You know what's cool about PCs though? You can make your own media towers and servers with inexpensive parts from Fry's. You don't even have to be tech-savvy. Just match up the colours and turn the thing on.
PC all the way I've had the same hard drives in 3 home built PC revisions over the course of 5 years and they haven't gone bad yet. My own customer support has almost always been better and less expensive than OEM warranty plans. Thats why I don't buy OEM machines. You get more for your money in hardware that way anyway.

Oh and about the xbox, if you do get a new one just take the hard drive off the old one and put it in the new one. It's not hard at all. If you don't have a hard drive just recover your gamertag on xbox live and you should be able to download the stuff again and they don't charge you again.
you can actually go to itunes, then go to the store tab then click on "view my account" then you can look at your purchase history. it will tell you what apps you have downloaded. it gives you an index of all the apps purchased for your iphone.

wow "hard drives fail sometimes" i admit, they can crash or get screwed because of a virus or something, but they dont just suddenly stop working unless say a magnet is near it, or hard drive is hit by something or anything like that but i highly doubt it would. i've heared of mac hard drives not working suddenly but never windows or linux.

wow "hard drives fail sometimes" i admit, they can crash or get screwed because of a virus or something, but they dont just suddenly stop working unless say a magnet is near it, or hard drive is hit by something or anything like that but i highly doubt it would. i've heared of mac hard drives not working suddenly but never windows or linux.

viruses cannot damage hardware.
you need to distinguish hardware and software.

Actually, certain types of malicious software CAN infact damage hardware by means of the software.

you need to understand what i meant, i know that but when you buy a computer from microsoft they make there hard drives different then mac does, also a virus can, there's some viruses that can change how much power your computer uses and overheat your hard drive, stop the fan etc.

microsoft doesnt even make hard drives they just make software. and they are the same as mac

you should use rsync it should be a bit better than cp
dd is also a little better than cp for copying files. in windows use robocopy its free from microsoft
