  • We still do this today, except instead of attacking people of other groups, we attack people of different belief systems.

  • YOU FOOLS! THERE IS NO EVOLUTION. EVOLUTION IS A LIE THAT FOOLS FOLLOW IGNORANTLY!

  • @emitsomla hahaha lol yah?

  • i punched in london riots and got this rofl!

  • say wut, nigga? evolution be all rayciss n shiet

  • Yup, the attackers are dragging the victim around and the victim's surely dead now; oop, and here's Jane.

  • I didn't know chimps had sharia law

  • fucking black people, oh wait these are chimps

  • @average220 Yeah, Chimps have white skin you dumbfuck.

  • @BaboonJihad Jihad mad? ROFL

  • @average220 No, it lacked any creativity. You might have to actually think for a minute to make me angry. You mostly are just stupid.

  • @BaboonJihad And you think your idiotic insults are working for you? Try again. Jihad you mad.

  • @average220 Nope still ain't working for me.

  • Chimps have retard strength, ergo, Chimps are retarded.

  • I HATE chimpanzees. They are evil creatures and should all be destroyed.

  • @prairieendeavors With that logic all humans should be destroyed. You'd exterminate our closest living relative? Don't be so quick to deal on death and judgement.

Agressive behaviour is in all creatures. The more cunning, powerful and better adapted creatures usually survive to pass on their genes, that is the natural way of things.

When it comes down to what matters chimps are not different from humans.

  • @prairieendeavors We are similar. We do the same thing in a small scale (look at gang members. uncivil tribes) And on larger scales. We humans are due for another war. Another culling of our herds so to speak. We humans are just sick s.o.b.s. Same as the chimps. We deserve to be destroyed too.

  • Soon chimps will learn to use guns. I predict and chimp v human war.

  • @SonofBenevolence We'll win easy.

  • They are not the only other species to do so. Felines for example.

The claim that war is uniquely human is laughable.

  • @beefygoblin yeah but they are the only other species to have organized skirmishes like we do

  • @beefygoblin war is, battles are not

  • what a bunch of bad breath hippies

  • "they've got nothing against this individual...but they're going to attack it."

ahahaha, i love that line. but they do have something against that individual, he's a competitor for resources, i.e. mates.

  • @titojack8 He's a member of another group. The only resource they share is territory.

  • "Wasn't what scientists wanted to hear"

I hate when people talk about scientific community like it's one of their ignorant 'dumbasses'.

  • This video shows the inhumaneness of our ape cousins. Unfortunately too many modern humans are little advanced beyond this.

ArcaneKarma needs to understand that it is the right which seeks to stop violence by punishing such crimes and encouraging self-control, morality, and responsibility; while the left tries to excuse violence (especially if committed by certain groups that the Democrats are sucking up to for votes), and tries to get violent criminals off as fast and easily as possible.

  • Go fuck your politics in the ass somewhere else you asshole.

  • no political party is tied to some notion of "excusing" rapists and murderers. please take your bullshit out of this thread.

  • @Linguiphile What the Right tries to do, and what it accomplishes are two completely different things though.

  • fucking chimpanzees, kill em all

  • It is as if e was describing negro behaviour in the Urban jungles of America. There really is no difference just replace "chimp" with negro.

  • This is an eye opener. If a stinky creature not even aware enough to wipe itself goes to war just how sophisticated is violence?

  • hahaha......chimp gangs....they just beat eachother to enlarge their territory....

  • If a bunch of guys suddenly find themselves unable to stifle the "primitive urge" to kill someone, or to hit their girlfriends, there is a special little hotel where they can stay and get three square meals a day all for free.

Oh, no. Now the far right is going to be angry at me for putting a limit on their freedom to express who they really are inside.

  • you've pointed out the problem I have with our legal system. It shouldn't be about punishment (revenge); it should be about 3 things.

    1) rehabilitation: we all know what that means.

    2) quarantine (as a philosophical basis for incarceration): taking away the criminal's ability to harm the rest of us. At least for a reasonable time, depending on the crime.

    3) exemplification: a dispassionate "punishment" to ward off would-be criminals from doing the same. It's cold. nothing like "hot" revenge.

  • Yeah.

  • "If a bunch of guys suddenly find themselves unable to stifle the "primitive urge" to kill someone, or to hit their girlfriends, there is a special little hotel where they can stay and get three square meals a day all for free.

Oh, no. Now the far right is going to be angry at me for putting a limit on their freedom to express who they really are inside."

My point is that you shouldn't care about what is natural. Natural is not good or bad, and provides for no justifications.

  • I agree.

I agree that what is instinctive may still be against the law if we decide it is.

Evolutionary psychologists have the right to -care- about what is natural . . . but I don't think they will ever be able to figure -out- what is natural. What technique could they use?

  • The scientific method? Through observation? How do you think the theory of evolution was formed? What exactly do you mean by "natural"?

  • By 'natural', I mean 'instincts that we're born with, behavior that is innate, rather than learned'.

  • But how do you observe the psychological states of a caveman? They're all dead.

    How do you gather data?

How do you test a hypothesis?

How do you run an experiment, much less a reproducible experiment?

How do you come up with a falsifiable hypothesis?

    There just isn't any data.

  • Well, psychology is very "grey" in these areas, but it's still possible to get some idea. For example, look at the Stanford Prisoner Experiment, and many other social experiments. It kind of gives you a general picture of human nature.

  • Despite what evolutionary psychologists say, part of our job as adults is to try to -avoid- imitating the worst behavior we can find in the animal kingdom.

