  • Gingrich got 1.6 million from Freddie Mac. This is only the tip of the iceberg..

  • Oama is a family man and not a liar and you right wing morons need to shut up!

  • @1775novten Unfortunately, I don't think RP supporters are doing their research. Recently Newt called Obama the Food Stamp King when in actuality, that honor belongs to GW Bush The supporters in the audience loudly applauded this untruth in total agreement. Doesn't this tell you that they haven't done their research or maybe they just don't care as long as Obama is taken out of office. I would think if I want someone in office I would at least care if they were speaking fact.

  • COME TO MY CHANNELA ND WATCH MY VIDEO ABOUT GINGRICH SLAMMING CNN'S QUESTION ABOUT HIS WIFE!

  • @CrazyCoolCuzins slamming CNN?

We all know Newt was the Liar.

I find Newt to be no more reliable than Pelosi or the Clintons

No normal moral human would get caught in the same room as Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi

Newt sells you manure claiming it is gold. you need to go back to school and finish the third grade.

  • watch my vid on newt slamming cnn's question about his wife!@

  • @zentricky69 Hellz to the ya Ron Paul has my vote make sure u all switch to the republican party before you vote otherwise your vote will not be counted.

  • OP is a faggot.

  • @WotTehPhok So am I us faggots were burned at the stake by good god fearing christians along with everyone else they didnt approve of. Thousands of good men and women in the military died for our freedom. I have the freedom to be what I am I am a faggot if you hate me for it that is fine but we are free dont make those soldiers lives be in vain by taking my rights away because you don't approve.

  • @Mikeal74 "OP is a faggot" is not a gay bashing term.

It's notably used on 4chan, and lesser used on reddit and funnyjunk, to refer to the original poster. I'm basically calling out the uploader.

    I couldn't care less if you're gay. That's your choice. I don't hate you, I don't give a fuck.

  • @WotTehPhok thanks big hugs to you )

  • @WotTehPhok OP is a heterosexual.

  • The unspoken rules of the GOP is even if the Democrats did 99% right, the GOP must focus exclusively on the 1% wrong, despite that 1% wrong was created initially by the GOP anyway, like the recession.

  • Founders of R country had day jobs for yrs. They were not career politicians. We need leaders with experience in the real world, not experience in the phony world of politics. A politician's guiding philosophy, When in doubt, pander! Exactly what Obama is doing right now. Hes campaigning in Tex. Telling Mexicans hes going to keep on till the Dream Act is passed. Even thought 80% of Americans have said no twice. He wants Mexican votes. Get N-Ur office, do Ur job U worthless piece of s*i*

  • Obama caught Bin Laden, And wasn't in the white house getting a blowjob nor lying about a fake war over oil. That says it all. LMAO - Go get your Trump.

  • The budget plan as I have observed isnt that bad of a plan. Lowers the deficit down quite a bit. I think mr. Gingrich is saying this stuff to discredit the president so the republican party can put someone in the whitehouse. I also think he is a major sleazeball. Im a moderate btw, not a lib.

  • @86THECRITIC The recent fiscal budgets have the highest recorded deficits in US history. Also, the president is the leader of his party so he practically always controls the majority of Congress.

  • @redarrowhead2 Yes they do. The majority of Congress is republican anyway.

  • @86THECRITIC

I agree that he know that it is smart but, if means discrediting someone to make him feel good he will. I also think that if we are counrty that is for everyone, we all need to feel the pain of the taxes.

  • @saintmcfadden Yes. This is the first time in our history we have gone to war without raising taxes. And people wonder why we are in debt!

  • Obama... he's a nightmare... When you are a phony like Obama ... it's hard to keep facts straight.

Be on the lookout for snake oil salesmen & their cure all products, false claims with fake credentials, avoid their miracle cures which are actually get rich quick schemes which are targeted at those with chronic delusions .

  • @onstageagain You just descibed Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., Bill Clinton and George Bush Jr., too. We only elect fake fuckin' liars who tell us what we want to hear. Our country sucks Capitalist cock & we'll never be civilized until we face up to reality & act like grown people. We talk about cutting the deficit but how many of us cut back ourselves? We are a pathetic bunch of childish sociopaths who don't even know what's good for ourselves.

  • @TheStulzRage U-r right, Politicians R all cut from the same cloth. No man's life, liberty or property R safe while the Legislature is in session. U cannot adopt politics as a profession & remain honest.

Politics was never meant to be a profession, like diapers, should be changed often & for the same reasons! They believe N one thing, winning elections, will say anything to get in office & stay there. Its a accident to find Obama @ work N the White house. Hes always out campainging!

  • He's an aylegal and needs to be tayken awt! Get yur gunz my fellow Murikans, 'fore that pussy boy comes and get thems from yu! Need to take that aylegal awt from that White Castle 'fore he takes my favurite burgers too! Yur a great Murikan Newt Gangbangbitch! We all heer support yu!

  • "NEWTer" The White House in 2012!!!!!!!!

