  • You people make me want to scream. How on EARTH is this in ANY way better than Winnie the pooh??? Winnie the pooh is cute, childish and has a bright ride with a storyline. I don't mind something being a bit eerie, but cmon!! You spin around hitting "walls" for two minutes, get hit by a train and then GO TO HELL???!!!??? What kind of a kid ride is that?? >.<

  • @samanthasinging17 A fun one in which a lot of people enjoy. Me and my sister loved going on that ride.

  • @samanthasinging17 an amazing one

  • @samanthasinging17 It appeals to EVERYBODY. Winnie the Pooh is an okay ride and all, but not every age is gonna wanna ride it.

  • @samanthasinging17 LOL I agree. I rode this ride as a kid and freakin' HATED IT!!! Scared me like crazy!

  • God how i miss old disney world and old disney rides, the new ones, and “refurbished” ones are just not magical to me. i am so mad, and heartbroken they got rid of the old rides and shows, why couldn't they just build new stuff elsewhere, like in another state!

  • Mr. Toad at Disneyland Anaheim was heavily refurbished in the late 80s. This version is sort of in between Old and New California Mr. Toad. Never got to go on this one, but love the two tracks. Winnie the Pooh is for babies and is pathetically boring at both parks. But in Anaheim at least they didn't tear something great down to build it. This ride was awesome. Just so people understand Mr. Toad was a rebelious rascal who pays no heed, so he ends up paying the ultimate price, in Hades no less.

  • that ride was a mind fuck to me!

  • I just got back from disneyland in LA they didn't take it out there thank god its demented but thaz one of the reasons I love it

  • i love disney but hell i mean u get hit by a train and go to hell?? WTF that dosent seem like kid friendly disney i know i wouldnt let my kid go on it if it was still open and my kids go to disney all day by themselfs..but no haters i worship disney but this seems unruleing!

  • i m trying to start a fundraiser to bring this ride back except it may not be in Disney World. :)

  • I think that's adventures of winie the pooh.

  • i miss this ride =(

  • I just love how you can hear the train whistle throughout the whole ride. It's so cool and creppy!

  • Absolutley loved this ride, should have never replaced it with winni the pooh!

  • .... I don't remember ever going on this ride, i think they got rid of it before i could go on it or before i could remember it, but either way i can see why they got rid of it... it doesn't seem like a lot of fun (going ten mph with just a bunch a twist and turns and then you go to hell, yeah, super FUN) and i think parents finally understood maybe the idea of sending little kids to hell was kinda i dunno, weird?

  • @lizzylondon2696 If they found the idea of sending little kids to Hell wierd why would they put them on the new Winnie the Pooh ride?

  • i remember going on this when i was about 12, i cracked up my parents afterward because i called it "Mr. Toad's Semi-wild Ride", lol...

it's funny for a twelve year old xD

  • OH MY GOD I remember going on this ride when I was three or four and my dad made me and my sister sit in the front and I remember I started hysterically crying because I didn't know how to drive...

  • @EmXchan that's totally lol =D

  • They should bring back this ride (the magic kingdom has more than enough room for additional attractions). Also people WOULD be familiar with these characters if they would show the film its based off of (The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad) on tv more often. they used to all the time in the 80's and 90's. but that's entirely up to Disney...

  • the train light is what made this my favorite ride when i was little, it was scary but i knew it was a ride and nobody would really put the people in the ride in danger with a real train.

  • This was my favorite ride as a kid, thanks so much for posting!! I heard they got rid of this ride.

  • ok.........so in this ur supposed 2 be Mr.Toad right? (I have nooooo idea what Mr.Toad is from or what movie hes in)Then u get hit by a train a train and go 2 hell and thats it?! wow....Great 4 kids is M.Toad a bad person ???

  • I used to be sooooo scared of the train at 7. I didn't know it was all fake.

  • I made love to my ex on this ride.

  • Even though it was mostly cardboard being flund at you it was a classic. At least you can go on a similar version at Disneyland.

  • (Sees the ending) You know, FOR KIDS!

  • What a shame this ride is gone. DIsney and epcot had so many great rides. Thank you for posting!

  • Uhhh... I'm sorry, but for a moment I thought the ride ended in Hell there.

  • Is this ride still there?

  • A QUALITY RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ParkHopper Is this ride still in Walt Disney World?

