  • I am so glad you yank that stuff out. Showing it to people helps us remember how we have gotten to where we are. Letting it rot or just get destroyed by a plow is a tragedy. Really great videos man.

  • Is that a Fisher Metal detecting Vest your wearing there Bill ? where did you get it at ?

  • @nuggetnoggin Just a fishing vest that I had a Fisher patch sewed onto.....

  • @SHNewEngland Ha, lol well i need a fisher patch, you know i;m a fisher guy.

  • Can anyone help me identify a shell casing I found under the slave quarters at the UofA mansion email me a timskelton@yahoo.com

  • First of all, most MDers aren't old men, I'm certainly not and MOST of the metal detectorists I know are lovers of history and the main people who still believe and hold onto those "sacred" principles that you speak of; people who have a desire to SAVE this history because it is our American Legacy. They are expert diggers and have probably excavated 10 times the historical artifacts than you have. Again, these artifacts were lost and fired by OUR Great Grandfathers. You do not hold TITLE!

  • @white89euro

You know, I cannot stand Archies like you. First of all, the LARGE majority of NEW sites that Archaeologists and those of us that work with Archies have to work with are thanks to metal detectorists. Second of all, who ordained Archies as the sole excavators and saviors of our history? If we left it up to you guys 90% of the relics in the ground would be dust by time y'all got to them. Grow up and loose the entitled attitude!

  • That pipe that the guy pulled out of his knife was not civil war period. They found serval of those inside adena/hopewell mounds here in eastern Ky. What an incredible find

  • Billy, are you going to the next one? I just signed up. How'd your T2 work there? Iheard the clay can cause some problems with ground balancing.

  • Great find Bill ! Confederate stoneware thumb print ink ...To have gotten that out of the ground without breaking it, shows me you know how to dig !...Did you "G.P.S." MARK those huts that you noticed were all in a row for future reference ?..........Good luck this season.................Bill.

  • Great Video! 5 Stars.

I really enjoyed watching it. If u r interested check out my Video on -War relics- on my channel. I'm also a happy hunter! :-)

    Best wishes from Germany

    Garry

  • Nice ink! I have never seen a stone ink until now!

  • Can any one go and dig?

  • Hope to see you at DIV in october. I told that guy lower on this page he needed to do. GLD!!!

  • I have a battlefield in town where I live and after 16 years of living here I have only seen or heard of one archaeological sig being done there. You guys are not digging at these battlefields.Yes I will admit some people dig and sell, but a lot do not.I was an archaeological major at my school for awhile and I understand where you are coming from, but get out and dig these srtifacts that are dissapearing because of construction and natural degredation instead of bitching about us "amateur" diggers

  • Good Work :) Who is going to save it if you Guys don't.Don't Pay attention To the Archies ,They tried to have me arrested on my own land once.Happy Hunting.

  • ;;Cool

  • Stealing History :(

  • Intelligent comment. You must be one of those Archy's that believes we should leave it all in the ground to rot away?

  • I am pretty sure if they didn't have permission to be there someone would have run them off with a shotgun, Gramps. Kind of hard to miss fifty guys wandering around with metal detectors all at the same time.

  • @mtauction How is it stealing History? It's recovering it from the earth where it would evenetually rot away to nothing or be destroyed by bulldozers someday.

  • congrats!!Nice hunt!!

  • Nice video....Love the connection back to history with the old photos

  • Excellent! Love the "then and Now" pictures.

  • That was one very nice video and very enjoyable keep up the good work.

  • Good job Bill...thanks for the cameo!

  • Great Vid, Bill... Looks like those TDI's were tearing it up out there...

  • Great Video Bill !
