Protestant Bible came from Roman Catholic, they just translate and change nor omit some words. What i know many protestants are coming home and they are the defenders of Catholic Faith and became priest as well, such Dr Scott Haan and his wife,Steve Ray,Mark Shea oh lot's to mention, maybe search and watch Journey Home by Marcus Grodi
I have learned so much from these video series on the false religion of catholicism. I had no idea that they were so lost. If they truly aren't of Christ's sheep, that is a BILLION people going to eternal fire. How sad is that?
Pray for a catholic this week that they have a relationship with Jesus Christ and repent of their sins against the church of Christ.
@cr500blur I implore that you research your roots in your faith, as you may have been deceived into believing your particular church is the one true church. YouTube videos are definitely not the best source of information. All devoted Catholics strive for a 'relationship with Jesus Christ'.
@cr500blur You are correct. We must remember though that the church is not divided, and it is invisible and visible. Therefore, if someone across the world believed in Christ they would recognize the universal church that we share. I'm simply asking if your church produces the sacraments or the church of Christ. As well as, was your church established by Christ or a man of this world. I'm only looking for you, as you and me both recognize our duty as devote Christians.
@Izicanplay - "...was your church established by Christ or a man of this world."
Are you not reading what I type? One more time.......
CHURCH ------------> Christ's Sheep or Believers
NOT
Any organization of MAN. Got it? It is not important what building I go to on Sunday. It is a place of worship. It doesn't need authority. It just needs to follow the Bible.
@cr500blur Yes, your correct. However, your missing my point. If Christ has established a church, we are to honor it; it is his bride. Furthermore Jesus' church is one. The church that is universal bears four marks: One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. We must come to this realization that all other church aren't the "true" church of Christ. That much is fact. We also know that the Church is also necessary for salvation. Jesus states this. If you disagree, pray for God to give you the answers. GB
@Izicanplay - "all other church aren't the "true" church of Christ. That much is fact."
Except, that you are misled about the meaning of church in the Bible. Why you can't understand what the Bible CLEARLY teaches, I don't know.
Oh well, the lost will stay lost as long as the depend on man. We Christians depend on our Lord and His Word, and we have fewer problems and tons of hope.
Oh yea, here's a conundrum for you. I pray to God all the time and ask for answers.
@cr500blur Again, I agree with you that Jesus lives. How can you say that I'm lost? I'm doing just as the Lord says, to the best of my ability, which is exactly what he wants. I'm open minded and have ready ears. You frustrate me. Why won't you at least be open to what I'm saying? I'm not saying your going to go to hell. But I am saying that you could be doing things better because you would have the unity of Jesus and his bride. Do you understand what that means?
Depends on which interpretation of lost you're using. I meant lost as in confused, not UNSAVED, though it is possible. Jesus' gospel is clear, but man's version is what muddies the waters. I could ALWAYS be doing things better, but that is because I am encased in the flesh and will always sin. But the atonement of Jesus has given Christians the gift of grace and eternal life. This does NOT change from day to day.