  • I hope this ride makes Epic Mickey.

  • SERIOUSLY IM DISNEY OBSESSED AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT S PERFECT EXCEPT ONE THING AND THAT IS THAT THEY TOOK THIS RIDE OUT AND PUT WINNIE THE POOH.DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE WINNIE THE POOH BUT MR. TOADS WAS AWESOME !!!

  • i always wanted to go on track 1,but my family always forced me on the left hand track, because ihad disabilities and they got the handicap pass to cut the line(and it was only o nthe left hand) i only realized there was another side my 3rd trip to disney, and at that point they didnt wanna go on the ride again..so my 4th trp i was ready to go on the left but they replaced it with fucking winnie the pooh.

  • The unjustified death of this ride marked the starting point of disney's downfall. Its still the best, but if it continues to make decisions based on a few extra dollars, the fans will turn their backs. We need another disney war. Wheres Roy when you need him?

  • @taagsmasher whos roy

  • @rctriplefresh5 roy is disney's nephew, an employee of the company who was famous for going against the corporate tendencies of modern disney and championed for more of that trademarked disney magic. he was extremely involved, and loved making people happy, and whenever he felt the management got to bland or greedy, he would rally the stockholders in what is nicknamed "disney wars." Sadly he died last year, leaving behind a legacy that fits right up there with Walts.

  • @rctriplefresh5 he means roy disney im suprised you never heard of him

  • Who the hell put's something like that on a little kid's ride?

  • I'm glad to see this, since the only time this ride was at Disneyworld when i went, I was four. The time we went after that, when i was twelve, it had already been replaced. Cool how it went through the fireplace! 1:34 Yikes! Bull!

  • Long live mr toad!

  • why wud disney get rid of such a gr8 ride and replace it with winnie the pooh i mean cum on!!!

  • this is the only ride i can remember being on at disney as a kid. the train part was super scary... i really hate that it is gone now, but this video is the next best thing. must have been on vhs back then! thanks for the memories

  • why did the magic Kingdom take it out?Disneyland still has it but this looks waay better

  • This was my favorite ride as a kid. Even though as a parent I love Winnie the Pooh, the ride just isn't as cool as Mr. Toad!!!

  • This was my favorite ride as a kid. Even though as a parent I love Winnie the Pooh, the ride just isn't as cool as Mr. Toad!!!

  • This was my favorite ride as a kid. Even though as a parent I love Winnie the Pooh, the ride just isn't as cool as Mr. Toad!!!

  • This mr toads ride is way better then the one at Disneyland .Oh How I wish I could go to Disneyworld,Ive only been 1 time and I was 8 years old and hardly remember it.I go to Disneyland almost every month and some day I will get to go to the MagicKingdom in Florida

  • @mjmmorales

So, don't get too excited to go on this. Why, because it's gone.

  • i remember that ride! all i remember is you can see the other car pass by and the little devils at the end. now its the flight of peter pan ir something like that.

  • i loved this movie i remember being in Disney last year and watching it at the Caribbean resort we watched it like right next to the pool i cant wait to go in august :))))

  • Did you know that someone tried to sell one of the cars on eBay? I don't recall going on this ride but it sure looked like fun! :) Thanks for posting!

  • Mr. Toad? whats he from?

  • dreamchild81@Moonbabe1989 He's a character from a classic novel titled Wind in the Willows, which Walt Disney adapted into a cartoon in the 1949. It's a classic, I highly recommend finding a copy to watch. :)

  • @dreamchild81 You know I've heard of that book too! I just had no idea that Disney made a movie about it. I shouldn't be surprised though :D Thats Disney for you lol! I'll have to try to find a copy somewhere :)

  • There is only 1 theme park (Disneyland) that has this attraction... This was there when Magic kingdom opened and now it was replaced by Winnie the Pooh... being a teen, l probably won't go to Pooh, but I would have diffenently would go to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride....

  • i think someone should start a petition to get this ride back in disney world i mean, this was my dads favorite ride and he still talks about it to this day!

  • And while we're at it, can we also try to bring back Alien Encounter, or see if Western River Expedition can ever be built?

  • @kiya12321 a petition sadly won't do anything. back in 98' there was mass protests, postcard campaigns, and an organizer even hired a plane to fly over the magic kingdom. disney management just doesn't care about the fan base. hell, i'd love to see it back though.

