Average GPA at my school for a white pre med student that is excepted into med school. 3.8+. Average black GPA 2.9 As a med student I do believe that this man has a doctorate. It still makes me want to cry though.
The blood you take out at altitude does NOT have more oxygen in it. After training at altitude your body responds to the thinner air by creating more red blood cells to facilitate oxygen transport. Thus, when you return to sea level, your blood has more RED BLOOD cells than you normally need to carry oxygen which equals better endurance performance. The bag of blood you filled whilst training at altitude has more RED BLOOD cells in it, NOT oxygen like this tard claims.
@SlinkyBoi280 One type of blood doping is EPO which stands for erythropoeitin, a hormone naturally produced in the kidneys in response to hypoxia (low O2) and brings about an increase in red blood cel production, so if you inject yourself with that stuff, your body will be able to supply your muscles with oxygen better. Note naturally produced, thats why it went un noticed for at least a while. I learnt this in dentistry today :)
@therogermarsh Your right EPO raises your Hematocrit thus more red blood cells which carry oxygen amongst other things. Another reason it was hard to detect is it is injected I.V and exits the system very quickly though levels do stay high with continued use. Another common form of blood doping requires a doctor to draw blood, concentrate the RBC's and re inject that concentrate into the athlete later, not just simply drawing blood , storing and injecting it later as this doc says..
@Christphur lmao you can't do this at home....it involve transfusing blood. Taking it out and putting it back into the body. Unless your being monitor by a professional this is not a very good idea. However you could train at higher altitude or sleep in an altitude chamber which does the same thing.
@JenniferSmilesNow He is pointing out that certain people perform well under pressure. He took what most would view as a weakness (Obviously to include you) and used it as motivation to fight harder.
this guy is talking a lot of garbage...what in the world is he on? A person who is cancer-free can't essentially become as healthy and fit as a former cancer patient? that's complete and utter bullshit.
Associated Press is obviously interviewing a spokesperson for Lance Armstrong.
@ShadeRage2007 There is lower oxygen in higher altitudes so you need more red blood cells to compensate for the difference when you are at higher altitudes.
@lethalweapon9 So basically what he was trying to say isn't so much that there is more oxygen at higher altitudes but your blood basically super charges itself with red blood cells due to the lack there of?

How do you obtain higher concentrations of O2 at higher altitudes? That's backwards.

Nice!!! That had absoutly nothing to do with blood doping!!!

Just before the video started there was an ad for deodorant with some guy racing around on a mountain bike. Kind of coincidental.