@cr500blur Well sir, your pretty stern in your arguments. I will take the liberty to end this feud because it is now circling into what your interpretations are.
Facts: Jesus has saved us. People, inspired from God wrote the canonical scriptures. The sole church that Christ established shall be interpreters of those scripture, wherefore there isn't confusion among it's believers. These are facts. Lastly, we are done debating on those topics and as I am open to the truth, I pray that your are 2
@Izicanplay - "your pretty stern in your arguments."
That's what happens when people online are rude.
"The sole church that Christ established shall be interpreters of those scripture"
Nope, not a fact...just the opinion of the ancient RCC. Nice try.
Hopefully, you will be open to the truth that is present in the Bible every day, speaking of the gospel of Jesus Christ, who died ONCE for our sins, that you may have hope of everlasting life. These are the facts.
@cr500blur Furthermore, "Clearly teaches..." You sound like your deluded forefather Luther, who tried to interpret the bible himself - 1500 years after the Church had already been established. Do you see why you are misled? Sola scriptura isn't valid. You must have authority of the Church of Christ to interpret it, so please stop telling me that I need to read my bible, as I'm quite familiar with it. May God Bless you.
@Izicanplay - "You sound like your deluded forefather Luther..."
Sorry, Luther is not my forefather. Trying to label me as a protestant won't work. I am a follower of Christ and His gospel. Not being a catholic doesn't make me a protestant like Luther.
"Do you see why you are misled?"
Not being a catholic does not make me misled. You are following MAN. I am following Christ.
@Izicanplay - "...stop telling me that I need to read my bible, as I'm quite familiar with it."
Everyone should read the Bible, especially those that purport to know what the Bible says but get their information from MAN.
For example, John 3:16. OBVIOUSLY, no one needs MAN to tell them what the simple but all-encompassing scripture means, now do they? You are simply trying to prove the authority of the RCC organization. Think about it...you're arguing against the Bible.
II Cor 11:3 - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Simplicity. Straight forward. Paul wasn't wrong. Verse 8 talks about other churches (ekklesia). I thought there was only one church back then.
There is...one church, the body. Col 1:24 is pretty clear. Christ is the head of the body (church). Acts 5:14 (believers).
Anchor says, "No you don't" ....then Dr. Martin said "I don't deny that" ....not even a harmony among the opposition. Therefore that anchor should create a new protestant religion, according to what he believes :-)
@cr500blur What for you ask? Ah, well you can see that they(anchor and Dr. M.) are not agreeing with their stances on that particular position, and if you do your history homework you'll find out that most forms of Christianity divide in their beliefs. So I was merely suggesting that if they don't see eye to eye, why not just make another church?...And on the contrary to your quote, "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matt
@Izicanplay - "...not agreeing with their stances on that particular position..."
What does that have to do with another church? There is only one church of Christ and that is the body of believers. You're just trying to justify the age-old stoopid rhetoric of the protestants being wrong. We're not protestants....we're Christians.
A billion people fits 'wide is the way' much better in the scripture. Time for you to read your Bible and spit out the kool-aid.
@cr500blur Well, it has everything to do with the fact that because people can't/won't accept the church, you know - the one that Jesus himself established? I was merely playing devil's advocate. So because the anchor doesn't agree with the doctor's views, why should he stay in his church? Just make a new one with a different name. It won't really matter, because any church that was made by man himself is a farce. So what were you saying about the Catholic Church and it's believers?
@Izicanplay - "...the fact that because people can't/won't accept the church..."
You'll have to be more specific. If, by church, you mean RCC or CC, then, of course, they don't because it is anathema. If church means 'the body of Christ', like the Bible says, then, of course, Christians accept it. Don't know where you got that from. Christians are part of the church.
You obviously don't know the meaning of church...
ekklēsia - an assembly of Christians gathered for worship.
@cr500blur On whose authority are you speaking on?! I did not say Christians are not part of the church.. Church means a convocation. We the members of his church are indeed one in and through him. The church whom Jesus established through the twelve apostles, namely Peter, to proclaim the gospel; and through the Holy Spirit makes his church, one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. A Universal Church for people as the body of Christ. So as I said, on whose authority are you speaking on?!
Jesus suffered all that was needed for us to be saved. There is no suffering needed on our behalf to be saved. Now, that's not to say that in following Christ there will be no suffering because the world will persecute us. Weren't the whips, the beatings, the crown of thorns, carrying the cross to Calvary, and the nails enough? I'm telling the truth, if the GOD of heaven and earth cannot save you, then no one can.
Fr. Pacwa and the Catholic Church wants us all to SUFFER for God. Suffering for God seems to be the basis for Caltholic belief. Because Purgatory is for those who have not "died to themselves" and need the "extra fire" of suffering to be fully cleansed. Then why would Jesus say in Matt. 11:29-30 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a TREE out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 10:4 They DECK IT WITH SILVER AND GOLD; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
The Holy Spirit who is infinite but he doesn't tell you to pray to anyone but God, otherwise it's called necromancy which is one of the abominations the pagans routinely committed before Constantine Christianized them and their practices for political purposes.
0:53 - 2:08 Fr. Pacwa destroys their simple arguments with scholarly accuracy. He destroys the myth of the disorganized Protestants, who hilariously believe that all they have to do to be granted eternal salvation is:
1. Say "I Love and Accept Jesus Christ as my Savior!" and
2. Truly believe that "Christ is God" [without doing any of His Will on Earth]
I guess that justifies just about anything, even the obvious hatred John Ankerberg has toward Catholics & others not like him.
@legalman1980 - "Pacwa destroys their simple arguments with scholarly accuracy."
You could not have stated a more incorrect assumption. In fact, you are so far off target, it's not even worth teaching you a lesson. Spit out your kool-aid, think for yourself, and leave your stoopid ad hominem attacks for someone else. Oh, and another thing.... the typical catholic labeling of those outside of the apostate church as protestants is a waste of time.
I have to say Father Pacwa simply walks through these debates rigorously crushing all the arguments placed against him. It's almost a pity on the opposing pair.
@sgal88 The fact that you have come this far, and may have actually sat and watched the videos to this point, and still spewing your dogma, shows the god of this world, has blinded you. May God have mercy on you.
@Haukman66 It is interesting. We are to be like Christ yet demand justice for the crime of the evil doer. Yet, you say that God will not be like that on the day of our judgment. You have a blind viewpoint of judgment and you think that you x year of wisdom can outweigh the 2K years of history and tradition that the Catholic Church has had. You are blinded by your pride and ignorance. Matt 5:48, Jesus specifically command us to be perfect. You have issues with God not me.
@sgal88 Nope. I have issues with your false doctrines, that have damned countless souls to hell! You wont see it, till you take your papal blinders off. Christ paid the debt, and because of that, I have his righteousness. My sin, ALL of it, was paid for it at the cross. Thats why Hebrews 10:14 states- For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified! What?!! He has perfected us? Yep!!! Notice, HAS is a past tense word!!
@sgal88 Did I ever say there is no need? What I am saying, is what the bible states. God commands all men everywhere to repent! But men cannot do this, unless God has, by the preaching of the gospel, changed that mans heart. Check out Ezekiel 36:25-27. It is speaking of the New Covenant, that God will make. Its all God doing it. The result is verse 27. "And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
@Haukman66 You wanted to talk about past tense and in that very statement, something that has been needs no forgiveness, which even you must admit. Second why does Paul say in 1 Cor 3:15 that "If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire." What fire is he speaking about in this afterlife? It is not heaven for there is no more suffering and hell is forever and they are not saved. Oh wait, I know...that is purgatory.
@sgal88 LOL. One verse, and you draw purgatory from it. The text is talking about a persons works. God will judge a believers works(Romans 14:10-12, 2Cor. 5:10) and reward them accordingly(Matt. 6:1-6, 16, 18; 10:41-42). Those works that are not done with the foundation of Christ, will be burned up!
@Haukman66 Oh my gosh! Even you are trying to pervert what the Church Fathers have taught. That specifically speaks about on the day of judgment. To suffer loss means to be punished which even at the end of the verse, "yet so as by fire," implicitly implies a fire for purification. Those works that he did wrongly, the very works that are done, in your words, " not done with the foundation of Christ," will need to made up for. What are those works? Sins.
Another thing,OH mY Gosh! U don't even read the context. Yes, "for all time those who are being sanctified!" You probably did not see it. Let me capitalized so that you can see it better. "for all time those WHO ARE BEING sanctified!" This is a process! Something you ignorant ignore. Also I have another thing...
