  • This is great! I'm so happy to see this pro-choice presence happening in Ottawa! Go, PCCO! Yay for feminists making change for all women!

  • This is great! I'm so happy to see this pro-choice presence happening in Ottawa! Go, PCCO! Yay for feminists making change for all women!

  • You know deep down that a fetus is a human person at conception and should be respected as such.

  • Wrong. Not much of a mind-reader, are you?

  • Hi Jennfarsuperstar, I've watched several of your videos on here and think that you should check out my latest video about abortion. Did you know there is someone named Jesus who loves you? I admire that you think you are all pro woman or whatever, but the truth is that women are better off with more laws regulating their bodies! Its for the children!! And Jesus!!! Please know Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • "women are better off with more laws regulating their bodies"

You mean your body and my body, right?

I want zero laws regulating my reproductive rights. I don't want any person, religion or government agency telling me what to do with my own body. I want full and unbiased info re: STIs and contraception. I choose when to have sex, how often and with whom. I choose marriage or not. I choose when and if I have children. I want access to daycare if I choose to work outside the home.

  • oh... women's rights are human rights? whatever, i know the truth is that jesus was totally into denying women rights.. so i'm sorry, but you are wrong. fetal rights outweigh mine... heck, even embryo rights should outweigh mine. jesus said so.. its in the bible somewhere. duh!

  • womens rights are not human rights. Any right that takes away a human life is not a right at all, it's the deprivation of a right and this lady supports that deprivation of a right and calls it a "choice". That "choice" Jennifer is whether or not a woman will choose to let someone murder her child. Any sane person with any knowledge in biology knows that a fetus is a Latin synonym for child and a child is human, there's no way around that fact. NO ONE should have a right to murder someone.

  • self correction:

reproductive rights are not human rights.

Women do have a right to be payed equally with men, that would fall in the category of a human right. Women have a right to be respected as much as men. Women have a right to be loved by their husbands. Women have a right to be responsible for their children. All of these womens' rights are equal human rights.

But when woman can decide who in society lives and who dies, that is not a right. That's abuse and the deprivation of rights.

  • I am sane. I have basic knowledge of biology (having chosen to gestate and carry a pregnancy to term).

I just have a different perspective than you do.

Abortion is NOT murder. Women's rights ARE human rights. I have control oven my own body. I have a right to work outside the home. I should have easy access to contraception. I can have sex for pleasure.

  • Women do have a right to be equal. The same thing goes for us men we are not allowed to dominate women. We were created equal to be equal.

If you choose to have sex and use the morning after pill to murder your child or bring someone to a Morgentaler Clinic to murder their child, that's on your soul, not mine.

The moral law is crystal clear. Paragraphs 2258 to 2283 of the Catechism clearly forbids every single type of murder. It is unchangeable and applies to everyone, not just Christians.

  • "Paragraphs 2258 to 2283 of the Catechism clearly forbids every single type of murder. It is unchangeable and applies to everyone, not just Christians."

.... no, it doesn't. Those are religious beliefs. They are your beliefs and you have every right to have them. Your beliefs are not shared by everyone on the planet. I, for one, do no believe the same things you do. I believe a woman should be able to decide when and if she bears children.

  • and to kill them right? You wouldn't dare say the whole truth because it would make you look bad. By the way, the catechism It's not just beliefs, it's canon law.

  • go read those paragraphs and tell me in which areas you think doesn't apply to you.

  • joeb0 - I grew up Roman Catholic. I think that the modern church & some of it's teachings are wrong. Condoms are not a sin. Homosexual sex is good. Sex does not require marriage. Marriage can happen without church sanction. Same sex marriage is good. Humanity/personhood does not begin at conception. I don't think my *life* is something that turns on and off like a light switch. We come into life and consciousness gradually. Death is also a gradual process that we don't fully understand yet.

  • Growing up "catholic" doesn't mean anything, did you even read the Catechism or celebrate mass every week?

You actually claim that humanity does not begin at conception? last time I checked everyone alive today is alive because their life started at their conception. You ignore prenatal developmental science and trade it for philosophy. Get philosophy out of this. Conception is biological fact how can you possibly ignore that fact while looking at your child in the eyes? Are you blind?

  • Yeah, I went to mass every week and Catholic school 5 days a week until my OACs. Ever heard of Catholics for Choice?

Last time I checked I had no visual impairment of any kind. Multiplying cells does not necessarily equal a full blown organism. I don't think my child became my child until at least way into the 2nd trimester.

  • What makes you think condoms and homosexuality is good? What makes you think that some of the churches teachings are bad?

  • joeb0 - I see the fetus/embryo as a *potential person*. Much like a walnut isn't a tree. Plucking a walnut from a tree is not the same as taking an axe and felling the whole tree.

Not every seed that gets planted will grow. Very few zygotes actually even implant inside the womb. Women can conceive and spontaneously abort without realizing it. Every time I menstruate there's a chance my body is flushing out a fertilized egg. Should I take bereavement leave every time I have my period?

  • There's no getting around the fact that a human life starts at conception and abortion is a planned killing of this "potential person" as you call these children. Planned killing of a humans is also called murder. Go look up an ultrasound, if you think that the latin synonym for child is not human and that they should be killed even after seeing a baby in the womb sucking his/her thumb at 8 weeks, then you're crazy.

  • I've had a few ultrasounds when I was pregnant. I enjoyed looking at the images because I wanted to be pregnant and was happy to be pregnant.

Not all women are happy to be pregnant. Not all women want to give birth.

Not all women want (or are able) to parent.

I say respect and support women who choose to be parents. Respect and support also, those women who choose not to give birth and/or parent.