  • Apparently, Newt is in Japan.

  • Come on- what does this Newt guy know??? All he ever did was balance the federal budget after becoming Speaker- and it WAS the Republicans who took over and ran Congress in the 1990's who balanced the budget, not Clinton. Read your Constitution and you will discover that Congress controls spending, not the Executive. So those of you who want to give all that credit to Clinton better think again. Newt knows what he is talking about and has the track record to back it up!

  • @thelawguy666

This is why I really believe 2012 is Newt's year. He comes with baggage but we are in desperate need of fiscal sanity. Newt has a proven track record, as you've pointed out. Everyone knows Clinton was dragged to welfare reform, also. Two of Clinton's crowning achievements. Seems Dem. Pres. with a Republican controlled house is the magic combo. Hopefully Newt can behave with a Repub. controlled House.

  • Gingrich is a nigger!

  • This creep gets gold palted health care and almost a full salary even though he is not in government anymore and he is going to try and lecture all of us about the need to cut spending? Really?

  • Schemers are the problem. People afforded the time to to manipulate others while providing nothing of substance to society are the problem. So-called "Illegal Aliens" provide more to American society than any of the schemers.

  • I remember when Newt first became former Speaker.

  • i thought the title was

    "New Grinch on Obama Budget"

  • Newt Gingrich harssed Obama

Newt Gingrich should leave Obama alone in his future

  • And speaking of the GOP's nearly ruining our economy & Obama saving us from free-fall, this is from REAL news sources instead of that hack:

YEAR-END AUDIT FINDS TARP PROGRAM EFFECTIVE...The independent panel that overseas the gov's financial bailout program concluded in a year-end review that... there is broad consensus that the TARP was an important part of a broader government strategy that stabilized the U.S. financial system by renewing the flow of credit and averting a more acute crisis.

  • Let me reiterate - so that it doesn't get buried in literally & figuratively lame butterflies - that scandalize the poor & making them look like they're "interfering" with progress is what's unAmerican.

Newt didn't even pay his ex-wife the child support that was awarded her by the Courts so he proved he has no respect for our laws.

And Reagan's "rendezvous with destiny" should be re-named "Rendezvous with Iran" since his administration sold weapons to Iran which was also illegal.

  • Reagan's policy:

Scandalize the poor - make them look like they're "interfering" with progress.

Increase federal funding for big business to create a "favorable business climate" in fact SPEND MORE. But make any funding for the impoverished or infirm unacceptable on the premise that they're just lazy people looking for "handouts".

Patients were forgotten, elderly people were living in cardboard boxes, & people w/aids were dying.

They were stepping stones to Reagan's "progress"

  • You know something jbugko..........we all have "filters" that we tend to see things through. Your world view is so anti free market and anti self determining, anti self reliance, in other words...anti American. You see a post nuclear landscape. Stubs of trees. Shattered buildings. A few starving souls clothed in tattered rags, stumbling aimlessly through the radioactive waste land pushing each other out of the way to get to the soup line first. You look only at the suffering....

  • ....in the world and fail to see the good. I see things a little (a lot) differently. I understand that there are those in bad situations in life and others suffering with hunger, poverty, living in crime infested neiborhoods with non hope for anything better. Despair and heartache. But I also understand that the old saying is true..."if you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, if you teach a man to fish, he'll eat for the rest of his life." Even the father of the modern welfare state...

  • ....Franklin D Roosevelt said ...."the continued doling out of such relief is a subtle narcotic to the soul of men. It robs them of their desire to achieve by causing them to rely on it too much." We can all be more than what we are, and achieve more than we think we can. The limits in life that hold us back are the limits we place on ourselves. We set our own limits, we adopt limits from parents or peers or our piece of the culture we live in, but few of them are really real.....

  • So all of these state facilities that had to shut down in the 80s as far as you're concerned have no bearing on the "revolving door" policy that you exercised when you processed people like they were disfunctional windup toys.

    Blaming Clinton is your answer.

    What else is new.

  • If blaming Clinton is my answer I guess blaming Reagan is yours. You see....we do have something in common. Imagine that.

  • .....we should petition the union to to petition the company to take every dime earmarked for payroll and benefits and send it all to washington. The we need to petition the government to set up a new burocracy that will then decide what we all actually need to live on and then send us a check in that amount. Now there's a system for you. You see, we can keep giving fish but people need to start learning to fish. It's a tough row to hoe but it needs to be done. The nanny state tries....

  • ....to convince us that it can shelter us from all evil, all struggle and pain and that struggle and pain are always bad things and should never be experienced by anyone. We're told that if we sock it to the wealthy man that that will some how improve the lot of the destitute. We're told that government can "level the playing field" somehow so that we will all have equal opportunities and equal outcomes. It's a lie. We are responsible for improving our own lots in life. When struggle is...

