption that, because I'm a "US girl", that my sole preoccupation is with the witch-hunting of pedos and terrorists. Please chill out with YOUR stereotyping.

Secondly, this is one of my favorite novels, and I can't believe anyone could view the story as anything but a total condemnation of Humbert on Nabokov's part. He eviscerated him on paper, by making him the most unreliable of narrators. Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply wet dreaming.

  • I meant "US girlie" in a humorous teasing way, guess unsuccessfull, blame it on the fact that English is not my first language. And yes it's true that Lyne is not Nabokov. But consider that even much easier books have failed to ascribe the right "atmosphere in a movie. It's still a good work in my eyes. Oh and i sense your sarcasm with the "wet dreaming" but you know, i'm not 13 :). And i still believe it's easier to condemn(anybody can do that) than to understand. But to each his own... ;)

  • I agree completely - he really is the same as Quilty. The manipulation he uses is exactly the same.

The thing I don't understand about him is why, if he's so noble and good, did he wait until after he'd had her at that hotel to say anything? And why then tell her at the Gas station in that horrible way? The simple answer is because he didn't give a damn about her feelings. He just wanted to bed her.

  • In a literary sense, I do believe Quilty is actually meant to be Humbert's Doppelganger, to show Humbert in an unflattering light by comparison. Both of them are writers, scholarly and "high-class" in a way, yet Quilty is unabashed about his taste for child pornography. Also interesting, thinking about it, is how much like Charlotte Haze he becomes towards the end. They're people his youthful self would have despised (since he's still "frozen" in his youth), and he doesn't realize he IS them.

  • A sort of "self" and "other" concept? I can see what you mean.

I still don't understand Charlotte Haze in the book or in the film. That's her child and she's meant to protect her but we get the impression shes angry at her child? I can't see why she resents Lolita.

  • I think she resents her because she's jealous of her. She's jealous of her youth and vitality and sees her as getting all the attention. She is constantly looking for Humbert's attention and when she sees Lo getting it, even if not in the sexual way, she's jealous. I would say she feels as though she's still young and attractive and she adopts all those mannerisms such as asking if she's saying something in the right way to appear knowledgable and so resents that Lo gets it without trying.

  • It really is a very fascinating work, among my favorites for so many different reasons.

  • i think every body should have to read this beautiful but tragic novel in high school it deals with so many things that can change a like for ever .

  • I recently saw the Stanley Kubrick film. the old one...

And they both have their magic.

    both lolitas are very attractive...

But i do feel, this one has i don't know, more...feeling we could say?

Anyway, Amazing film, my friends think i'm crazy for watching this movies, but they're so lovely.

  • haha jeah there are much better Man-movies like always Terminator or Starwars^^^^ Lolita also shows the emotional lovely melanchloic Side of Man^^

  • stop doing "^^" LOL

  • age of consent for sex is 13 years old spain. for both straight and gay sex

  • Can you sub this in spanish? I don't understand anything xD and I'm really interesting in this movie

  • el hombre al empieso esta ablando de lolita y su relacion con ella. luego esta recordando su primer amor con anabell cuando era 14, pero unos meses despues se dio cuenta que se enfermo y murio

  • How delicate and enduring that Jeremy Irons play Humbert. Very well done!

  • Comment removed

  • Humbert is an poet, thats the biggest different between him and Quilty.

Quilty is that what we today are calling a Padophile. I think thats one of the biggest Messagesthe movie wanted to say.

-The different between Quilty and Humbert!!!!!

  • Also, Humbert actually cares about Lolita's wellbeing. His is an obsession with Lolita and with nymphets, whereas Quilty's is an obsession with youths of all kinds.

Unfortunately, Humbert would also be classed as a pedo in this all too protective modern world.

  • lolita is in humberts eyes the reinkarnation of his old died youth-love.

As she kissed him, a Rock felled down from his heart. he became salvation.

    but at least fortuanelely not.....

I also had some bad expereinces like him in my youth, i think maybe i would do the same if id met a girl like lolita.

But i wouldnt eploit her anyway.

Quilty is a really bad Pedophile, who, how u sayed, love youths of all kind......

    hes thinking with his tail......

Humbert is a heartbroken romantic Man.^^