  • i think someone should start a petition to get this ride back in disney world. i mean, this was my dads favorite ride and he still talks about it to this day! this was also MY favorite when i was a kid...and i hardly remember it...so sad :(

  • They got rid of the awesome alien ride because it made too many little kids cry. It makes no sense. Everything great in life makes children cry.

  • Yeah Pooh is not a bad ride, but I still prefer Mr. Toad. Either way Disney World is still the best park in the world regardless

  • The Leaning Tower of Pisa could fall on you for saying something like that!

  • fuck pooh bear this was a classic.......bastards *mutters*

  • what was this replaced by?

  • It was replaced by "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh".

  • @dixiedisneyfreak i thought so

  • wen did they take this ride away i forget

  • I miss this ride

  • I've been on this ride before, but I was only four years old and the only part I remember is when you pass through the jail cell gates. Sadly, the ride is gone from WDW. What movie is this from?

  • The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad

  • Thanks. I don't believe I've ever seen that one. I'll have to check it out some time.

  • nooo its the wind and willows and that 1 they were a double feature

  • 3:03

ah disneyland, THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

soooooo... why exactly doeshe go to hell?

  • Pretty standard dark ride, but thanks for the video.

  • I never did get to ride this one :( I got sick right before my family was going on and soon after my trip they scrapped it.

  • This version surprisingly makes more sense than DL's version.

  • Wow -- so you're killed by an oncoming train, then go to hell. Excellent. It's fun watching it on film, and I remember those rides were very intense in person.

  • @darkprose tell me about it. when my mom took me on that ride, i was scared for life because of that. not i am scard of the dark. (not comment on me being affrad GOT IT?)

  • Got it, ClubpenguinCutie7.

  • Why the heck don't I remember the hell part?

  • Even when I was a kid, I thought that the Hell part at the end was F'n AWESOME!!!!

  • Not every ride at Walt Disney World offers a glimpse into the afterlife, but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride aims to please.

    I miss it!

  • Yeah WDW screwed up when they removed Mr. Toads, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Skyway, and the old slow Swan Boats. These were some rides that made Disney special for me as a kid. They will be missed.

  • So sad that this is gone now. One of the better rides at MK.

  • This ride is closed as WDW? I haven't been in 12 years, but I'm going back in January. I've been to WDL many a'time. Glad they didn't take it out there.

  • The Winnie the Pooh ride that took it's place is pretty cute, my 14 year old loves it...it's alll he knows from age 5! Gotta take the kids to DL for the TOAD RIDE, they hate to hear me talk about it!!! Ride the Pooh!!! Look for Toad passing the deed to Owl in the ride...it's a FIND IT!!!

  • aghh i remember going on the disneyland version, like when i was about 6 and i guessed they eventually changed it cuz when i went on it was just flames, and i was screaming my head off.

  • ive never been on this ride

  • This was the BEST Magic Kingdom ride! I am still boycotting the Winnie the Pooh ride!

  • is this ride based off a movie, cause i've never heard of it...

  • The Wind in the Willows

  • Yeah, it's an old short. You can find it on DVD double featured with Ichabod Crane. If you like old Disney animation, definitely check it out.

  • WOW same here. I hated that ride, it freaked me out

  • I'm sure it's been said, but WtP just generates more profit thatn Mr. Toad. But what's frustrating is that the area across from this ride (which used to be the subs and is now covered over) is pretty much wasted. I wish they had put this Pooh ride there and kept Toad! One of my favs of all time.

  • They still have this ride at Disneyland and replaced Country Bear Jamboree with the Pooh ride. Also, the subs are still operating, only they changed the sets to Finding Nemo.

  • Yea, something I dont understand is how Disneyland can still have theirs and winnie the pooh, and a storybookland and a countless number of more darkrides in there fantasyland. But the Magic Kingdom had to sacrifice Toad for Pooh. It makes no sense to me. Also that the Pooh play place across from the pooh ride could have been the pooh ride or something else, and they could have kept toad.

  • I still haven't been to Magic Kingdom, but I've always heard that it's bigger than Disneyland. Seems like they're wasting space, replacing the classics and not adding new rides to vacant areas.

