  • thanks to people like you, Tuna is in danger of extinction. Soon new born will ask how this animals were, and if you have children... what you will say? oh son they were so big and delicious i helped with their extinction too!!!

  • I've never caught a tuna. With the rate people are overfishing today, I and many others may never get a chance to catch their first tuna. Save the species for future generations.

  • Thats fucked up if its not for human consumption leave them alone.

    Fishing tight lines ever.....

    Tuna rising....

  • I just hope there around for my children's children to enjoy. I don't have anything against a man going out and catching a few. I think it's the Asian market that is RAPING our oceans of all there resources. They kill everything millions of sharks tuna whatever they get there hands on. It's terrible. I just think there should be some kind of regulation. I'm a die hard fisherman I just want them around to catch!!

  • thanks for posting, unfortunatley, these pics will be nothing but memories, bft will be a thing of the past in a handful of years time, enjoy it while it last guys, and please try to make it last as long as possible. :)

  • now that's hell of a lot sushi

  • im from nova scotia :D

  • I grew up tuna fishing in Gloucester, Ma in the 70's. There were a lot of big fish then, 500 to over 1,000 lbs. It stayed like that til the mid 80's, then over fishing of ground fish as well as tuna world wide depleted the schools that came there in the summer. It was a great deal of fun while it lasted though. I caught my first at 10 yrs old. weighed 735 lbs, still have the mounted tail!! I really miss it, it was a great way to grow up! Carl.

  • @crlrcksn That's to bad I've heard that same thing from others in Gloucester. I'm a Mainer and I do what I can to prtect the fish. I honestly think it's to late for the big tuna and its sad.....It makes me so sad to see these giants of the deep die off. And I'm sorry i'm not racist but it's the Asian culture. They don't care they rape our oceans!

  • too bad people like studdage don't understand that its everyone who contribute to the tuna situation....who depleted the codfish??? in the med who increased the catch quota for the blues???

everyone needs to do their share to the problem....no need for racism to add to the problem.......it's ignorance that's contributes to the situation....

blue black or white tuna???? get active write to your congress man be constructive....get off your ass and do something about it....

    aloha,,,popoahi

  • Do Japanese people bust a nut when they see this?

  • I heard about japan catch tuna 1540lbs broken in the WORLD!!!!

  • @1980power1 yea but by the time it was on the boat they would've ate a good 100lb, then another 100lb bitten out of it before they can weight it 5 minutes later D:

  • Well done for tagging & releasing. These fish and quite a few other species are becoming endangered due to mass overfishing! It should be all about the sport (if that's your game). I hate watching these super fishing boats with 3 mile nets scooping up 1000's of tons in just one catch... Not exactly fair game is it! I blame the Chinese & Japanese for the majority, although they're not the only nations which fish in such extreme ways. I just hope for my children's sake measures are taken to reduc

  • holy crap, how many cans of tuna could come out of that thing. Awesome fish

  • Wait A Minute... 1.496 lbs? That's less than my kitten weighs!

  • So much sushimi!

  • allmost as long big and thick as my dck

  • @TMfishing1 back then there use to be a ton of them but the greedy japs and china have been over fishing them and poaching them numbers are roughly down around only 40k now and our fed gov failed to put a ban on long lining blue fin!!! So we are part to blame to!!!!!!!

  • @TMfishing1 i wish there were more people like you then the dumb people that think keeping such a beautiful giant is worth any type of maerit... hope the world can get smarter so other people can enjoy the world of fishing for years to come plus there are only so many fish and animals in the world once you run out theres no going back.....

  • that's almost as big as my mother-in-law! damn!

  • there is more blue fin tuna now then ever its crazy. if you come to nova scotia and see the amount of fish here you would not believe all this business about there numbers going down.

  • And today they are endangered......humans keep on with the massacer there is no stopping.

  • no more big ones left now...... very sad

  • @lillianed wouldnt say that...went bluefin fishing this past week-end.... a lot of fish but we had at least four over 700lbs hooked and brought to the boat, tagged and gone

  • would feed the whole africa.

  • they dont get that big let them go

  • awesome!

  • men they are good fish
