Economic growth is actually over. Economic growth ended around five or six years ago. And coal is not clean. If you think coal is clean, you are a fucking idiot. I am glad I got out of West Virginia. That place is full of dumbass redneck hillbilly pieces of shit. Please look up Richard Heinberg and James Howard Kunstler.
@armyboy1207 Yes, I realize that. The fact that people would have to pay more to operate their car is the point: if I didn't have to pay more, a carbon tax would be pointless. I work for one of the world's largest oil and gas companies; I'm quite aware of the implications of a carbon tax.
However, I would be in a favorable position since I drive a subcompact. Conversely, SUV and truck drivers would begin paying their societal cost, and perhaps purchase less wasteful vehicles in the future.
i have to watch these comercials two three times an hour you might be able to tell a republican enough to make it true. hope it doesnt work on everybody
Holy crap, that's me looking all creepy next to the guy in the black vest at 0:10 into the commercial watching the guy get up. I didn't know it would be on Youtube.
I hate these commercials. "Clean coal" means lower Sox, Nox, PM, and metals. Big deal: CO2 is the real issue, and sequestration is pipe dream. We need a flat but aggressive and revenue-neutral carbon tax IMMEDIATELY. If coal can compete, let them, but we need to provide a predictable price environment to the clean energy sources to let them compete.
@SuperDdy Are you going to tell your doctor how to do her job too? I put a lot more credibility into a consortium of experts than you, who I assume isn't. The fundamental science (that CO2 is a GHG) and the fact that the planet is warming is not in question: those are absolutes. Sure the climate models are incredibly complex and rely on a lot of assumptions. But, that doesn't negate the core science or the blatant evidence. If not carbon, then what is your theory?

I certainly don't equate so called climate scientists with real scientists
much less an MD. Co2 is a greenhouse gas responsible for 2 to 4% of
warming a "minor greenhouse gas". What is my theory go outside
and look up at the sun and clouds which are responsible for 95%
of all warming and cooling. I love how you guys all appeal to science
when there has been no greater corruption of science than this
climate fraud.

@pbryn1983 LOL what a fail you are,we carbon tax like we need a hole in the
head. Co2 will go down as the greatest non issue fraud of all time.

@pbryn1983 If we got a tax on CO2, you'd be taxed too, and I'm sure you drive a car...

Good ad, and so true, as long as the socialist Obama keeps the EPA's reach out of it. 2012 can't get here soon enough.
