  • someone should do remix of 6:25

  • This song makes me wanna fuck a chick while driving a motorcycle 120 mph with a huge philly blunt in my lips!!!

  • This album was roof of slash

  • This song has lyrics, is not only a solo...

  • Long Live Izzy!!!

  • @ScarletMagenta, @b3nnyspain- A simple resolution to the argument is to look at the song credits. Typically, the primary writer is listed first. On this particular song, Slash is listed first. But it would be better to say that they wrote songs as a unit, so the argument is moot.

  • @KalosGun that seemingly would be the resolution, although, i don't think that gnr practiced that formula 4 dishing out writing credits. if one was to google or look at old cd inlets, from guns cds, particularly uyi, he'd find that axl's name is listed last on every song that he was credited w/ writing. so, imo axl either had the least to do w/ writing songs, or maybe the man was just making an attempt at humility.

  • AXL ROSE 200 PROOF GENUINE INDIANA KICK ASS.

  • LIKE A TRAIN IS GOING ON ITS WAY

  • cant not mention the composition OUTSTANDING

    DO U AGREE?

  • OMG Still listening to this piece of art justt amazing so thrilling so powerful yes POWERFUL and a very very ROCKy and HEAVY and NICE and you add the rest ...

  • such an underatted song

  • I read recently, the LA times; which after being asked questions about a RnR HoF reunion, and others pertaining to previous gnr line ups; Axl made reference to slash, according to the times, "slash was a late arrival to gnr, and apart from a few key riffs, the guitarist was much less involved than rose and stradlin". For me, after listening, and loving chinese, I think - even with the LA times spins and context issues - that Axl is correct.

  • @b3nnyspain I am trying to understand your comment but I am lost in the words. Who exactly meant what by stating that quotation?

Can you explain it a bit?

  • @ScarletMagenta Hope it helps, slash, only was asked to join gnr after tracci left to reform his band, and gnr was booked on CA tour. axl and izzy did most of the writing for this gnr lineup - izzy melodies, axl lyrics. lots of people get writing credits for their contribution to a final product, regardless of how much contribution was made. when i listen to CD, and also new slash , i tend to agree with LA times quote of axl, that besides a few key riffs... he wasn't as involved

  • @b3nnyspain Hmm... Although I understand what you mean, I don't really agree with Axl said. Slash might not be as involved (though that is a relative term) but still, his solos and riffs have a HUGE contribution to their world wide fame.

Ask anyone that listens to rock music which songs they know of Guns N Roses. Their answers will be WTTJ, Sweet Child, and November Rain.

Without Slash's guitarwork, I don't think these songs would reach the popularity they have now.

  • @ScarletMagenta My comment wasn't aimed at minimizing slash's efforts - particularly those pertaining to the solos that he laid down - they're beautiful, and i love them. I don't, however, think that slash wrote any of those solos in his dreams or just screwing around, and then went to the rest of the guys with it, and then they wrote around it. imo, the solos are a reflection of, and supplemental to the song, not the other way around.

  • @b3nnyspain FYI, "Locomotive" is written mainly by Slash, and the others sort of built around his guitar work.

  • @tgv1975 that's right on-if it's true, i've never heard anything of the sort b4, other than that nim-wad, previously ranting about how slash wrote the entire song by himself. And, i have long wondered why izzy didn't play rhythm 4 this on UY2. the guitar is rad, and i think that it's an actual gnr metal song.

  • @b3nnyspain You don't play guitar huh?

  • @DrOprahVonPenishat nope; too busy getting pussy, I never was one of those nerds-although, i know plenty of them-who had pick up a guitar and strum delila to get some broad to notice him.

  • @b3nnyspain Yeah, you're super cool.... the ladies must love you.

  • @b3nnyspain The band was such a huge hit because they had a fresh style and were extremely different. Vocals, those days weren't as powerful and meaningful, neither was there so many catchy riffs or long, intricate multiple solos in songs. And I don't think those could have been achieved as rapidly without Slash's writing ability.

  • @b3nnyspain sure, that's why axl got like 4 different guitarists to play on chinese democracy - to look for a few key riffs

  • @cuilo like 4, but actually several more when you're considering the entirety of the album, but i don't think that anymore than 3 or 4 on any particular song; and actually that # has to do with guitar overdubs and so forth. when it was or slash/izzy/gilby, there were overdubs to make the guitar sound more enunciating and w/o void. I heard that axl decided to go with the extra guitar in the band so that live would sound more like studio. imo CD, and slash new stuf validates what axl said

  • @b3nnyspain you're complicating it too much - all axl was looking for was a guitar that sounded like slash's... except it's irreplaceable.