  • .....removed, it cripples us. I'm sure you've heard the tale of the man who was watching a butterfly emerge from its Chrysalis. The poor thing was struggling sooooo hard to get out that the man had compassion on it and took his pen knife and slit the side of the Chrysalis to allow the butterfly to escape. Although the mans intentions were good, he realized that he had actually harmed the butterfly. It is through the struggle that the butterflies wings

    develope the strength to fly.....

  • Oh give me f'ing break. I'm sure you've heard of the elimination of rent controlled apartments along with federal matching funds for state facilities during the Reagan years and the huge increase in homeless people. And I'm sure you've also heard of AIDS which became an epidemic during the Reagan years. It has nothing to do with the wittle boy who took his wittle pen knife and ah-wow'd duh buddoo fwy to escape. Give me a m-ther fk'ing break, man.

  • Hey jubugko. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying there shouldn't be some form of state aid for people in desperate circumstances. Not at all. Consider this however, when the social security system was started it was as a supplement to retirement. There was a social security disability part also. Guess how many disabilities it covered? Just two. Persons born blind or who became blind as a result of accident or physical deterioration and the "lame" or physically handicapped.....

  • Hey flyboywagner, your talking with to much logic for liberals. Just thought you should know. Conservatives do better understanding your arguments, with actual logic, and actually having a sense of right and wrong. When a person has neither, your pearls are rocks.

  • Hi Texican 782. You are right. As it's been said...."there are none so blind as those who refuse to see." I don't know why it's so hard to get some people to see that this great nation was not founded as a charity and that Americans never intended to be dependent on government or anyone for their living. Americans have always been fiercely independent and can see the control and freedom that can be lost if people can be persuaded to see government as the solution to all of our problems.

  • ....as is the politically correct expression. Also covering birth defect or loss of limb or function through accident or physical deterioration. That's it. Now it seems people can get some kind of state aid if they get depressed, or have dirt under their fingernails, etc, etc. You get my drift I'm sure. Although you tried to mock the butterfly illustration, it is regretably true. Too many peoples wings have been "clipped". I don't begrudge helping people in a pinch but when the people...

  • ...in the pinch are the same people over and over again and from one generation to the next, that is where I have to say STOP! All this "compassion" and government aid has caused the breakdown of the American family in Urban America. The government has subsidized Illegitamcy, fatherless homes, paid women for each child born out of wedlock where a child is little more than a payday for many single mothers. You want to talk about perpetuating the worst contributing factors to the break down...

  • ...of the American family, you'll find a compassionate liberal program behind it. You talked about aids becoming an epidemic during the Reagan years. Was that Reagan's fault? Aids comes from abuse of intravenous drug abuse (sharing needles) and deviant sexual behavior. HIV typically remains dormant for up to 15 years before full blown aids symptoms manifest. So technically Lyndon Johnson could be blamed for aids, since peoples behavior began to sow the seeds for it under his watch.

  • It's peoples own behavior that gets them into trouble. I already told you about the 13 women in the Grand Rapids area of Michigan who had 54 abortions between them in 1 year. Should wise, responsible Michigan citizens be expected to subsidize this with their tax $'s? People need to take responsibility for themselves for once in their lives and start making good, wise choices that will get them out of the generational revolving door of government aid and standing on their own 2 feet.

  • @flyboywagner Well put

  • @flyboywagner If we are going to get this country back on it's feet, we need to get someone in there to stabalize the country. All the other issues are null whether I agree with your oppinion or not. We need to leave the old issues and make stability as the main priority. Once we are stable with a conservative Government and less government go for these other things. This is a hard pill to swollow. Build the base, get the country stable - then go for these other issues.

  • @flyboywagner If you don't like it you can always go to another country hahah also what about obama? he said he was gonna get the troops home and that we can take that to the bank...what a fuckin liar. also he said he was going to shut down guantamino bay..still open another lie. who is consistent? who can we trust? im voting for ron paul

  • .....having the struggle removed, the wings were malformed and wouldn't allow the butterfly to fly.

Don't believe for minute that people shouldn't have to struggle and that it's somehow uncompassionate and mean spirited to not DO for others what they should be doing for themselves. Too many have lost a vision and desire for something better because it's just easier to stay dependent. I sometimes think about when I was a kid, living at home with Mom and Dad. My biggest worry was about...

  • @flyboywagner where was all this outrage over deficit spending when the republicans were spending like crazy. although i agree that this country is drowning in debt, i don't trust the people that put us into debt to get us out.

  • 'FAIR AND BALANCED" - that's what PBS broadcasting is because it is not for profit. Newt tried to destroy PBS, National Public Radio and individual and public radio stations that were non-profit - a move that completely undermined independent broadcasting and the non-interference mandate of the Public Broadcasting Act.

  • Gingrich does nothing but recite most short-sighted rhetoric - tax cuts tax cuts and cut social programs. At one point, he targeted PBS and tried to destroy its programs. Today, PBS is the only station that has a not-for-profit news program broadcasted on television.