@sgal88 OH MY GOSH!! YOU neglected to read carefully!! Let me capitalize it so YOU can see it! FOR BY ONE SINGLE OFFERING HE HAS(THAT IS IN THE PAST) PERFECTED(THEY ARE ALREADY PERFECTLY RIGHTEOUS) FOR ALL TIME those who are being sanctified. Sanctification is a process, a lifelong one, in which we are conformed into the image of Christ! But you neglected to see, that in Gods eyes, we are already PERFECTED!
@sgal88 Romans 8:1- therefore there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus! Hmm...very clear! Believers are condemned for sin nomore! But keep on believing you have to work off those sins.
@Haukman66 Straw man! Duh, those are are saved will not be condemned. Those condemned are in hell for ever. Also, you have to use all of Scripture in its entirety not just take one verse out of context. The devil believes yet he is condemned for all eternity. Faith is not the supreme act but charity AkA Love.
@sgal88 "Also, you have to use all of Scripture in its entirety not just take one verse out of context." Isnt that what you just did with 1Cor. 3? I think so.
"The devil believes yet he is condemned for all eternity." Yep, I agree. You didnt watch these videos, did you? This was addressed clearly. Even the "priest" agreed with the protestant view, on saving faith! LOL. Love doesnt save anybody! Faith is the catalyst. We are saved by Grace THROUGH FAITH! (EPH. 2:8,9)
It is because these verses clearly speak about purgatory. Not only that but I have 2K years of tradition to back me up in comparison to your 43 years of "wisdom." Obviously faith is quintessential to being saved but not the solely thing that will save. How many of us actually have faith and are damned. What are the two principle commandments. To Love God and neighbor. If we fulfill this, then we are truly going to be saved, because to love God and neighbor is...
@sgal88 those verses in no way speak of purgatory. Because it doesnt exist. You again, place your trust in men, and tradition, and not Christ. Purgatory didnt even come about till pope gregory. You obviously didnt pay attention to the debate. How many centuries went by with nothing on it?
How many have faith, and are damned? Thats just it. Its who your faith is IN, that saves. You, do not have faith in Christ for what He has done. Only the pope.
@Haukman66 You are completely wrong. Praying for the dead, has even its roots in Jewish tradition. In Macabees, we see people praying for the dead and making offerings for them. So you are completly wrong. Second, the idea of purgatory has existed long before pope gregory. In Tertullian, A Treatise on the Soul, in Origen, Homilies on Jeremias and many others.
@sgal88 Macabees, is not scripture my friend! Do some research please. You are obviously getting the stuff you posted from wikipedia, which is not a valid site for truth, or catholic answers. LOL. Where in "real" scripture, does anyone pray for the dead? That is a pagan practice. Did any of the apostles pray for the dead? NOPE. Did Christ pray for the dead? Nope. Better yet, did anyone in the NT quote anything from Macabees? Or the Apocrypha? NOPE.
@Haukman66 Macabees IS Scripture, Your Protestant father, Luther took it out thinking himself wise above what the apostolic authority. Second, those that are with God are not dead at all but are alive with God. Remember when moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus. Try again.
@sgal88 You screaming macabees IS scripture, doesnt make it true. The jews never recognized it as scripture. NEVER. Those that are dead, ARE alive, and with Christ. Didnt Paul say that? Absent from the body, present with the Lord? Nothing about cleansing oneself. Christ is He who cleanses us. 1John 1:9- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness! But you deny the scriptures dont you?
@Haukman66 Me scremaing Macabees in Scripture doesn't make it true? Huh? I am screaming what the Church for 1500 years had and still have until Luther came around. Second, you said, "Those that are dead, ARE alive, and with Christ." Thank you for proving my point. Protestants are usually dishonest or try to beat around the bush with that one.
@sgal88 Which protestants say, people are dead? Once we are in Christ, we are alive! Romans 6:11- So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Before that, we were all dead in sin! Slaves to sin.
Again, your faith is in the "infallible" Roman catholic church. Tell me, was the burnings at the stake, scriptural? The pope is infallible right?
Then they are not dead but very much alive since they are in the spirit. Second, remember how Christ mentioned how the angels rejoice over the repentance of one sinner? They know very well our actions here in Earth. As for burning people at the stake. Lets go with that flow. For starters, it was the secular states which was Catholic that burned people on the stake. But alos your Protestant CHurch Fathers did so as well. But setting that side, God demanded the death in the OT. Do u disagree?
@sgal88 Weak. Very weak arguments. The angels who rejoice, do so, because they are led by God. They are created angelic beings! It says nothing of the sort about humans.
God demanded the death penalty, yes, but that was the OT! Should we go out and stone anyone now, who is not honoring their parents? Comon!!
Straw man! The angels are always directed by God but it does not mean that the angels do not know what is happening on the Earth. As in revelation speaks of the saints looking down what is occuring on Earth. Your second paragraph is also straw man. Typically an atheist would object to God because of his command to kill, yet you support God's command to kill but do not acknowledge that a secular authority do the same thing? Your second paragraph also makes it seem as though God changed his mind.
@sgal88 Pay attention. I never said, that the angels do no know. I said, Humans who are in heaven, do not know. Go back and read! Your revelation reference, as with everything you have said, way off. Revelation, is the end times. That is not now! That is the coming of Christ again.
Again, you have no understanding of basic bible! It was the Roman Catholic church, that burned, and tortured those who disagreed with them. John Hus ring a bell? Tyndale?
*Facepalm* Even a Protestant would be facepalming at u. 1st, there is no difference among angels & saints. Angels and humans will co-exist in the same place with God. Second, the I made an error in verse. It is in Hebrew, before Revelation. In Heb. 12:1 the “cloud of witnesses” (nephos marturon) that we are surrounded by is a great amphitheatre of witnesses to the earthly race, and they actively participate and cheer us (the runners) on, in our race to salvation.
@sgal88 I am amazed, we are debating angels. Nice rabbit trail BTW. Hebrews 12:1, did you see that little word at the beginning of the verse? "Therefore". Paul was concluding what he said throughout chapter 11! He dealt with all those who had "faith". They give witness of the value and blessing of living by faith!! But you take it to a whole other level! You say, they are "actively participating, and cheer us on"! Umm.. where is that in the text? Not there.
@Haukman66 Matt 7: 21-23 "Not Everyone Who Says "Lord, Lord" Will Enter the Kingdom." Faith is not only going to save! How many have had the faith and have gone to hell. Faith is the beginning not the end.
@sgal88 Really, do you pay attention to anything? Those in Matt. 7, are those people such as yourself, who do not have "saving faith". They had faith in their works!!! "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles?" Yep, Works, works, works!! But works dont save. As James says, Faith, WITH works is what saves. But the point is, that a true faith, will have works. We are justified by Faith. Accounted righteous.
@sgal88 I am saying what protestants have always said. We are saved by grace, through faith! NOT by works. Works come as evidence you have faith. But YOU, are working trying to merit favor with God. That is a different gospel. Did the thief on the cross, have time to go do works?
As for Macabees not being quoted from NT Scripture. Let's see. In Matt. 24:15 - the "desolating sacrilege" Jesus refers to is also taken frm 1 Macc. 1:54 and 2 Macc. 8:17. In Luke 24:4 and Acts 1:10 - Luke's description of the two men in dazzling apparel reminds us of 2 Macc. 3:26. In
John 10:22 - the identification of the feast of the dedication is taken from 1 Macc. 4:59.
@sgal88 LOLOLOL!! These verses do NOT QUOTE FROM macabees. "Luke's description of the two men in dazzling apparel reminds us of 2 Macc. 3:26" is not quoting it!! I could say, 2 men in dazzling apparel, reminds me of a party in the kids movie "Rio". LOL. Nice try though.
@sgal88 1Peter 2:24- He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, the we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds we are healed. Does that verse say "some" sins? NOPE.
@Haukman66 a) To love God above all and it helps to increase your faith in God and b) as long as we love our neighbor as we love ourselves, we won't do them harm. That is what will save. Hence, you hear ppl say, that we will be judged on how we loved.
@Haukman66 ...to say. In Matt12:32 Jesus clearly said: "And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come." What does that insinuate. Oh I know. That there is forgiveness in life and in after death. There is no forgiveness in Heaven, for all are purified and made perfect and none in hell so then where is there still forgiveness...Purgatory
@sgal88 Did you watch the videos here? Are you that blind? Hebrews 9:27 says, it is appointed man to die once, and after that "judgement". There is NO purgatory. You negate the cross with that silly dogma.
@ChrisDaron - "Protestants have thousands of denominations that contradict each other..."
Wrong....point. We know of ourselves as Christian. Different denominations are because of very few differences in interpretation. At worst, the RCC is the apostate church.
Common sense, huh? You mean like reading the Bible instead of following man. Time for you to wakeup before it's too late.
@ChrisDaron - Christianity is the body of Christ. Find it. Don't rely on MAN. He is the ROCK and the cornerstone. He is all you need and the gates of hell shall not prevail against His gospel.
@ChrisDaron - Christianity is the body of Christ. Find it. Don't rely on MAN. He is the ROCK and the cornerstone. He is all you need and the gates of hell shall not prevail against His gospel.

