ok dude, i really need your help please respond to this. i have scs.3d and mixxx but idk how to set it up with the program (if that makes sense? im a noob) if you could tell me how to set it up that would be greatly appreciated.
@Xdutchboy Of course! Since the SCS.3d is officially supported (i.e. at least one of the devs has one,) we make sure it's supported in all future versions.
@aznyellojersey You're looking at it. :) Haha, actually, there's the user guide on the Mixxx wiki. I can't paste links in here, so go to mixxx.org then Wiki at the top, then Hardware Compatibility, then Stanton SCS.3d, then User guide.
hey dude awsome video ty ! a question.. could u tell me where u got all ur dance mixes ? for example captcha - close to me i never can find the version u played in video. would be fine if u write 2 me :) well good job !
i have numark's dj io. i am wondering if i can have 2 turntables going into channel 1 of dj io and another turntables going into channel 2 of dj io and that enables me to have 2 turntables hooked up for vinyl control
Can you show the steps on how to get the SCS.3d and m systems to work on Mixxx? Im fed up with trying to get Traktor LE to work!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
The .3m isn't supported yet (I'm currently working on that mapping.) But it's really simple to get the .3d working: 1) Close DaRouter, 2) Plug in the SCS.3d & wait until it settles to all-blue, 3) Start Mixxx, 4) Open preferences, MIDI Devices, click the SCS.3d (Or USB Audio Device on Windows,) click Activate, then drop down the list and choose the "Stanton SCS.3d" mapping. 5) Click OK and you're ready to rock.
@DJSelFull Yes, I'll be making video of that soon, as Mixxx 1.8 (to be released in the next few months) supports multiple MIDI devices. But in a nutshell, you plug them in, start Mixxx, open prefs, enable each device, load the appropriate mapping file, click OK and start rocking.
iwanna mix songs play songs with a differennt beat cut sertain parts outta songs to put in one song to make a mega mix like proly close to 10 min mix. HOW DO YOU MIX DO I HAVE TO BUY A MIXER IM NOT A PRO SO I DONT WANNA PAY ALOT OF MONEY i just wanna make a bunch of tunes to put on a couple cds
All you need is Mixxx and a quick hand on the mouse. The slider in the center of the screen is the cross-fader which fades between the two tracks. Search the web for DJ tutorials. They apply to Mixxx as well...you don't need a hardware mixer.
you should add a software or hardware input to mixxx! i mean it works with jack, which is like free rewire and now it works with windows. you could run, like, frooty loops into it.
that aside, this is great work, thanks a lot. i think im going to get one.
unrelated question i know, how can you play this song without youtube removing the audio? i would like to do some mixxx demo vids but youtube keeps removing my audio
You're using too much of a copyrighted track then. In my case, I also apparently did, but the label opted to put ads on my video instead of remove the audio. Our best bet in the future is to use Creative Commons music tracks that explicitly permit free use.
It will, but not with this version. Multiple MIDI device support will be in v1.8 if I have anything to do with it. :) That said, some users have used JACK on Linux to combine multiple MIDI devices into one virtual one which Mixxx can use right now in a basic form.

Hey dude!! ...............3 questions
1- can I use TORQ vinyls with mixxx?
2- does it work with my external usb soundcard?
3- Am I able to use my custom midi controller and map different parameters of this soft?
Thanks!
snorkman88 1 year ago
@snorkman88 The timecode records supported are on the wiki. Torq isn't one of them though.
Mixxx will work with any sound card your OS can see.
You can use a custom MIDI controller and write scripts for complex behaviors, just as I did for the SCS devices.

It should just see it. Make sure the SCS.3d has settled to its all-blue state _before_ starting Mixxx.

is mixx a good program wut if i wanna add a diff beat?
JasonBJJ1990 2 years ago
An audio editor would be better suited for that. However you could try lowering the lows on the vocal track and the mids on the beat track.

External pass-through inputs are on the radar but won't be added for awhile since there are other features that are more requested.

iTunes uses M4A/AAC format audio. Mixxx 1.7.x can't play these but we're working on adding this support to 1.8.0. Watch for that to be released.