And speaking of education, Big Bird is still alive and well and living on PBS stations - sorry, Newt, you couldn't kill PBS or Big Bird although you tried.

80 percent of Americans polled refer to PBS programming as "FAIR

  • Now Gingrich rattles his drum about taxes and idolizes Reagan with every breath. The Reagan administration sold weapons Iran and sent the money to Contras in South America.

If Gingrich wants to talk about a "Rendezvous with Destiny" that's the rendezvous with destiny he should address today.

  • And as far as Obama's budget goes, he saved this Country from free-falling into a full-blown depression.

In addition, the CBO report recently released its estimate on how the health care bill would effect premiums: They'd stay the same for people with group coverage while falling significantly for most of the small-group or individual markets.

Gingrich just ignores the facts. That's his rendezvous with "destiny" - destiny to use bad parables like "Robin Hood" and ignore the world.

  • The Robin Hood parable has nothing to do with the United States. Every other industrialized nation in the world functions with provisions for health care, food, and housing for its poor, elderly, & infirm.

Speaking of charity, Gingrich also failed to pay child support and his ex-wife received contributions from her church while this dead-beat dead neglected to feed his own children.

You have no idea what I've done in my life to help others, so don't second-guess.

    Gingrich is an idiot.

  • And another thing. Scandalizing the poor and placing the blame on them when the economy tanks is not "advocating personal action and responsibility." Not in the least.

And one other thing - your "struggle against the encoachment of the communist WHATEVER in our hemisphere didn't quite work did it, considering how much you can probably find in your house that was manufactured in - communist - China.

  • Comment removed

  • Reagan was a god damned fool that gave us the war on drugs and Gingrich is the god damed fool tha gave us NAFTA. Only a god damned fool would believe anything either of those bastards say.

  • It took Rep's 14 years of Congressional and 8 yrs of Rep Presidential DE-REGULATING & MORONIC & GREEDY profiteering & CUTTING Corporate and wealthy taxes to destroy the World's economies! Now they're PISSED Obama hasn't fixed EVERYthing in 200 days! MORONS! or RACISTS? You'd think they were getting PAID to say such STUPID things! Oh yeah, they only REPEAT what they're TOLD by people getting PAID to make up MORONIC crap! Sheeple REPEAT stupid for FREE! Newt =LIAR/CHEATER/Pled GUILTY N Cong

  • Hello hangdsobs. It's too bad that you're not as "Up" on the realities of a free market capitalist economy, as you seem to be "Up" on the Marxist "Utopian" lie that has been tried and failed EVERY time it's been attempted. For you to say that deregulation and corporate tax cuts destroy economies is like saying putting miracle grow plant food on roses will kill them. If the 750 bill stimulus had been divided equally between all American citizens we would all be $250k richer. Any thoughts?

  • You must be one of those who believe they are "entitled" to anything the government can give you, even if you don't earn it. I'm not rich, but I understand what a disaster Obaba's budget is. Bush took 8 years and 2 wars to run up a deficit of $1 trillion. Obama has created a $4 trillion deficit in 8 months. He should have cut the budget, eliminated Bush's bueracracy and let the market take it's course. Instead, our grand children will be living in a nation owned by China and others. Change?

  • Ronald Reagan increased poverty, ballooned the deficit, increased the budget, and lost over 1 million manufacturing jobs. Republicans have no clue and no plan.

  • Hi hoodoo961. I was alive and an adult back in the good old 70's and 80's. I remember gas rationing stamps and long lines at the pumps on "Your day" to fill up. I remember double digit inflation and 18-20% interest on car and home loans. I remember double digit unemployment, and a peskey little thing called the "Misery Index" that measured consumer confidence (or lack thereof). All under the wonderful democratic administration of Jimmy Carter. Reagan tax cuts - 20 years of economic growth

  • Then you must remember also that during Reagan's time, a whole lot of elderly people ended up living in cardboard boxes on the street.

His administration also sold weapons to Iran and funneled that money to Contras.

BTW, you forgot to mention the OIL EMBARGO to any country opposed to what was happening in Egypt & Syria. THAT'S WHY we had gas rationing. So it's like you were there, but you weren't since all you were concerned about was having to stand in line and how it put you out.

  • Hi jbugko.......I doubt we'll ever see eye to eye on issues conservative or liberal. I like the response President Kennedy gave to Nikita Kruschev when Kruschev was explaining the "glories" of communism to Kennedy. Kennedy's response was straight forward and concise. "Mr Premier, I am not a communist and you are not a capitalist so the sooner we stop trying to convert one another the sooner we can get down to the business at hand." I'll continue this in another couple of posts.

  • ......flyboys response continued. jbugko, I've already addressed the lunacy of the liberal position of increased regulation and taxation on small, medium & large business having a "stimulating" effect on the economy now to your "partial" stats on Reaganomics. For every $ in tax cuts that the democratically controlled congress agreed to, that same congress spent $2.00. You want to know where the deficit came from? Now gas lines. OPEC...to be continued.