hahahahaha i love that mitch guy.. he has the real christian authority to interpret the Bible... evangelicals/protestans are delluisioned.... and this is coming from a muslim... GOD LOVES PEOPLE WHO DO GOOD WORKS ... what is wrong with that !! o_O ...
Matthew 5:16 " let your light so shine before men, that they may see *your* good deeds and praise your father in heaven"
Do we not do things to gain glory and honor for our father which is in heaven? Yes of course we do... John 12:26 - god the father honors those who serve jesus the christ...
John 7:18 - We must do things that honor and glorify the lord jesus christ as well to even be acknowledge by the father, we should never do it to gain glory for ourselves...
Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. A soul in purgatory are they spirit or flesh.? If spirit there can be no furthur sanctification applied. If they are still flesh , no flesh will inherit the kingdom of God. Listen Ankerberg the priest is saying salvation begins with freewill which insidiousy he claims having virtue to choose. The priest is saying free will is not generic but good to choose He then is cracked not broken. His salvation is fixing character in sanctification

I understand the Priest perfectly .He begins with himself to choose by free will grace ,God gives. He does not see that as an impossibility . Man is depraved he does not have virtue to choose God. The priest believes he can see what some do not see the grace to do works to make him possibly saved, .Ankerberg and Martin miss the Priest point. Salvation begins with the priest himself understanding God's grace by a beautiful freewill choice. Salvation is powerless to receive no free will attains it
@FBCVyouth I assume you did not understand my answer I don't believe in free will.Plesase read again.I'm saying free will does not have virtue it is impossible
Ok now I am totally confused - Christianity-Vs-Catholicism? I thought Catholics were christians and didn't all trinitarian christian denominations come from the Catholic church? Why are they debating? So how can they all act like one when attacking other religions but be seperate and different behind everyone's back so to speak. This is really interesting. All I can say is I thank God for a prophet.
One thing is sure, pagan roman catholics have come up with clever excuses to defend their demonic doctrines. However they are always willing to neglect scriptures in order to defend their lies.
The Bible says: Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
If there is remission of sins, then there is NO NEED of any suffering in purgatory, because there no more offering to be made!
@miguelObandoR -- We do not subscribe to "once and done" salvation like you do; salvation is a lifetime proscess and for the elect, it is continued in Purgatory. And Purg is the work of God no less.
While there are some differences between this priest's beliefs and ours, me being a LDS-Christian, I admire him for standing up to Walter and silver hair. Walter talks against nearly every branch of Christianity. Silver hair is essentially saying all we have to do is sit back and do nothing which is completely false. James says to do nothing and know righteousness is to sin.
@majinish "me being a LDS-Christian" As long LDS believe doctrines like God being an exalted man, that every Mormon male having the hope of becoming a god, get their own planet and have never ending celestial sex, that the church needed to be restored, that Smith was a prophet, that THEY are the true church and every one else are in church's that are wrong, corrupt and a abomination, they will never be considered Christian anymore than a JW. By the way, silver hair has a name. John Ankerberg.
@TheJpgr1958 "As long LDS believe doctrines like God being an exalted man" You realize this is a Christian belief right? It's not new. It came from early Christianity.
" that every Mormon male having the hope of becoming a god" John 10:34-35
"that the church needed to be restored" Acts 3:20-21
"that THEY are the true church " Jesus Christ is the proof
Whether you agree or disagree doesn't count. We are Christians and that's all there is to it.
@majinish "As long LDS believe doctrines like God being an exalted man." " You realize this is a Christian belief right?" Nope, sorry. Historic Christianity NEVER believed or taught that God was once a man and was exalted to a God. God is pure spirit, John 4:24. Before I answer your other passages, can you answer me this..Psalm 91:4 states "He will cover thee with His feathers and under His wings thou shall trust." Who is the He in this passage and how is this He described?
For my fellow Christians who claims to know ‘the whole truth, nothing but the truth’. Pls read Gal 5:13 “ For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but THROUGH LOVE SERVE one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!”– Love means sharing and giving. .that many Christians denies to do.
For Catholics, Gal 5:1-5 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Indeed I, Paul, say to you that ...You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” Bondage means: laws/regulations.
@javilink7 For the life of me I can't see why you Papists don't know a good scam when you see one. Give MORE money to the "church" - and "as soon as the coin in the coffer rings, the soul from Purgatory springs!" The Adversary laughs all the way to the bank as you pat yourselves on the back, giving yourselves a portion of Christ's glory (see 3:47). Even to allow yourself one iota of the credit is to completely discredit Christ. Oh, you humble Catholics, with your prayer shawls and penance.
If you please, Dr. Martin showed beyond all reasonable doubt the Father Pacwa's theology violates logic, reason and coherency, especially when he contradicts himself in numerous areas. Believing in vicarious atonement done by a human, and not solely by Christ, attempts to usurp Christ's sovereignty and role in the salvation of every person.
Read the scriptures, listen to the dialogue, pray for revelation and wisdom and see the light!
@SanderDolce Church was founded in 1863 in Michigan by Ellen White, William Miller and an orbes guy but the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ in the usar of 33
They dont have to do anything. they are saved!!!! They are so saved that in 4:31 of this video walter understand scripture denying other scripture. Unbelievable!!!! In this video 7:06 shows the hate of the one true church. he wants to create a new tradition(confusion) by not accepting what the church teaches and has been teaching. In 7:47 walter is so worry about what the world thinks about him. Father pacwa tells him whats more inportant in 8:13
The priest did not win he came off flustered and unprepared. He should have stuck with Catholic Theology since that is what our church is founded upon. We are not scripture based, we are based on traditions. Is that hard to understand?
I like the way that John and Walter are constantly throwing questions (like testing him to see if he contradicts himself) to Fray Mitch Pacwa as if they have nothing else to offer in regards to the topic...and father Pacwa is sharing the light of the Word made Flesh and all of the wisdom of the HolySpirit with them and our brothers in the audince!!! It reminds me of the pharisees questioning Jesus...
1. The Bible is the inspired Word of God (1 Tim. 3:16, or around there). 2. 1 Tim., Paul in his epistles. 3. Where does Paul say that? I remember reading that the foundation of the truth was the Holy Spirit in us and in Scipture. 4. Ephesians. 5. Only God can forgive sins. The scripture that says what is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven refers to spirits being imprisoned by work of the saints. God bless.
