Rule of thirds? Um, no. You used an angled shot in the second clip. The characters were in the centre, not placed on a thirds format.

this video would be so much better if you actually explained the Rule of Thirds. And why is the first one not using the rule of thirds? It's just having the actors looking into the camera The second one is just off to the side ( and a little too far off to the side) and was shot badly. You should apply the rule of three point lighting.