  • .....jbugko......jerked the world around at that time by decreasing oil production so as to jack up prices. Hummmm, that sounds like a good old axiom of the free market, supply and demand. When demand is high, prices rise, when demand is reduced, prices fall. What that showed me at that time was how dangerous a position we are in as Americans, when we're not in control of our own energy destiny. For more than 30 years our "dependence on foreign oil" has been decried. Nothing has been done..

  • .....for better than 30 years conservatives have been sounding the warning of our domestic energy production problem, and for better than 30 years liberals have stonewalled every initiative that would move us toward energy independence. No new refineries have been built. Current refining operations are overloaded and can't meet the ever increasing demands of an expanding population with increased energy needs. No nuclear power plants have been constructed, our own low sulphur coal deposits

  • ........have been placed off limits to mining companies and contracts have been given to Indonesian interests to provide us with low sulphur coal. This was done during the Clinton administration as a "gift" to the Indonesian Rhiatti government. That means no jobs here, no oil production in ANWAR. A facility that would have a footprint the size of Dulles international airport but libs say it would defile the pristine wilderness area. What a bunch of crap. When it comes to the poor....

  • .....and homeless, we always seem to hear about that subject the most when dems are running for office and then when they're elected we don't hear about it anymore. As though the issue was solved just by electing a dem. As Christ himself said....the poor you will always have with you, and anytime you like you can do good unto them." Did Christ advocated for political activism to petition your government to become a charitable institution and to exact "dues" in the form of taxes from eveyone..

  • If Christ knocked on your door today, you'd probably call the police to remove the dark-skinned bum from your property.

  • Since you seem to like quoting Christ & using Christ as a metaphor, then I suggest you try applying the story of the "loaves and fishes" whenever you cry about having to pay your share in taxes.

YOU: "Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food."

JESUS: "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."

  • At least you're consistent jbugko. You can as adeptly misquote scripture by taking it out of context as you can Ronald Reagan or any other conservative. When you take a text out of context you create a pretext and can therefore make the Bible support any position you choose. A classic mistake in hermaneutics. If you are in any way familiar with that scripture about the loaves and fishes, you must admit that in the context of that account we are told that Christ already know what he was....

  • going to do. I certainly hope you're not attempting to draw a parallel between Christ's miracle of the feeding of 5,000 men, women and children from 5 loaves and 2 fish and the federal government being a miracle worker to feed the multitudes. Again, what role did the Roman government play in this miracle? Who petitioned the offcices of the governor Pontius Pilate? Or who petitioned the emperor Cesar himself for a social program to feed this particular group of people in Israel?.......

  • You proved my point in the part of the scripture text that you did quote. Jesus again said...."you give them something to eat." I used to work with a guy who believed that we should have more taxes taken from our pay checks so that dire social needs in our community could be addressed. I asked him why it is that so many people these days think that every problem, whether it be local or what, seem to think that sending more money to washington is the solution. It's a convenient way.......

  • for so many "Concerned people" to keep from getting THEIR hands dirty and showing true compassion for the needy. Send more money to the government to create another wasteful burocracy to trickle a few dollars here and there and then feel good about yourselves and how compassionate you are while taking $ out of everyone elses pockets to asuage your consciences. Jesus would say to you the same thing he said to the disciples....."You do

something for them." Roll up YOUR sleeves, get YOUR hands

  • You've have no familiarity of how hard people work in legal services offices, rape crisis ctrs, under the current budget restraints. You obviously never even noticed that when Reagan was in office the outpouring of elderly who HAD lived in rent-controlled districts & then ended up living in cardboard boxes, facilities getting shut down that housed schizophrenics resulting in those unable to care for themselves roaming the streets and off their medication.

  • Hi jbugko........you've obviiusly forgotten about how Bill and Hillary led a drive to stop depriving people who suffered from mental illnesses of their civil and constitutional rights. Just because a person suffered from schizophrenia or some other form of sociopathic disorders was no reason they should be locked away in mental institutions. They pushed legislation that made state institutions release these people into society. Guess what? The "normal" citizenry began to be assaulted.....

  • That's ridiculous. You're referring to increasing hiring and promoting opportunities to people with psychiatric disabilities that received bipartisan support.

Actually, during '80s, there was a sweep to shut down psychiatric facilities by

Reagan . "The states used to receive medicaid funding that matched state funding, had to prematurely release patients.

Many of them ended up detained by the criminal justice system for vagrancy.

Guess that REVOLVING DOOR kind of thing's okay with you.

  • ....by the "abnormal" citizenry who were now enjoying their right of freedom of expression. The government in its unlimited compassion failed to anticipate that these people who had been cared for in these institutions and given their meds daily, were not capable of being responsible for or taking care of themselves. Then guess what happened? The problem became bad enough for these people to be sent to institutions again. Years ago I worked in a hospital ER with acute psychiatric and...

