I slept with my contacts sometimes because the eye doctor said I could and now I have a red spot on my eye it doesn't hurt or anything but does it ever go away??????!!!! Please somebody help it's been 3 days and i need to knowwww
@purplepanda621 damn man it sounds like peronixia.. your gonna start seeing worse and worse then eventually you will get blind... it'll takes about half a year until you're completely blind.. im sorry.
I have slept with my contacts in for a a year on and off.. today my eye is blood shot and it stings like a cat scratched me in the eye, and hurts in the light. I have no money to see a doctor .. what shoud i do?
when i slept with them the only thing that happened was that around my eyelids i had a lot of those green stuff but i just cleaned my face in the morning and that did it
funny to read how some have left their soft contacts on for days, months, or a couple years. i've left mine on for 5+ yrs and my eyes are perfectly fine. no pain, no damage, & contacts blocking oxygen to your eyes is a myth. Even after 11yrs recent eye examination w/ photo of retina checked out very healthy. My proof beats theory.
I'll admit first several days were a bit annoying as your contacts dry out & need to be moisturized. But after that phase, say goodbye to removal & saline solution!
@Soaker555 I'm not kidding. The only time it was necessary to put on new contacts is when debri damages the lens surface. Tiny rocks can scratch the surface of the contact lens which can create a tiny depression that can become annoying - like driving a car with a small round crack on your windshield.
It's also time to put on new contacts when the edges finally give out and tear. The tiny tear on the edge of the contact lense will irritate your eye.
JESUS JESUS JESUS shit! all ive seen is negativeness im so scared i cant sleep i want to be reborn....i hate the fact that i was born with deffective vision!
I have been sleeping with mine in for 2 years, fortunes it hurts when i wake up or blink but i just clean then and thier better... Eh.. I guess it jUst depends on the lens:)
@L2DG OMG ME TOO. Literally I've been wearing them for two months, not taking them off at all. I just took them off and I feel like I did some damage... :/
@jharvey33 Ive been wearing lenses for 15 yrs, I always take little half hour/hour long naps in them, you cant help falling asleep, its not necessarily bad as long as you take them out immediately after waking. I find that they stick to my eyes and after I get them off my eyes are dry, itchy and red- DONT scratch them, just use some refresh drops to help with that. I would never recommend sleeping for more than an hour tho cos of oxygen deprivation which can harm your eyes- google for more info
i slept with my contacts like 2 days in a row and like on the second day i got a horrible headache. i took lots of pills and it still hurted. it hurt alot more when i looked up and when i moved my head. i thouht it might be the contact lenses so i took them off and in 5 min i was like normal.
OKAY, i am a filmer, and i have worn perscribed color contact lenses since i was 11, im now 17, and when i was 13 i started sleeping with my contacts in, the first time it kinda hurt, especially putting them back in,, but i have gone 6 months with out ever taking them out and i take mine out 3 times a year and thats it,i have done this for 5 years plus, WTF is my problem, it just is easyer to leave them in, i have no pain what so ever im just a normall kid but i wonder why i can do this.
I am watching this video because I just woke up after sleeping w/ them, after removing its red/sharp pain. I crashed and was too sleepy to remember :p
Yeah the soft ones probably don't have much risk. I have really soft ones and I have slept with them. The only thing that happens is just your sight looks blury when you wake up. And My sight looks blury anyway when I wake up xD
Last night I feel asleep with my contact lenses in, woke up and there was some kind of build up in the corners of my eyes. :( Eyes don't feel good atm, a few days without wearing lenses will help.
omg ow..i was gonna try those contacts were u sleep with them and when u wake up u take them off and u can see clear for the say with out classes or conacts but now that i see this...never mind
i have been sleeping with mine in for years also. i dont even change them for like a couple months i just drop solution in once and a while to keep them clean. my doctor even said my eyes were fine.

i've been sleeping with contacts for years. every morning i use drops to remove protein build up and have had no serious problems. sometimes something gets in, but then i just take it out and clean it real good. when the lens gets old, it can feel funny, so just open a new pair.
i didn't sleep in my contacts or do anything different, but my eye was sore after i took them out. then i woke up in the morning in agony. 3 days later, 3 trips to the hospital, i've got 2 corneal ulcers on my left and eye can't see at all out of it. wearing really dark sunglasses cos the light burns and i've gotta do eyedrops every half an hour. not fun haha
(Continued) I don't suggest this to anyone, and if anything I was just lucky and will not "press my luck" again, even though I wasn't trying to. I wasn't myself and many other basic needs I was not attending to. It's like go through a red light and not getting aught, does that mean that you should brag and do it again? Does anyone know what could have caused this (my eye not getting infected or damaged?) ?
I know your not supposed to and I stopped, but before I was on medication for depression (pretty extreme, could not function, eg. get out of bed) I sometimes slept with my contacts for two weeks, until I had to switch to the next pair. I was so shocked that I didn't do any damage (I recently when to the optometrist, and he said my eye were very healthy), the only side effect I had was dry eyes.
i need some help i slept in my contacts today for about 3 hours i think and nothing happened and i was like OH CRAP and i tok them out i didnt feel pain or anything my eye just felt lazy and then now they feel good and normal as always anyways i need some information please help
are you joking? the guide book which I got when I first got contacts was that its impossible for it to go behind you eye because theres a membrane stopping it =S

If you sleep with contacts, they won't move due to REM's? Wont they get stuck way in the back of your eye?

i have been sleeping with my contacts since idk when, maybe two months and haven't taken them off since and my eyes are perfectly fine.
the contacts don't stick to my eyes and my eyes don't really get dry.
my eyes are just a little itchy here and there.
the only thing i've noticed different since i have been sleeping with contacts is that i can see green-ish veins on my eyelids (when closed only)
