Not really the whole issue is around Oil , people don't realize how dependent we are on this substance.How can you fly helicopter , jet , tank, truck etc. Without oil?In order the 7 largest oil reserves are Saudi Arabia , Canada , Iran, Iraq ,Kuwait ,UEA and Venezuela. We (I'm canadian but we benefit from the american market) already control 5 of the largest source on the planet. The new military bases in Columbia are a good sign of what's going to happen in Venezuela.
So if you take off Venezuela there is only 2 serious sources left: Iran and Russia(the 8th largest reserve). The reason why we are getting our REE from China is the same for everything else we get from China.The work force is cheaper, the environmental law are inexistent. We could also say it have to do with the low cost due to the easy extraction (like oil in the middle east) but this is not a major issue.
The major REE production site in U.S was closed due to cost and pollution. In the 2002 survey I've read they were talking of 2 sites in Australia and one in north Canada as major source of REE. I don't know much about this subject (in fact I know nothing except what I've just read) but if it was truly a major issue they would have talk about it. By they I'm speaking of media like the Huntington post and Democracy now

Every country and all 50 states needs their own non-profit cooperative central bank. There should not be any reserve currency anywhere on the planet for trading in any commodities. Not really the whole issue is around Oil , people don't realize how dependent we are on this substance.How can you fly helicopter , jet , tank, truck etc. Without oil?In order the 7 largest oil reserves are Saudi Arabia , Canada , Iran, Iraq ,Kuwait ,UEA and Venezuela. We (I'm canadian but we benefit from the american market) already control 5 of the largest source on the planet. So if you take off Venezuela there is only 2 serious sources left: Iran and Russia(the 8th largest reserve). Dealing with Russia is nearly impossible (by dealing I mean forcing them to do what we want) anyway Russia don't have much reserve left in the long term due to the rate at which they are exploiting them. Thanks for pointing this out I had to inform my self on the subject. I've just read 2 survey from the U.S department of interior and there is no real problem. The reason why we are getting our REE from China is the same for everything else we get from China.The work force is cheaper, the environmental law are inexistent. We could also say it have to do with the low cost due to the easy extraction (like oil in the middle east) but this is not a major issue.

I have to agree with China, Iran does have the freedom to have a nuclear program. Perhaps, the United States should be more understanding. I personally have no fears about Iran's nuclear program for electrical energy or military strengthening because Iran is not a world threat. : )

I appreciate your comment, however, I am not sure where you purchased your crystal ball. The United States is being a hypocrite in suggesting that Iran does not have the rights to arm itself with nuclear weapons when in fact the United States has many such weapons. : )

I appreciate your comments, you are an amazing debater and we must debate more world issue. The United States must lead by example. First, the United States must get rid of all there nuclear weapons before they have the right to ask other nations to do the same. Well, we all know that this will never happen, so, the world will face this problem over and over again because each nation will follow the example of the United States and rightfully so. Feel free to debate more, i enjoy it. : )

"The United States must lead by example." - why? Why not lead as a wolf in sheep's clothing? If the US was truly a "moral" country, then I could agree with your thesis - but I don't believe they are.. (I also would argue that NO country is truly moral and all are selfish) ..
I believe the US is interested in global dominance and anyone who stands in the way is a threat .. Most people don't want to see the true nature of this world.

Exactly, why can Iran Not have nuclear weapons? No one can be sure about their intentions, but damn,,US is the only nation who used nuclear weapons on others, what morals do they have!?heh. but yeah Iran can make a living exporting the oil and functioning based on nuclear energy. The thing is that US fears Iran changes the oil currency to Euros and it ruins their business..(dont forget Saddam threatened to change it) but theyre too used to cheap oil and will do anythin to keep it cheap(..own it)

The world needs to start trading goods and services with their own currency. Having one currency for 50 states or the European Union does not work. Every country and all 50 states needs their own non-profit cooperative central bank. There should not be any reserve currency anywhere on the planet for trading in any commodities. Trade in gold & sliver maybe. Iran should only trade crude oil for gold & silver or whatever they want.

Let say California's economy is booming and Michigan's economy has crashed you need to be able to set interest rate accordingly to how the economy is acting. Michigan needs lower interest rates to increase spending while California needs higher interest rates to prevent a bubble and crash or boom & bust economics. With one currency you cannot micro manage regions or states. Low interest rates in CA, NV created the Housing Bubble.

If you had said down with fiat currency and back to the gold standard id say u were onto something. but you are not. The system rewards the mega rich and thats where you have to look. its a shakedown.