  • ....substance abuse patients. I would see the same people again and again coming in and going out. I referred to them as our "frequent flyers". They would be brought in by the police or an ambulance, pretty wacked out. I'd have to drop my sizeable 275 lbs on them at times in order to restrain them and get them secured to a bed. A psychiatric case worker would come down eventually and do an initial evaluation before sending word to the ward itself for a psych doctor to come down.....

  • ....they would be admitted to the psych wing for about 10 days to get straightened out on their meds and when they left they would seem "normal" again. About 30 days later, on average, I would see them again, looking worse than they did when they came in the last time. They would get feeling so much better that they didn't feel they needed the meds anymore and after a couple weeks they were back into the psychotic episodes again and after another couple weeks I would see them again.....

  • ....to address the needs in your community? No He advocated personal action and responsibility. The government was never designed to be a charitable institution. Everywhere the government has attempted to "help" the poor it has promoted, subsidized, and produced more poverty. The Iran Contra thing was a back door way of getting funding to assist the Contras in Nicaragua in their struggle against the encroachment of the communist Sandinistas in our southern hemisphere. While the congress...

  • "Backdoor" as in COVERT. COVERT as in highly illegal. Highly Illegal as in against laws of this country that were established to protect this country. Against the laws established in the United States as in destructive to the U.S.

And in this day and age one could as well consider that giving weapons to Iran to help Contra thugs slaughter farmers so that they can "fight communism" is really really really stupid.

  • .....a revolving door where the patients come in, go out and come back in again and go back out again and come back in again, etc, etc, etc. What do you do with a system like that? The typical liberal solution is to dig deep into "other peoples" pockets, and throw more money at it. Where does that money go? It seems just this morning I saw on the morning news that a state politician, mayor, governor or something has been indicted on charges of stealing state issued "coupons" for low income...

  • .......so they could afford to buy food, clothing and toys for their kids for Christmas. Excuse me..."Winter Festival", lest anyone should be offended. She used them to buy Christmas gifts for her own family to the tune of thousands of $'s.

She was a democrat too!. What a blemish on the compassionate face of the left. I'll bet a rascally conservative drove her to it. Juuust kidding. Now about rent controlled districts. Another wonderfully compassionate liberal idea, but again like ......

  • Comment removed

  • ....most wonderfully compassionate liberal ideas, they are rarely if ever fully though through. These districts were ghettos. The apartment buildings or "projects" these people lived in were nasty rat holes unfit for human dwelling. Really unfit for the rats that lived there too. Landlords didn't give a rats @#%# abouot the renters. All they cared about was collecting a meager rent from the tenants and get their check from the state to make up the difference in what the renter could pay..

  • Bullshit. My grandmother lived in a rent-controlled apartment that was just fine. She ended up living with my aunt after rent-control was forfeited under Reagan because she could no longer afford to live in her home. Yes, it's true that there are a lot of landlords who don't give a rats ass, and Reagan facilitated them by eliminating protective regulations.

  • And as far as the "revolving door" goes, you can thank Reagan for your processing people like they were broken windup toys because of the elimination of adequate care during his rein.

And as far as personal experiences go, I was a homeless benefits coordinator for a number of years at a legal services office which ran on a SHOESTRING budget.

If you want to talk about "meager" then reference it in terms of salaries & funding to do the work for those with the greatest need.

  • You also forgot, flyboy-vagner, since you were there - to mention that in the last year of Carter's presidency, government outlays were running at 21.7% of the GDP, and the deficit was 2.7% of GDP. In Reagan's last year of his presidency, his government outlays were running at 21.3% fo the GDP, with a deficit of 3.1% of the GDP. Reagan spent more money, but he DID shift the casualties of his spending ONTO POOR PEOPLE . But hey, you didn't have to wait in line at the pumps anymore,

  • Maybe you're thinking about old Robin Hood economic policies we had under Clinton. The government tried to convince us that they were Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Another poor interpretation from the text of the story. King Richard was away fighting in the crusades and his younger brother John was left in charge. John was like a glutinous child in a candy store. He believed he had the right (under the divine right of Kings) to to plunder the candy store......

  • ....that other peoples money represented. If anyone complained or rebelled, he'd just send the good sheriff of nottingham to shut their mouths by taking whatever they had left and then throwing them in prison. Robin Hood came along as a hero of the people. When he and his band of merry men robbed a coach, it was a government official or a "tax wagon" laiden with gold and silver extracted from the pockets of the citizenry against their will. Then he would take the plunder and give it back

  • Really he turned the whole damn thing around, hes the best president we ever had everybody says that, the unemployment rate was the lowest since the depression and he created so many jobs man

  • The infamous 100 Days-in-Office has come, gone and new we are past the 200 Days-in-Office and we find that mr oblama's policies and spending are not improving. In Fact, mr oblama's approval rating has slipped to 56%, but his disapproval rating has risen from 30% to 37%. People are beginning to see that mr oblama is just an empty, socialist suit.