1) I asked for objective reasons why you consider the Bible inspired. If all you can do is quote the Bible when asked why you trust the Bible, you have a very serious problem.
2)I asked for the scripture that says the Bible is the ONLY rule for faith. There is a big difference between an "Only" statement and an "All" statement.
3)1st Tim 3.15
4)No, the words faith and alone are next to one another in Ephesians. The only place where those words are next to one another is James 2.
Everytime he spoke the truth, they jumped in like wolves and attacked him. Each time, he spoke boldly in proclaimining the truth oof the faith, never giving in nor sinking to their level of insult and arrogance. Now THAT, is a man of God.
5:34 - It says that Dr. Walter Martin was representing 'Orthodox Christianity'. What a farce. He is representing Evangelical Protestant Christianity! The only 'Orthodox' Christian faith is that which has been carried down through the ages, since the time of the Apostles, for over 2000 years! This is seen in the Apostolic Catholic churches of the Roman, Byzantine, Antiochean and Alexandrian rites. Though obviously, this is a Protestant show---with an obviously biiased approach.
What scripture can you provide that purgatory exists? The parable about the man being in prison until he paid the last penny is about being angry with your brother, not purgatory. God bless.
Ankerberg is an idiot. A tv talk show host trying to argue with an academic Jesuit. Fail. lol. Good on Fr Pacwa. They ambushed him and didnt even let him complete much of his arguments.
@nexxt87 If I may interject...Calling someone a name as you did, makes your credibility go into the trash. You can disagree with a person, but when you start in with the name calling, keep in mind what 2 Peter 3:15 states: "Be ready to give an answer for the faith and hope that lies within you, yet with gentleness and respect." I don't believe calling some one an idiot is respectful at all do you?
@TheJpgr1958 Yes. You are correct. My moral credibility certainly suffers when do call people names. The credibility of my argument, however, remains intact. Thanks for pointing that out though, will be a tad more careful next time :)
@nexxt87 Thanks for your response and stating that you "will be a tad more careful next time." Great. I do have a question for you. I know this thread is about purgatory, but before we discuss that, I would like to ask the following: how can one have true peace with God? Thanks.
@nexxt87 Thanks for your response. If one does what Psalm 34:14 states, then the logical question is why would one have to go to purgatory at all if one lived by that dictate? And if you are to be consistent, how did the thief on the cross do what Psalm 34:14 states? All he did was cry out to the Lord, died a few hours later, and was with Jesus. The thief didn't end up in purgatory. Yet, a Roman Catholic who does what the Psalm states, does end up in purgatory. Is that really good news?
@apopyalips i think that u misunderstand what fr. pacwa means by tradition. he is referring to apostolic tradition, that is, the teachings of the apostles, and not some ethnic or cultural practices. and we mustnt dismiss this form of tradition, for it was this that aided us in forming the doctrine the trinity, the dual nature of Chrsit and so on, and not to mention it was this very tradition that determined which books should be included in Scripture. this is all he is referring to.
It's not about religion, it's about a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Protestantism is Biblical, Catholicism not.
The Bible is the truth, from cover to cover, you don't need a priest or pope or sacraments or justifie yourself to do good works.
Good works are good, no doubt about it, but not to claim it for your owm '' ego ''......'Just LOVE! GOD IS LOVE! When a born again Christian ( Child of God ) poors out GOD POORS BACK INTO HIM...LOVE and ANOINTING.
why bother start praying for those in purgatory if you will never know whether they came out of purgatory or not and made it to be heaven, i would say that is a waste of time praying. If they are unsure of themselves getting in, how are they sure of the saints to the point of praying to them for help on earth.
@policydeb8er321 Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, but after this the judgment.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."-Matthew 28:18-20. In which New Testament passages are people taught to obey everything that Jesus commanded? Who, in Christian history has done this?
This debate is good except for the host's continuous intervention. It seems that Catholics and Protestants believe the same thing but these particular Protestants continuously want to say the opposite of what Fr. Pacwa tells them.
He clearly says that the only power we have is to accept Jesus or deny him. Protestants believe this as well, so why does the host keep saying that Catholics have more power than the choice of accepting Jesus?
Base Christology and Soteriology on the Red-Letter Teachings of Jesus. Follow the Great Commission Given by Jesus in Matthew 28. WWJD? Just do what Jesus said to do. Why has Churchianity missed this for 2,000 years? Actually - I don't think it was missed. I think it was avoided and suppressed. Is there a single church in the last 2,000 years which is based completely on the Words of Christ? Did Paul Teach the Teachings of Jesus - Or Did Paul Create a New Theology?
@redletterchurch If you really understand Paul, who was speaking in the style of a Jewish Rabbi, then you will see that Christ and Paul are giving the same message to different audiences.
@bryan09nix How often did Paul quote Christ - and then explain what Jesus said - in the style of a Jewish Rabbi? Does Paul have veto-power over the Words of Christ? Once again - which church - or even major religious figure - in the past 2,000 years - has treated the Teachings of Jesus as being Supremely Authoritative?
@redletterchurch I would absolutely love to discuss this with you, but this is probably not the best medium for discussion. email? What you will find is that we, as gentile believers in messiah, are Paul's audience. Paul had to explain some principles in a different way than Jesus did because they were different audiences. Jews (including Jesus) never thought that God bound the Torah on the gentiles. Paul said that Torah cannot save you. Jesus said that Torah cannot save you. Only grace can.
@redletterchurch Show me where Paul contradicts Jesus specifically and I would love to be educated if I am wrong, or educate you so we can come to a greater understanding of truth.
@bryan09nix Jesus -"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharsees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:20. Paul - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."--Ephesians 2:8,9. To be declared right with God while at war with God is irrational. Works = Ritual Observances. Righteousness = Responsibility.
@redletterchurch Israel was saved by grace through faith at Sinai. Paul is not teaching anything new. Jesus and Paul do not contradict each other. And remember, Jesus is talking to Jews, Paul is talking to goyim. No Jew wanted to put Torah on Gentiles. Because Paul has a different audience, his message is different NOT contradictory.
Lol this is typical of non-Catholics who argue against the One True Church. How funny that when I was younger I was always intimidated by protestants with their way of arguing, but now I see that they always keep using the same old tricks over and over again. Stick to one topic, don't change topic to topic in order to make the Catholic confused. I ask all fellow Catholics and those who seek the truth, do not fear these people, for they are more afraid of you.