  • @cuilo r u drunk and stoned trying to read man?seriously though, when slash 1st left, axl was tryin to replicate his sound. which as u were getting at, it wasn't gonna happen, but as CD started to progress, axl had his own idea of how he wanted it to sound. thus, he hired guitars-whether or not he was going to use their material, or even if they were going to be in the band-to lay down l riffs and licks 4 particular songs,eg navarro, b may, both of whom had never drawn comparison b4 2 sla

  • Master piece!!! ... old GN´R ... the best in this fuc&%n#$ world

  • Axl wrote most lyrics on the albums, but several members also came up with killer lyrics.

Mr.Brownston, written by Slash & Duff (on their brown-addicton of the period) is only one of so many.

    GnR Ruuuuuuulz'!!! Feeling 12again! :o)

  • gran robo a telonius Monk

  • I bought me an Illusion and I put it on the wall, I let it it fill my head with dreams and I had to have them all

  • Damn, GNR, the band you just can't stop liking, even though you know Axl is a nob

  • @Mr3Chords That's the GnR creed dude. You are now part of our secret society.

  • parabens um dos melhores

  • Axl wrote all the lyrics and vocal melodies, Slash wrote the guitar.

  • the solo at the end is unbelievable! Oh & the rest of the song rocks too!

  • One of the best from Use Your Illusion II

  • Listening to ending solo while stoned, I can die in peace

  • @orav333 id say its his most underestimated tune

  • @orav333 I share your feeling, dude.

  • fucking awsome

guns n roses original are the best

  • I bought me an illusion and I put it on the wall

I let it fill my head with dreams and I had to have them all

  • @RPBiohazard Slash wrote this entire song by himself, talk about genious

  • @Zorichai I'm pretty sure it was Duff, Slash and Axl together..but all the guitar was played by slash, he's the only guitarist in this song. And that's pretty awesome.

  • @RPBiohazard naw dude, I have the album Use Your Illusion II, and in the booklet it says writers "Slash" this is the one song he wrote all by himself

  • @Zorichai Slash wrote every single guitar piece in this song, every one of them from lead to bass. Not the other things though.

  • @ScarletMagenta no dude, I have the actual CD and in it it says writers: Slash, this is the one song Slash wrote by himself, trust me I know, Use Your Illusion II is my fav album of all time, thats why I never forget the anniversary; September 17, 1991.

  • @Zorichai Everywhere I look it says "Slash, Rose" as writers.

It might be referring to the guitar work when it says "Slash wrote by himself".

I know that he wrote every single guitar work in that song, but I doubt he wrote the lyrics. Lyrics are pure Axl.

  • @ScarletMagenta slash has some pretty good lyrical ability... in producing lyrics not singing them lol

  • @RatedXR6 And which songs lyrics exactly did he write?

Because I know Locomotive isn't one of them, if there are any.

  • @Zorichai Uh no he didn't write the lyrics or vocal melodies, or the piano part at the end.

  • @RPBiohazard sounds like Axl

  • Jeff Beck would have played that with them in that unbelievable show in Paris, how good would that have been I cannot imagine, I jizz in my pants at the mere thought that they'd trade solos with Slash in the end.

  • You know...I'd like to hurt her...but my conscience always tells me no...

  • Their best post A.F.D. song by far.

  • they may of only had 4 albums up to the Use your Illusions, but i have never come across a band that has written consistently good rock'n'roll songs as Guns n Roses. I don't mind the new stuff as well, but the old stuff is just classic, absolutely epic sh!t.

  • @soceraris

    Very true words of yours.

  • gotta find a way to cure this lonliness

gotta find a way to cure the pain

if i said that your my friends and our love would never end

how long before i had your trust again ...............

    best bit 0:00-8:43 !!

  • must be 9 bitches peeled off....

  • Sweetness is a virtue and you lost your virtue long ago

you know id like to hurt you, but my conscious always tells me no

you can sell your body on the street to anyone that you might meet

who'd love to try and get inside and bust your innocence open wide

  • @UrT1meSlipsAway That part is so fucking awesome!

  • You know... when I'm listening to a song and I want to cry because of the chemistry and perfection between lyrics and guitar riffs/solos I fuckin' know that the song is beyond AMAZING. This is what 'Locomotive' makes me feel every fuckin' time I listen to it.

Thank you Slash. Thank you Axl. Thank you old and ORIGINAL Guns N' Roses.

  • @Pop2Lock man thats me with every song...

  • Goddamn Slash, you're a fuckin' GOD.

  • Comment removed

  • This song peeled my face off.

  • no puede irse tan al carajo slash, se sarpa este moreno.