  • The following trust-worthy organizations state very clearly that there is NO LINK between either induced or spontaneous abortions and breast cancer:

    The National? Cancer Institute

The Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center

    The American Cancer Society

    The World Health Organization

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist

  • cite the sources. just the names isn't good enough.

  • This is the YouTube comments section - not a master's thesis. If easily Googled endorsements from the WHO and The American Cancer Society aren't good enough for you then I can't help you.

  • Lets see the facts.

Mr. Kindley explains how the increased risk of breast cancer resulting from an induced abortion impacts a womans lifetime risk:

The real significance of a relative risk increase depends upon the background risk which is increased. For example, although smoking increases the risk of lung cancer by a factor of 10.0, the background risk of lung cancer for nonsmokers is very low. By contrast, an average American womans lifetime risk of breast cancer is about twelve percent.

  • A 1.3 relative risk increase from an induced abortion would therefore indicate about a four percent increase in absolute terms. Estimating a twenty-five percent mortality rate, this figure would suggest that about 1 out of 100 women who have had an induced abortion die from breast cancer attributable to the abortion. johnkindley(dot)com

"...The Scientific Evidence Linking Induced Abortion with Increased Breast Cancer Risk, Wisconsin Law Review, (1999); Vol. 1998, No. 6; p. 1620

  • That's the bad news. The good news is, no one needs to die from Cancer. The cure was found in 1928 by Max Gerson. He developped a detox vegan diet that flushes out impurities in the body, it pumps up the immune system and destroying many diseases including cancer. I know a guy personally, he was terminally ill (he was given 6 months to live) and within three months on the diet, he has no cancer at all. As being pro life, I need to share the information, get his daughter's book the Gerson Therapy

  • self correction flushes out impurities out of the body.

  • Also, the WHO published are research paper in 2007 called "IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans."

In that i says that a combination of oral contraceptives can SLIGHTLY increase the risk though very small of developing breast cancer.

I would not risk the possibility of getting cancer even though it's curable with the Gerson therapy. I would rather let the child live even if that means needing a C-section because every child in the womb is in fact a new person.

  • @Joeb0 The studies you cite were small, methodologically unsound & older (from the 80s to mid 90s). They have since been thoroughly debunked.

Neither induced nor spontaneous abortions have any impact on the odds of getting breast cancer. Period.

    Stop the lies and fear-mongering!

** To anyone else reading this: If you Google "abortion" and "breast cancer", many search results are 'pro-life' websites. Beware!!! Make sure you get unbiased health information! Women deserve the truth. **

  • Where's your proof that they've been dis-proven, or is that just an opinion? Cite your sources.

    Also,

Doctors should give us the real cure for cancer here in Canada, not just in Tijuana, Mexico. Instead of destroying our immune system with chemo, we should be powering it up with good food. Wouldn't you agree?

    watch?v=tY-HsoJ0gr0

  • Most of you don't even know how an abortion is performed do you? if you would, you would think twice before supporting those "doctors".

If anyone reading this is pregnant, please go to your local Christian pregnancy help center like Elijah house and have a 3d and a 4d ultrasound before considering abortion. You'll see how alive your baby is. at around 11 to 13 weeks, he or she does somersaults. prenatal development is a beautiful gift. If you don't have a Christian pregnancy help center, please

  • watch the video "the biology of prenatal development" by National Geographic Video before making a decision.

  • I happen to know how my body works AND how a zygote/embryo/fetus develops. I don't need a religious organization to school me on my biological functions.

I also don't want you to tell me what to do with my womb. My daughter doesn't need your *advice* either.

  • Yo... are you like... a dude?

Because if you are STFU. You don't know WTF you're talking about and never will, and to say different is complete and total bullshit and you know it.

Keep your rosaries off my god damn ovaries, people who expect everyone to conform to their own ideals really piss me off.

Look, this isn't a pro death movement, and never will be. we want the CHOICE to have a child, and that choice is the woman's choice. So why don't you get with the times before the times get you.

  • oh I see that you are a radical feminist who's sexist to anyone with a dick right? Right.

Your presence at the march for life was not a peaceful one at all. Kids were crying because you were yelling at us because we were praying for babies and elderly, and yes even for you. You're pro abortion and pro artificial contraception and then you wonder why women have breast and cervical cancer. Anyone with a brain should know that those actions screw with hormones.

  • I may be a guy and I KNOW I will never know what it feels like to carry an other human being, but every woman I know cherished every minute of their pregnancy knowing that their child is getting ready to come into the world even if it's through a C-section. Life is beautiful and there shouldn't be a reason for abortion except that of an ectopic pregnancy which is the only pregnancy that is a matter of life and death for a woman's health. reasons like Diabetes, there's the Gerson therapy.

  • Also, if an epileptic woman is pregnant, she should be scheduled to have a c-section at around 8 and a half months in order to save her life and her baby's life.

  • A woman who is pregnant and happens to have epilepsy is probably the best person to make decisions about her own pregnancy. Unbiased information is what women need in order to make informed decisions about their health.

  • Women can feel all different kinds of ways about pregnancy, children, birth, child care, menopause ... we're all individuals. A mother can sometimes feel ambivalent towards her children. Some women embrace menopause and others don't. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to be a woman, or human. Let people make their own decisions. Only I can decide what's best for me.

  • Actually, birth control pills REDUCE the chance of cervical cancer. I am making informed decisions about my body. :-)

  • So you already know about the increased risk of breast cancer associated with abortion?

  • That's totally false joeb0.

    Here's some unbiased medical info:

"The newer studies consistently showed no association between induced and spontaneous abortions and breast cancer risk." - National Cancer Institute

"Again, these experts do not find that abortions (either induced or spontaneous) cause a higher breast cancer risk." - American Cancer Society
