I have an arachnoid cyst on my brainstem but it has also displaced the artery on the right side of my brain. They said they cant operate unless it becomes severely life threatening. So for the moment I just have to suffer with the problems of the pockets of fluid destroying part of my memory and motor functions on the left side of my body.
Tht neuro-consultants in Bradford UK will not operate on my Arachnoid cyst because they insist that they 'cause no symptoms' Even though the cyst covers the whole right side of my brain. The intracranial pressure, noise and electrical arcing across my brain is very painful and effects the quality of my life in a profound way.. What do I do when the only people that can help me; refuse to acknowledge that there are painful symptoms? And still; my optimism and family keeps me going.
This video was so interesting. A great deal of similarities with my own personal experience so far with a benign parasagittal sinus meningioma. Mine was first discovered in May 09, I had gamma knife in July 09 and now in 03/11 I may be looking at surgery. A big life altering experience for me, my work, my friends and family. I could tell you lots of stories too. Neurosurgeons have my utmost respect.