  • I'm a middle class citlzen and I haven't seen any relief for me so far. Even that extra "13" dollars a week i was supposed to get in my paycheck is not there. I have a not so good feeling about this new president and his ideas-given that it is still early in his presidency.I hope he succeeds still.

  • Hi bigpanther. It''s great to "Keep hope alive!" as Jesse Jackson would say in his speeches but don't let yourself be fooled. This Presidents rhetoric and his actions are 180 degrees out of phase. As was announced by a few media "talking heads" this is the 1st president elected in this country that we know almost nothing about. He went from community organizer to President in only 14 years. He's smart but a little too ambitious. He's no American in the best tradition that is America.

  • Bush was not a good Republican like his father or Reagan or the next President Gingrich. Obama's approval rating right now is lower than Bush at this time in his presidency.

  • Good job man you know exactly what your talking about, reagan was the man.

  • Mike Huckabee - He faced a $200 million deficit in 2002, but ended his term with a $844.5 million surplus. That's a billion dollar turnaround, taxing-and-spending be darned. Whether some Republicans want to say tax and spend, whatever..that is one heck of an impressive performance, and why he would be a great candidate to clean up the Bush/Obama budget mess.

  • We need a middle class American, who was born here, for president....that would be great!!

  • Hi hesterpiper.......all I can say is Amen to that!

  • I don't understand, I'm middle class, and I did better when Bush was in office. No, I wasn't crazy about him, but I'm just saying that the report opening was not the case for middle class.

  • yea he proves the best government is a small government... conservatives need to win in 2010

  • newt for pres in 2012

  • you cant borrow your way out of debt and you cant spend your way out of a recession

  • Here is the truth... the government doesn't do anything well.

  • Curiously, the Right has no real plans to address the myriad problems facing this nation. They can only critisize, but when it comes time for suggestion, they say only "tax cuts."

  • There is one pure fact and that is, NO ONE can borrow their way out of debt.

Mr oblama is borrowing 3.6 Trillion Dollars. The interest on this loan will be over $100,000,000,000 a year. And who is going to have to pay for this loan? Why it's the American Workers. Oblama gets the money to piss away on non-productive social projects, and we, GET THE BILL!

  • This Gingrich guy really knows whats up..Anyone who praises Obama because of the color of his skin, or because he's a minority, is blinded by truth..I'm not Republican nor Democrat, i just agree with who ever makes more sense, and i gotta give it to the republican party.I don't like nor hate Bush, but everyone hated the fact that there's war and that he spent to much money on the war,,Well, we now have Obama seeking a billion dollar military funding! Obama's a lying two face, Saudi bowing coward

  • Your lack of knowledge is astounding. I question anybody who thinks that the republican party "makes more sense". That's absolutely absurd. What has the republican party done to HELP fix this economic crisis?

  • @Bugsybugs97 Im a moderate too, I don't think the highest of our president, but youve got to realize that u r gonna have to try pretty hard to cut military spending. Besides, congress controls that, not the president.

  • Why wont they get a machine that makes legal money with OUR taxes and print off enuff to cover the ecomony....cuz hell yea it takes money to do that... but not as much as it wud cutting trees down building uneeded buildings

  • why do these ppl think obama this all this...he already said...BEFORE he got in the office that the ecomony was worse than we think it is.

  • ang - Agreeded, and mr oblama, with his dumocrat friends, is one of the reasons why our economy is in the toilet.

  • this little fat rat newt gingrich, it's kinda funny these people say "oh if mccain was president it would take a few years for him to fuck it up more." But obama is in office for six months but he's already fuckin up. i fuckin hate people

  • Leave a mess for the brother, then blame it all on him. I see that one coming from afar.

  • What drives me nuts is all of his double-speak. We're broke, so we have to reform, this, this and this. He has to take all of these drastic measures because we are in so much financial trouble. But wait, two days later and Obama has found money to fund something else. Amazing.

  • Cap and Trade anyone?

  • A guy we used to know in RENO NV. is his hero, Look up the word hyporcrite in the dictionary and you idiots that think Newt is so great will find his picture as well as this simpleton's name. Getting back to the story, this guy we all knew worked for, THE CARRONO FAMILY for 16 years making 2.50 an hour at the SIVERADO HOTEL and CASINO. In the end he ended up with $10's of thousands in properties investments under NEWT's new idea's Thanks Don Willie and Gary NEWT's idea's paid off. Good Day???

  • GO NEWT

  • Comment removed

  • You're a idiot? Do you masturbate to Obama photos?

  • Chip Reid is unintelligent and out of touch with reality

  • If you listen to Newt talk about the terrible views of socialist Barack Obama, you realize, as I do, that a President Gingrich would be the exact opposite of President Obama. This country sorely needs a real leader as President, and Newt Gingrich would make an incredible President, probably even better than Reagan. Another thing that would help would be to completely clean out Congress and elect all new, fresh people, and enact term limits for both houses of Congress.