  • Nobody produces albums as epic as this anymore. Nobody plays guitar solos like the one in this song anymore, not even Slash.

  • If Love is Blind I Guess Ill Buy My Self a Joint...

  • 293293 views :O

  • If this song was a woman,

it would probably be in the kitchen

Thank god its not a woman

  • Does anyone else agree that this song would take alot of effort to play through to the end? (Even if you were a pretty talented musician)

  • Mental Asylum conversation as follows:

Axl: "Gotta find a way to cure this lonelyness

    Adler: "You'rrrrrrrrre sooooo straaaaaaange""

  • Best drum intro right afrer Rocket Queen!!!!!!!!!! Matt was awesome but Adler is a legend and my idol!

  • lo mejor fue guns and roses y lo sera por siempre !

  • lol its izzy as well as slash guys. slash doesnt play both guitars and its awsome when they do thing where slash only plays out one speaker and izzy plays out the other, i remember it was so awsome on my walkman back in the day listening with each guitarist only coming out one headphone. its the whole damn band together and with out the pieces all there they suck. the band 1st started to go to crap when izzy left and they went on with gilby clark.

  • @MadDawgBenRichards Actually its only slash on this track

  • 6:30 n' forward.. it's so good that I think it could be a different song, chills me every time

  • @ciranno it reminds me of HOW the Beatles would have two or three songs in one...very talented and diverse songs rolled into one. TOTALLY SPECTACULAR!

  • @ttw49923 Have to agree... its so perfectly placed though.... seamless!!! <3 GNR

  • @ciranno 6.25 :P lol sorry i remember the exact time it comes in from high shool haha

  • Oh my god I was just at their show down here on Buenos Aires, Argentina... DJ Ashba tried to impersonate Slash, no shit. Still, these are the Real GNR, forever ♥

  • Axl has definitely worked too hard for his illusions just to throw them away.

  • I wish they would play this live. I'm going 11/13!

  • Only Slash could play these riffs. Only Slash.

I know that there are other guitarists that are just as good, but there's just something about Slash's particular style that just feels PERFECT for this song that no other guitarist could replicate.

  • @Drumroll418 That something you mean is that HE WROTE THOSE RIFFS and they're FUCKING AWESOME!!

  • Maybe the best GNR song. Close anyway. Shame how some of the best songs get ignored.

  • questo è ROCK !!!!!!!!!

  • questo è ROCK !!!!!!!!!

  • you just gotta love the guitar riffs from slash and izzy as they play off each other in most G&R songs!! they both are guitar gods!!

  • But oh, the taste is never so sweet as what you'd believe it is!!!

"I've worked too hard for my illusions

just to throw them all away..."

  • 7 ppl dont know wat real music is

    n should suck my balls

  • Mr Bluntsworth I have never agreed with anything on the internet more.

  • So cool:D Guns N' Roses are my preferite band for ever:D

  • Matt did a good job on this, however, i'd still rather have steven

  • A GNR song that is mostly unknown but blows away 99.9% of the new rock songs out now.

  • @pcmcguire18504 whats the .1% that this song doesn't blow away?

o, you mean new albums by classic rock bands.

    of course....

  • The reason that the new generation of rock is so different is because were using the wrong examples bands like guns n roses had sumptin that no other band can imitate witch is why the new gen doesnt seem as good because they had to follow up from Guns n roses Pearl Jam Nirvana and the rest , we just not used to new band that arent legendary

  • Great song, man!

Me remonta al menos 10 años en el tiempo. Tremenda pieza!

  • 7:44 FUCKING EPIC!!

  • great bass-drum intro!!

  • AXL= BEST SONGS EVER

    GNR= NOTHING WITH NO AXL

  • @lovegungoodfun axl was a great guy, but axl without gnr, is nothing too, when they came to chile was a bad show, was a tribute to his own band

  • @onimusha514 donno man all in how you look at it I go to see Axl and I thought the last two shows I saw were the best but if a person thinks it sucks befor they go well then thats the view they will have!!!

  • @lovegungoodfun Axl is nothing without the original line-up the same as there's no Guns N' Roses without Axl.

  • best fuckin relationship lyrics ever fucking written. FUCK YEAH

  • this song makes me know how to treat my ex next time i see her.. "gotta peel the bitch off my back"!!!

  • 2:21 I think this is the best part of any rock song.

  • Slash's guitar harmonies in this song make my ears jizz into my headphones.

    I miss great rock music.

  • cant believe it wasn't a single -.-

  • So is Axl just gonna "ride off into the sunset" now? Or is he gonna do more?

I kinda wish GNR would put aside their differences and reunite.

    A man can dream though…

  • this song has SO MANY lyrics.
