This means, if i have the P7R4 with PCI host card, i cant use my PTHD PCI X cards on the PCI slots even if i replace the host card with the PCIe PEHIFX1 ?
I have to get the board set PE6NE-1 ?
How can i still utilise the P7NE board set on my MacPro.I reckon that it only uses the PEHIF X1 host card but what what about the P7NE backplane ?
if you have a new MacPro Intel computer and you would like to use a 7slot 64bit/33Mhz Chassis ( with two cables), it is not going to work at all even if you replace the host card with a PCIE host card.
WHY? The chip (which is DEC) on the 7slot 64bit is not compatible with MacPro.
The solution is to upgrade to PE6R4-I and this can be done by replacing the entire board, cable and host interface card, you need to have PE6NE-I board set upgrade kit as shown in the video tutorial.

If you have an old 13slot unit you can still do the upgrade using the PE6NE-I board set upgrade kit plus an additional back slot panel.

This upgrade also applies to 7slot 64bit/33Mhz and 13slot 32bit/33mhz