  • ha ha ha ha

  • I agree with your comments on Newt completely. He is the one person in the political arena who actually has solutions to our problems because he mixes an intellectual approach with an ear for listening to real Americans. That is something that few politicians in Washington are doing lately. I can't say that I'd agree with your "socialist" assertion regarding Obama, but he certainly is moving toward government control in a very swift manner. Very disconcerting.

  • Gingrich, who was shown the door by his own party not longer after his disasterous showdown with Clinton [ not because he was diddling an intern while simultaneously advising us he would bray about Clintons sex crimes each and every day] comes out of the bubble wrap a monumental hypocrite and opportunist. He is the same histrionic fool who predicted the conflagration in Lebanaon would lead to WWIII and clings to economic policies that have recently brought us to the brink of ruin. What a resume

  • I think a few years ago a member of the nation of islam called him "just another Georgia cracker."

  • Newt is my hero too. He seems to be the only one who understands the economy in Washington.

  • ha ha ha ha

  • Newt Gingrich is my hero.

  • ha ha ha ha ha

  • mr oblama is assuming that businesses will continue to work hard, or even harder for him and his socialist government,,, so they can pay much higher taxes. Yea, That's Going To Happen!

  • No he assumes they will work harder for they own mother fukkin asses. we already loosing shit. thank bush and ppl like u and others get on screen and act like obama did all this...

  • Everyone should watch the 'Obama Deception' before they comment any more on what this administration wants and doesn't want.

It's all facts and they are undisputed.

  • Newt's becaoming a Catholic this Easter. Welcome, Newt.

  • 3.5 Trillion dollar loan, forced on the American People. Below is a listing of how much interest we will be paying in just the first year;

    90 - 175 Billion per YEARLY

    7.5 - 14.5 Billion per MONTH

    1.7 - 2.8 Billion per WEEK

    246.5 - 479.5 Million per DAY

    10.2 - 20 Million per Hour

    $170,000 - $333,300 per MINUTE

    $2,833 - $5,550 per SECOND

We get nothing for this $90-175 BILLION.

  • Increasing taxes on any energy only increases the cost it will take in order for the common man to keep his house with electricity and warmth. Why is it so impossible for people to see this fact. When you tax the rich, they find ways to just make up for that tax increase to keep thier way of living, and its the middle class that pays for it.

  • Why not lower legal restrictions on nuclear power plants? Why not more than $50 billion to nuclear power? Why not also just spend this money upgrading military equipment? All of these would give some employment? What's the idea for class warfare? Why shouldn't we try the flat tax? What did the graduated income tax plan to accomplish? What has it accomplished? Go nuclear! Go flat tax!

  • I am all for nuclear as long as they have a safe way to do it. I don't see ANY state jumping up and down saying they would be glad to store the waste. Why should it only be at Yucca? When someone in the Senate says they wouldn't mind that they store the waste in their backyard, nuclear will remain on the back burner. Flat tax? I am all for it!

  • So tell a poweer engineer how to generate power to fuel all those conveniences that you demand...lib

  • What conveniences are you talking about. There are a lot of ways to generate power. Please advise!

  • Oh, nothing special like your heating, cooling, refrigeration, water, sewer, communications, you know, "conveniences". And how would you propose powering these or would you do without them...bet not

  • Half of San Onofre is shut down right now. Nuclear plants do not last forever. I am for everything, just so it is not dangerous. As for drilling, I think that is the wrong way to go. I also think that there is no such thing as "clean coal". People can heat their houses by drilling into the earth and using that heat. I am a "LIBERAL" and one of the definitions of that word is "Open-Minded". And that I am!

  • Today, 03/30/2009, the DOW just dropped 254 points. Surprise, Surprise!

  • when you have a Congress that is not consistent with balanced budgets or surpluses and has their plate full with meaningless issues that are not putting the country first, then it is a formula for an eventual collapse. Perhaps a collapse is what we need right at the moment to make people finally wake up and realize the fiscal irresponsibility is key to destruction of what was once a great nation. I'm hoping some states step in in the not so distant future and fight against Congress and Obama.

  • X23 - Remember, we put their happy ass in congress, and we can remove them just as easily.

  • I'm sure we can. That is if you are referring to our voting system :) I guess the saying goes, what the public giveth the public can taketh away. Appreciate the comment UBB.

  • X23 - Clarity, Yes! We voted them in, we can vote them out - if they are not representing us.

    Thanx

  • I've just been gathering a lot of opinion to determine how best to vote in the future. I think I know what to look for now in a representative. For me it is no longer about a two party system as I'm looking away from that. I be waitin' until then :) And yes get rid of the happy spending Congress and get some fiscal common sense back into the House and Senate.

  • Gingrich blissfully ignores the core reason for our economic nightmare; the failure to tightly regulate major corporations. Canada is one of the few economies not to have been savaged by this global affliction as they did not allow for rampant deregulation. Now it is on the Obama administration to clean up after the 'elephant' and be certain they will tightly regulate those busineses that become 't