Pray for a catholic this week that they have a relationship with Jesus Christ and repent of their sins against the church of Christ.
cr500blur 3 weeks ago
@cr500blur I implore that you research your roots in your faith, as you may have been deceived into believing your particular church is the one true church. YouTube videos are definitely not the best source of information. All devoted Catholics strive for a 'relationship with Jesus Christ'.

Jesus' body of believers IS the true church.

Any organization of MAN. Got it? It is not important what building I go to on Sunday. It is a place of worship. It doesn't need authority. It just needs to follow the Bible.
Simple.
cr500blur 2 weeks ago

Jesus LIVES.
cr500blur 2 weeks ago
@cr500blur Again, I agree with you that Jesus lives. How can you say that I'm lost? I'm doing just as the Lord says, to the best of my ability, which is exactly what he wants. I'm open minded and have ready ears. You frustrate me. Why won't you at least be open to what I'm saying? I'm not saying your going to go to hell. But I am saying that you could be doing things better because you would have the unity of Jesus and his bride. Do you understand what that means?
Izicanplay 2 weeks ago
@Izicanplay - "How can you say that I'm lost?"

Wrong.

Izicanplay 3 weeks ago
@Izicanplay - "...not agreeing with their stances on that particular position..."
What does that have to do with another church? There is only one church of Christ and that is the body of believers. You're just trying to justify the age-old stoopid rhetoric of the protestants being wrong. We're not protestants....we're Christians.
A billion people fits 'wide is the way' much better in the scripture. Time for you to read your Bible and spit out the kool-aid.
cr500blur 3 weeks ago
@cr500blur Well, it has everything to do with the fact that because people can't/won't accept the church, you know - the one that Jesus himself established? I was merely playing devil's advocate. So because the anchor doesn't agree with the doctor's views, why should he stay in his church? Just make a new one with a different name. It won't really matter, because any church that was made by man himself is a farce. So what were you saying about the Catholic Church and it's believers?
Izicanplay 2 weeks ago

I'm telling the truth, if the GOD of heaven and earth cannot save you, then no one can.
remely12 2 months ago 2

