i like GDI super weapons alot better than NOD's tho, a simple tactic find enemy HQ building launch Shock wave artillery air strike and ion cannon all 3 thingys from space, looks cool and gives enemy massive losses alone Ion cannon cant destroy enemy main buildings, unless it's a mission.

But NOD's defence laser turets are awesome and stealth units are most effective if you attack enemy from the back, love doing that :P

on this simple uber-easy mission, the ion cannon is "programmed" to destroy the whole remaining NOD base, even if you only aim for one building in another part of the base. so its not really that amazing, but dont get me wrong, the ion cannon is the best superweapon!!

and the nod conrtuction yard was already damaged by 1/3 so thats the only reason why it destroyed all structures in that area......... any other structure of nod except for the temple it can destroy.....but your right about one thing this mission is easy

It's scripted. As soon as you use the ion cannon on the base the game destroys all the structures. No matter how you place it, or how damaged the buildings are.

X) The best thing is you don´t need to build that many stuff to have it... to protect it is another matter though... Love this weapon. Superweapons ftw (to take over bases that is)

Rift Generator makes the Ion Cannon look primitive even though the Ion Cannon would be an extremely advanced weapon. Makes thre nuclear missile look worse. But the Ion Cannon blast is the most impressive. I want an Ion Cannon orbit in space but if anything goes out of control then I'll suck it up with a Rift. Temple of Nod, not included.

It's even better when you take all of your offensive powers and use them in a showstopping grand finale. I used Ion Cannon, Nuke, Cat Missile, Mines, Mines, and even more mines, and shockwave artillery. It makes a good show on the Ground 0 MP map.

that's because this was from the first level in the GDI campaign and the ion cannon is rigged to destroy the entire nod base, no matter how big it is. You're supposed to win the level after using the ion cannon. It's just for this level, though. This won't happen in multiplayer or other levels.

Nuke is actually better because there's no indicator to where it will land, unlike the Ion Cannon, which has a pretty light show before it hits, and the Rift Generator, which deals damage over time, allowing you to sell your buildings if you're quick enough.

So I'm just playing in Skirmish and 2 enemies build a super weapon:ION Cannon and Nuke.They get charged at the same time thanx for my EMP and they fire away at the same time on the same Fucking place!!! That was so awesome!!! Lasers circling and in the middle a nuke falls,explodes and after the explosion nearly cleans off BAM another one from Ion cannon! It was eye candy man,fucking sweet.....
