  • Excellent job young man. Very happy to see you do such a good job. I enjoyed the video. Which state are you in ?

  • how does this work into school and sports time?

  • i guess it wasnt hungry enough first time lol, stay lucky john

  • how do you get into falconry?

  • well I'm from quebec ( canada) but the permit is good for anywhere in North America so if you are from the East Coast well you can come and make it here just type in google '' Centre d'autorserie du Quebec '' theres english classes, it cost about 300$ and to buy a bird about 200$...

  • 14 years old is the youngest but you can not get your general until 18.

Nice vid. You taking squirrels or rabbits?

  • rabbits, check the other video!

  • Awesome video! It gave me a look at what you have to do with such a majestic creature. I'm planning on becoming a falconer. Does anyone know the age requirement to become a falconer?

  • How long was your redtail on the Creance?

  • I had her jumping 3 feet by the second day. and she was on creance by the 5th day, and the 16th day i flew her free.

  • Wow! Your a freaking stud man! Im a little on the jelous side! SOMEDAY!!!!!

  • i love falconry i am acaually looking for a master, but i live in NJ do u Know anyone?

  • What a fantastic video! Man you're living my dream - I'm so jealous! Thanks for sharing. Had a smile on my face while watching this. So refreshing...

  • great video! I love it because it shows the hardship of working with a bird, like it all isnt fun and games. XD you finally got her going well for you near the end. She looks like shes having fun with you too!

  • Matt, nice effort on the bird. I see joy in you when you do it. very inspiring. I just passed the exam and trap myne in Sept over here near Spokane.

I just finished my mews which is much smaller but is attached to my 24x12 shed. I have a master falconer who has been in the biz for over 40 years so I am very fortunate in having his wisdom on board.

  • I'm 17, and I am going to go buy books to learn about falconry. I was just wondering how much would be a price range you think this would be, like for building a mew, and making your own furniture.

  • I spent about 2k on equipment:dog/telemetry/perches... etc. The mews was about 3-4k because it needed to have a cedar shingle roof and be built to look like a normal building. Also bought a truck...

  • Awesome thanks for all the info!!

  • check out my other redtail video... sort of the part two to this... actually this was all filmed with a crappy flip video mpeg type of thing

  • i see you are in seattle, lucky you! i'm on long island, ny and i hate it here. not a hill in sight, ugh. flat as a pancake, congested too. i'm coming over.

  • come on over we'll grab a beer ;)

  • wat did the exam cover??? by that i mean wat kind of questions were asked...are they ALL multiple choice¿?¿ the reason im asking u this is because im about to submit the permit documents....so i want to kind of know if i got everything kind of covered

  • yep all multiple choice... message me and Ill send you a link to an online federal test which gives you a score.

  • hey i was wodering if you could send me the link to the online federal test?

  • How big is your mew and did you make your own jesses and stuff or buy it

  • 10' x 12' and I made my own jesses... they are easy and way cheaper to make yourself. I bought my perches and scale.

  • im 13 can i still be in it??????

cuz i wanna do this reeaeaallllyy badly!

  • sure just wait a year ;)

  • how old do you have to be???

  • 14 years old lol, but 18 is better

  • I knew way more than what the exam covered. But it does take some time and a little practice to cover everything.

  • hey was it hard to pass the exam?

  • Personally, I found the exam fairly easy.

The hard part was actually manning and taking care of the bird.

  • I want to do this someday.