You have issues with God not me.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Nope. I have issues with your false doctrines, that have damned countless souls to hell! You wont see it, till you take your papal blinders off. Christ paid the debt, and because of that, I have his righteousness. My sin, ALL of it, was paid for it at the cross. Thats why Hebrews 10:14 states- For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified! What?!! He has perfected us? Yep!!! Notice, HAS is a past tense word!!
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 So there is no need to ask for forgiveness from God and ever look to Heaven for that matter, correct?
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Did I ever say there is no need? What I am saying, is what the bible states. God commands all men everywhere to repent! But men cannot do this, unless God has, by the preaching of the gospel, changed that mans heart. Check out Ezekiel 36:25-27. It is speaking of the New Covenant, that God will make. Its all God doing it. The result is verse 27. "And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 You wanted to talk about past tense and in that very statement, something that has been needs no forgiveness, which even you must admit. Second why does Paul say in 1 Cor 3:15 that "If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire." What fire is he speaking about in this afterlife? It is not heaven for there is no more suffering and hell is forever and they are not saved. Oh wait, I know...that is purgatory.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 LOL. One verse, and you draw purgatory from it. The text is talking about a persons works. God will judge a believers works(Romans 14:10-12, 2Cor. 5:10) and reward them accordingly(Matt. 6:1-6, 16, 18; 10:41-42). Those works that are not done with the foundation of Christ, will be burned up!
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 Oh my gosh! Even you are trying to pervert what the Church Fathers have taught. That specifically speaks about on the day of judgment. To suffer loss means to be punished which even at the end of the verse, "yet so as by fire," implicitly implies a fire for purification. Those works that he did wrongly, the very works that are done, in your words, " not done with the foundation of Christ," will need to made up for. What are those works? Sins.
sgal88 3 months ago
Another thing,OH mY Gosh! U don't even read the context. Yes, "for all time those who are being sanctified!" You probably did not see it. Let me capitalized so that you can see it better. "for all time those WHO ARE BEING sanctified!" This is a process! Something you ignorant ignore. Also I have another thing...
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 OH MY GOSH!! YOU neglected to read carefully!! Let me capitalize it so YOU can see it! FOR BY ONE SINGLE OFFERING HE HAS(THAT IS IN THE PAST) PERFECTED(THEY ARE ALREADY PERFECTLY RIGHTEOUS) FOR ALL TIME those who are being sanctified. Sanctification is a process, a lifelong one, in which we are conformed into the image of Christ! But you neglected to see, that in Gods eyes, we are already PERFECTED!

Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 Straw man! Duh, those are are saved will not be condemned. Those condemned are in hell for ever. Also, you have to use all of Scripture in its entirety not just take one verse out of context. The devil believes yet he is condemned for all eternity. Faith is not the supreme act but charity AkA Love.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 "Also, you have to use all of Scripture in its entirety not just take one verse out of context." Isnt that what you just did with 1Cor. 3? I think so.
"The devil believes yet he is condemned for all eternity." Yep, I agree. You didnt watch these videos, did you? This was addressed clearly. Even the "priest" agreed with the protestant view, on saving faith! LOL. Love doesnt save anybody! Faith is the catalyst. We are saved by Grace THROUGH FAITH! (EPH. 2:8,9)
Haukman66 3 months ago
It is because these verses clearly speak about purgatory. Not only that but I have 2K years of tradition to back me up in comparison to your 43 years of "wisdom." Obviously faith is quintessential to being saved but not the solely thing that will save. How many of us actually have faith and are damned. What are the two principle commandments. To Love God and neighbor. If we fulfill this, then we are truly going to be saved, because to love God and neighbor is...
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 those verses in no way speak of purgatory. Because it doesnt exist. You again, place your trust in men, and tradition, and not Christ. Purgatory didnt even come about till pope gregory. You obviously didnt pay attention to the debate. How many centuries went by with nothing on it?
How many have faith, and are damned? Thats just it. Its who your faith is IN, that saves. You, do not have faith in Christ for what He has done. Only the pope.
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 You are completely wrong. Praying for the dead, has even its roots in Jewish tradition. In Macabees, we see people praying for the dead and making offerings for them. So you are completly wrong. Second, the idea of purgatory has existed long before pope gregory. In Tertullian, A Treatise on the Soul, in Origen, Homilies on Jeremias and many others.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Macabees, is not scripture my friend! Do some research please. You are obviously getting the stuff you posted from wikipedia, which is not a valid site for truth, or catholic answers. LOL. Where in "real" scripture, does anyone pray for the dead? That is a pagan practice. Did any of the apostles pray for the dead? NOPE. Did Christ pray for the dead? Nope. Better yet, did anyone in the NT quote anything from Macabees? Or the Apocrypha? NOPE.
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 Macabees IS Scripture, Your Protestant father, Luther took it out thinking himself wise above what the apostolic authority. Second, those that are with God are not dead at all but are alive with God. Remember when moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus. Try again.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 You screaming macabees IS scripture, doesnt make it true. The jews never recognized it as scripture. NEVER. Those that are dead, ARE alive, and with Christ. Didnt Paul say that? Absent from the body, present with the Lord? Nothing about cleansing oneself. Christ is He who cleanses us. 1John 1:9- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness! But you deny the scriptures dont you?
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 Me scremaing Macabees in Scripture doesn't make it true? Huh? I am screaming what the Church for 1500 years had and still have until Luther came around. Second, you said, "Those that are dead, ARE alive, and with Christ." Thank you for proving my point. Protestants are usually dishonest or try to beat around the bush with that one.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Which protestants say, people are dead? Once we are in Christ, we are alive! Romans 6:11- So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Before that, we were all dead in sin! Slaves to sin.
Again, your faith is in the "infallible" Roman catholic church. Tell me, was the burnings at the stake, scriptural? The pope is infallible right?
Haukman66 3 months ago
Then they are not dead but very much alive since they are in the spirit. Second, remember how Christ mentioned how the angels rejoice over the repentance of one sinner? They know very well our actions here in Earth. As for burning people at the stake. Lets go with that flow. For starters, it was the secular states which was Catholic that burned people on the stake. But alos your Protestant CHurch Fathers did so as well. But setting that side, God demanded the death in the OT. Do u disagree?
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Weak. Very weak arguments. The angels who rejoice, do so, because they are led by God. They are created angelic beings! It says nothing of the sort about humans.
God demanded the death penalty, yes, but that was the OT! Should we go out and stone anyone now, who is not honoring their parents? Comon!!
Haukman66 3 months ago
Your second paragraph also makes it seem as though God changed his mind.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Pay attention. I never said, that the angels do no know. I said, Humans who are in heaven, do not know. Go back and read! Your revelation reference, as with everything you have said, way off. Revelation, is the end times. That is not now! That is the coming of Christ again.
Again, you have no understanding of basic bible! It was the Roman Catholic church, that burned, and tortured those who disagreed with them. John Hus ring a bell? Tyndale?
Haukman66 3 months ago
*Facepalm* Even a Protestant would be facepalming at u. 1st, there is no difference among angels & saints. Angels and humans will co-exist in the same place with God. Second, the I made an error in verse. It is in Hebrew, before Revelation. In Heb. 12:1 the “cloud of witnesses” (nephos marturon) that we are surrounded by is a great amphitheatre of witnesses to the earthly race, and they actively participate and cheer us (the runners) on, in our race to salvation.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 I am amazed, we are debating angels. Nice rabbit trail BTW. Hebrews 12:1, did you see that little word at the beginning of the verse? "Therefore". Paul was concluding what he said throughout chapter 11! He dealt with all those who had "faith". They give witness of the value and blessing of living by faith!! But you take it to a whole other level! You say, they are "actively participating, and cheer us on"! Umm.. where is that in the text? Not there.
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 Matt 7: 21-23 "Not Everyone Who Says "Lord, Lord" Will Enter the Kingdom." Faith is not only going to save! How many have had the faith and have gone to hell. Faith is the beginning not the end.
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Really, do you pay attention to anything? Those in Matt. 7, are those people such as yourself, who do not have "saving faith". They had faith in their works!!! "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles?" Yep, Works, works, works!! But works dont save. As James says, Faith, WITH works is what saves. But the point is, that a true faith, will have works. We are justified by Faith. Accounted righteous.
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 You proved my point. Thanks! LOL!

