About 3/4 of the way through the training, they did a surprise search, the idiots that brought their phones either shover them in their asscrack or got them confiscated and NJP'd.... Some babys can't hack iot for 4 weeks without talkin to their g/f's who are fucking somebody else anyways. MCT was NOT fun.

@Actll the navy is definitely best for going into the medical field. i just got out of boot camp, and all the doctors and corpsman down there were from the navy. but the marines is by far the biggest challenge. its all up to you. you could always do marine corps for one enlistment and switch to the navy

@WhosAtroll if it hasnt been answered: school of infantry is both mct and itb. youll go to mct if you are non infantry and youll go to itb (infantry training battalion) if you are an 0300

Might be a stupid question, but since MCT companies are generally going to be made up by the same Marines who graduated together as a company from PI, are the platoons going to remain the same as they were at boot camp, or is all that reorganized?

@Firestorm2154 no...before bootcamp they choose their MOS...if they're a grunt (according to their MOS) they go to infantry school which (as mutch as I know) is longer and harder but alot more usefull in combat then just regular MCT...the pog's go to mct and after that they go to a school for specialization in their mos (not quite sure what it's called in marine lingo)

@anteracmacash Yes and no, from what I understand. They'll generally secure it and give it all back when you graduate. Phones they give back as priveleges during certain parts of training for 5-10 minutes or so. As for cameras, this guy was probably using the one on his phone. Standalone cameras would be secured like other electronics.
