I hate that in this game they give you no time to do the fatalities. Good tutorial by the way.

yes sometimes i was holding block and sometimes not. It depends on the fataliy. In the fatalities where i wasn't holding block, I tried to press the up button really fast, for example: i press HK button, and after that I try pressing the up button, sometimes it works sometimes no. My tip for you would be: practice, and don't give up trying.

Haven't played this game recently so I can't tell which buttons are responsible for LK, HK; just try pressing the buttons, you'll see where is LK and HK. BL stands for block, duh ;)

for those that are confused to the terminology used in mortal kombat: HP = High Punch LP = Low Punch HK = High Kick LK = Low Kick BL = Block B = Away from your opponent F = Towards your opponent D = crouch U = Jump D+HP = Uppercut B+LK = Sweep B+HK = Roundhouse Kick Genesis 3 Button Controls A = LP F+LP (Performs a High Punch) B = LK C = HK Start = BL Genesis 6 Button Controls X = HP Y = BL Z = HK A = LP B = BL C = LK Start = BL SNES Controls A = LK B = LP X = HK Y = HP L/R = BL

for the snes, on the character select screen, do the following:

press d,u,r,u,l,select (super strength against cpu opponents)

press u,u,l,u,d,select (extra fatality time)

press d,u,r,u,u,r,l,select (go straight to shao khan in single player mode)

when starting the rom, hold dow the buttons that correspond to the left and right shoulder buttons of the snes pad to get an alternate akklaim screen

you forgot to mention that, to do friendships or babalities, you must not use the punch buttons in the winning round. also, after doing the first part of sub zeros deep freeze/shatter fatality, on the dead pool, after going f,f,d,hk, perform the acid bath stage fatality (hold lp+lk, d+hp (lk+hk if using the genesis version with a 3 button configuration) this is same for all the characters) you will uppercut your still frozen blue opponent into the acid

Y'know,if you gotta enter a code just to see fatalities,you might as well play any other fighting game.I wish they made the codes a bit easier to remember.I dunno what the hell all the controversy was about.Like a kid could even figure out how to PERFORM a fatality........

@Catdramaticstatic You know, you may have a point there. But when I was a kid I remember that there were some books with the fatalities codes and other stuff on sale. So I think maybe one of the reasons was to buy the book. (which I didn't, lol)

@Catdramaticstatic on the genesis version, you can perform 1 button fatalities. just go to the options screen, highlight 'done', then press l,d,l,r,d,r,l,l,r,r for the test options. from here you can turn certain cheats on and off, including 1 button fatalites. if playing the 32x version, press l,d,r,r,d,l,l,l,l,r,r,r instead. these cheat menus do not work on the snes version btw, i've been playing this game for over 15 years, so i got all the main fatalities memorised years ago

@wirelessguy1 HK stands for High Kick. Charging means holding down the button that you have to charge (for example charge HK 3 seconds means hold down the button for 3 seconds.)