Not to seek more rationalizations for our own crimes. (Of rape and murder.)

  • Only crackpots justify those things. Evolutionary psychology is about why our behaviors are the way they are. Leave justifications to Philosophers and the general public.

  • I'm glad you agree with me on rape and murder, but the problem is that evolutionary "psychologists" don't -know- why our behaviors are the way they are.

All they can do is speculate.

That's not science. It's just idle speculation.

  • So we are still beasts, un-evolved and murderous, we always new that, at least the ones who are willing to OPEN their eyes.

Once we acknowledge this, half the battle is won.

The chimps do exactly as we do. They see the victim as an outsider, not one of them, so the act of killing is more palatable. Just as the Nazi see the black man or the American sees the Arab. It's easy,. just de-humanise the enemy and it's easy to smile as we kill.

  • this is the origins of the crips

  • And Bush's foreign policy.

  • It seems to me that the similarities that we humans share with chimps far outweigh the differences....by a very large margin.

  • This same behavior is displayed daily by humans in our inner cities when rival gangs load a car up with four or five members of one gang who go out and look for a lone individual from another gang to either shot or stab.

Humans have not evolved as much as we would like to believe from our days of living in trees.

  • >Humans have not evolved as much as we would like to believe from our days of living in trees.

And they are more dangerous. Indeed as we have dangerously levereged our banks' assets, in the same way we levereged our destructive power as well. So, even if professor Malcom Pots is right when he says we are becoming more peaceful, it will suffice less violent people to create the damage that previously required a lot of men. It suffices few crazy dudes and a button .......

  • Very well put.

  • Jesus, our Lord in Heaven, that sounds painful. I'm glad God made me in His image, so I don't have to feel that, and I'm glad chimps don't have souls, so they can't feel pain.

  • good gravy i hope that comments a joke.

  • I look to my teacher, Jesusophile, for inspiration in spreading the Word.

  • I'm glad most people are smarter than you. Is that how you justify animal abuse, they don't have souls and don't feel pain? Seriously take an anatomy class, or any science class would probably help you.

  • René Descartes was believing that.

  • Believing what? That animals don't have souls therefore they don't feel pain?

  • yes, he believed that animals have rex extensa only, id est they are machines like a clock with mechanical reactions only. I would be he had never even a pet in his life. Or I hope it for him. Nonewithstanding these ideas he was a quite bright thinker.

  • sorry, lot of typos

  • Well it's been proven that animals can feel pain, I don't know what the point of telling me the Rene Descartes didn't think they could.

  • how can you tell me Animals can't feel pain ? what animals are your referring to ? chimps have nerve endings, so yes, they certainly can feel pain.

  • SILVIU19G- I agree with you, I don't know if your message was meant for me or now.

  • Because my church tells me so. And my church has Charles Nelson Reilly nailed up on a cross. And my beliefs tell me so. And I believe in swordfish.

  • I know him and he is being satirical.

  • There aren't enough Dead Milkmen fans in the world.

  • Yeah I realized that after I looked at his channel.

  • Why would you think Chimps can not feel pain?

  • You walked into a satire challenged zone dude. I think these chimps are ready to tear your limbs off.

  • If this isn't a joke then Professor Potts intellect is to your intellect what a t-bone steak is to no name processed sandwich meat in the clearance bins at wal-mart.

  • garvess,

    I disagree.

Potts is a legitimate scientist but here he is dabbling in evolutionary psychology here and most scientists agree that evolutionary psychology is fraudulent pseudoscience.

What evolutionary psychology is is pure speculation about the two big issues that the whole world finds absolutely fascinating, apparently:

    sex and violence.

This video is like a car accident. It's hard to look away. Too much of television is like this already. We don't need it online.

  • We should all be more aware of current events, but watching too much real violence is even more unhealthy than watching too much of the fake stuff.

  • Well where do you suggest that psychology came from if it didn't evolve? And how did you come to the conclusion that most scientists agree that it is fraudulent? And this is not like sex and violence on TV this helps to explain why we are so interested in it on TV. I believe you are fundamentally wrong in your thinking. By your comments I suspect that your arguments have a sour little religious core.

  • We -do- have all kinds of animal instincts.

It's just that anyone can peer into their own dark hearts and start spouting off about them. That's what makes it fun.

And no scientist can travel back in time and interview prehistoric man in order to gather real scientific evidence relating to human psychology 500,000 years ago.

It's just beyond the reach of real scientists.

We can all gab about it, but don't call it 'science'.

  • I'd be very interested to hear what our ancestors were thinking about 500,000 years ago or a million years ago . . .

but none of us will ever know.

All we have is the cave paintings.

And you'll notice that Potts never mentions cave paintings once.

    Other evolutionary psychologists are worse.

It's essentially about trying to make rape seem "perfectly natural".

  • Does anyone want to join me in ripping peoples limbs off so we can get more territory? lol jk XD

  • im game

  • I volunteer for cooking and serve them with a nice Chianti.

(If you get your ass kicked I cook you)

  • If people are interested in this I advise you to google "Best Lecturer Competition" and go to the TVO website. On there you'll find a lecture by Shawn Lehman on this stuff. Right now he's a finalist in the competition.

  • this world sucks. They were tricking us saying there was human sin that fuck the world up, instead it's the world being fucked up and human's behaviour a mere maniphestation of it.

Or maybe it's all right and we should feel at home here with the darwinian selection process. Id est, what makes it unlikable is a meme gone wrong.

  • that is a big step for these animals

  • Wow