@sgal88 I am saying what protestants have always said. We are saved by grace, through faith! NOT by works. Works come as evidence you have faith. But YOU, are working trying to merit favor with God. That is a different gospel. Did the thief on the cross, have time to go do works?
Haukman66 3 months ago

Haukman66 3 months ago
@sgal88 1Peter 2:24- He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, the we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds we are healed. Does that verse say "some" sins? NOPE.
Haukman66 3 months ago
@Haukman66 a) To love God above all and it helps to increase your faith in God and b) as long as we love our neighbor as we love ourselves, we won't do them harm. That is what will save. Hence, you hear ppl say, that we will be judged on how we loved.
sgal88 3 months ago
@Haukman66 ...to say. In Matt12:32 Jesus clearly said: "And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come." What does that insinuate. Oh I know. That there is forgiveness in life and in after death. There is no forgiveness in Heaven, for all are purified and made perfect and none in hell so then where is there still forgiveness...Purgatory
sgal88 3 months ago
@sgal88 Did you watch the videos here? Are you that blind? Hebrews 9:27 says, it is appointed man to die once, and after that "judgement". There is NO purgatory. You negate the cross with that silly dogma.

@Haukman66 WOW! Since when does that negate there being a purgatory. Try again.

Catholicism has, is, and will always be ONE in the same Body of Christ.
Protestantism came from Catholicism. The Bible is Catholic. Catholicism goes from the year 33. Protestantism came centuries later.
Common sense, anyone?

I understand the Priest perfectly .He begins with himself to choose by free will grace ,God gives. He does not see that as an impossibility . Man is depraved he does not have virtue to choose God. The priest believes he can see what some do not see the grace to do works to make him possibly saved, .Ankerberg and Martin miss the Priest point. Salvation begins with the priest himself understanding God's grace by a beautiful freewill choice. Salvation is powerless to receive no free will attains it

While there are some differences between this priest's beliefs and ours, me being a LDS-Christian, I admire him for standing up to Walter and silver hair. Walter talks against nearly every branch of Christianity. Silver hair is essentially saying all we have to do is sit back and do nothing which is completely false. James says to do nothing and know righteousness is to sin.
majinish 9 months ago

@majinish "As long LDS believe doctrines like God being an exalted man." " You realize this is a Christian belief right?" Nope, sorry. Historic Christianity NEVER believed or taught that God was once a man and was exalted to a God. God is pure spirit, John 4:24. Before I answer your other passages, can you answer me this..Psalm 91:4 states "He will cover thee with His feathers and under His wings thou shall trust." Who is the He in this passage and how is this He described?
TheJpgr1958 9 months ago
For my fellow Christians who claims to know ‘the whole truth, nothing but the truth’. Pls read Gal 5:13 “ For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but THROUGH LOVE SERVE one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!”– Love means sharing and giving. .that many Christians denies to do.
CMunshi 9 months ago

5 random questions to which I have never heard a protestant give a satisfactory answer:
1)What objective reasons do you have to consider the Bible to be inspired literature?
2)Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the only rule for faith?
3)Why does Saint Paul call the Church the foundation of truth?
4)Where is the only place in the Bible where the words "faith" and "alone" next to one another.
5)Why did Jesus give his apostles the authority to forgive sins?
sonofmary1 1 year ago
God bless.
munku121 1 year ago
@munku121

@nexxt87 Thanks for your response and stating that you "will be a tad more careful next time." Great. I do have a question for you. I know this thread is about purgatory, but before we discuss that, I would like to ask the following: how can one have true peace with God? Thanks.
TheJpgr1958 1 year ago
@TheJpgr1958 Be at peace with God's creation - yourself and others, and in doing so, you find yourself with God.
Psalm 34:14 says, “Turn away from evil and do good. Work hard at living in peace with others.”
That about sums it up.
nexxt87 1 year ago

This debate is good except for the host's continuous intervention. It seems that Catholics and Protestants believe the same thing but these particular Protestants continuously want to say the opposite of what Fr. Pacwa tells them.
He clearly says that the only power we have is to accept Jesus or deny him. Protestants believe this as well, so why does the host keep saying that Catholics have more power than the choice of accepting Jesus?
ebolingUtube 1 year ago
Base Christology and Soteriology on the Red-Letter Teachings of Jesus. Follow the Great Commission Given by Jesus in Matthew 28. WWJD? Just do what Jesus said to do. Why has Churchianity missed this for 2,000 years? Actually - I don't think it was missed. I think it was avoided and suppressed. Is there a single church in the last 2,000 years which is based completely on the Words of Christ? Did Paul Teach the Teachings of Jesus - Or Did Paul Create a New Theology?

This is a good and interesting series, however, I am disappointed by the interviewer's behavior. They were extremely biased
