I found someone who made a review for Gods Eater Burst and its title was "It's no Monster Hunter but it'll do" to which I sat there and played the game and agreed. Until I really got into it. 10 hours later I'm just trying to collect weapons for no reason. Monster Hunter always promised customizable weapons. Gods Eater Burst actually had customized weapons. Theres thousands of combinations to get a different looking weapon. It's amazing.

P.S. I like the Burst Mix better.

its definitely built off monster hunter but it does bring a whole new style of game play with the tri-type god arcs and i have to say, i enjoy playing each equally, they both have elements which make them unique

Monster Hunter is not 'more challenging' in a legitimate sense. Using terrible hit boxes to be difficult does not a difficult game make. That said, I do enjoy me some Monster Hunter.

@TheForbiddenKip haha well i have to admit initially MH had TERRIBLE hitbox problems!! but they have significantly improved!! and the hit boxes make the game all the more challenging and more diverse compared to god eater!! although god eater's hitboxes are more simpler!! MH has still provided me with the more challenging gaming experience!! hardly ever get knocked out on god eater! but as for mh well..mistakes happen!! awesome games nevertheless

@stanleyopar91 I second that! Even though it was a clone, MH was just like, meh. You go from one place to another to hunt monsters/gather ingredients, then what? There's no story, no plot, just pointless monster hacking until you're filthy rich. At least in Gods Eater Burst, there is a plot, and you have a purpose; hunt down Aragami to prevent the extinction of humankind. As cheesy as it sounds, plot makes a game interesting. (Bonus points cause in GEB, MC is badass! Unlike in the original GE)

And I can't think of any game that has every thought of being retarded enough to try to rip off Castlevania. And I say GE is a MH ripoff because they basically have all the same elements. Both are monster hunting games, they both have item crafting, weapon crafting and in a sense, armor crafting. Character creation and ad-hoc coop. :P

@stanleyopar91 You can't really compare the two, while they have similar gameplay, they are in fact different genres. God Eater fits the Sci fi genre and Monster Hunter is definitely fantasy. They both have negatives and positives, and they are both good games. if you judge by fanbase, Monster hunter is the better game though. But comparing the two is like comparing civilization to Star Craft.

@asdf123625 The developers of this game said it themselves, that God Eater was heavily inspired by Monster Hunter. It may not look that way on the surface, but watching gameplay videos, you can see some resemblance in how it all works.

But hey, who says a game is bad just because it borrows from a popular title? It seems different enough to not be a knock off, and it looks like this game will actually be pretty good.
