Green lantern was chosen to be a space cop by aliens, so he uses alien technology, Captain Marvel gets his power from a wizard so his powers are magic-based. B'wana Beast's seem like they're magic based because they're so difficult to explain and "it's magic, you don't have to explain it" chemical waste does chemical things. turn animals into swirly green spirals it does not

I just really find it fruitless to note that there is a task force of superheroes in any particular genre and call it a copy. It's a well rehearsed practice these days to accumulate and assemble superheroes into a faction for justice.