  • Oh ya, it def. is. I was kinda shocked to see how close all the lands were to the hub in Disneyland. And some of the rides were viewable from the hub too. The magic Kingdom is def. bigger and has more space, and you would think because of that it would have more to do in it than DL does, but you couldnt be more wrong. Pretty much every ride thats in DL thats also in the MK is better in DL with the exception of maybe Splash mt. and Space mt. depending on who you ask. MK has to cathc up to DL.

  • I always thought of MK as the newer and better DL. Guess I was way off. But from what I've seen of Animal Kingdom on youtube, California Adventure doesn't even compare. CA has some cool attractions, but AK looks amazing.

  • Yea AK is pretty cool. Not my personal fav. but its cool. I enjoyed Cali Adventure though, I like Toy Story mania over there better than mgm because theirs still has a singles line and its right by Cali screamin and the malimoomer. But with all the money being poured into CA, it should be looking better in the next few years.

  • Yeah, they're giving it a makeover and adding a Little Mermaid ride and something called World Of Color. Should be cool, as long as they don't get rid of Tower Of Terror or Soarin' Over California.

  • Yea, supposedly the world of color is suppose to be like fantasmic, so it should be really good. I kinda wish theyd keep the maliboomer though as I enjoyed that one more than the tower of terror. Imo its better at mgm. But overall CA should be a better park real soon.

  • @G2red89 I think in Disneyland, Pooh replaced The Country Bears

  • Mr. Toad's Wild Ride >>>>>>>>>>>>> Pooh's Ride

  • I think too many litlle kids got freaked out on this ride, so they put in Pooh bearr

  • Well...

Walt Disney's original idea was that the parks and attractions keep changing over time. and hey, they still have Mr. Toad over in Disneyland!

  • Who uses the term 'Bogus???' must be old and a loser

  • I consider this ride to be the best in theme park history. It was so quirky and had such a sense of adventure and humor which even as a little kid I appreciated. I only cried at Disney World 3 times in my life and one of them is when I came to see this ride replaced by Winnie the pooh. If they were going to take down Mr. Toad they should of at least ensured that the ride they were replacing it with surpassed or at least was its equivalent. The most juvenile character in Disney history didn't.

  • Continued

    3. Winnie the Pooh is more popular than Mr. Toad and his friends

If the Wind in the Willows is released on video several times by Disney, the characters must be a least recognizable. Also, Splash Mountain is another popular WDW ride, yet it's based of an even more obscure Disney movie.

    4. Mr. Toad was a low capacity ride

Actually, the ride's replacement has worse capacity than Toad.

The only real reason the ride closed was because of pure greed.

  • Continued

    2. The Ride was too scary for young children

Then why has Disney has recently opened such rides as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and, just down the path from where the ride used to stand, The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, which was described by Disney as "the most frightening thriller of all Magic Kingdom attractioins?

  • Let's examine Disney's excuses to close this ride

    1. The ride was outdated

There are rides in WDW like Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan's Flight that been around since 1971 and have never recieved any significent rehab, but they still remain one of the most popular Disney ride. If Disney though Toad was outdated, they could have gave it a rehab on the level of Disneyland's Toad ride. Also, if Toad's technology was oudated, why was it used in the nightmare scene of the Pooh ride.

  • They should bring it back!

  • there is a tomb stone at the haunted mansion of mr toad lol

  • For real??? that would be so cool! Miss this ride.

  • Its cool that they have Mr. Toad AND Pooh at Disneyland. Why cant they have done that here?

  • wow... i think it's good Disney replaced this with Pooh i would've liked this better but don't you think being in hell would kinda scare some children? i don't know i never got to ride this :(

  • TFS! I missed thsi one both times I visited. It seems better than the DL version.

  • how can anyone say that the Winnie the Pooh ride is better than this!!???!!!

  • As a kid, that train used to thrill me.

  • Hmmm... I like DL's Hell sequence better...

  • Agreed. The hell sequence at Disneyland has actual rockwork. This is just some painted walls.

I also like how it is seriously hot in the hell room at Disneyland.

  • I've never seen WDW's version before...I like the fact that the Weasels are in the jail with the dynamite... at the DL version, they're briefly shown in the beginning, hanging on the chandeliers...

  • If there was any ride that should come beack to disney, it should be this, im mean come on you go to hell in the end thats fun

  • I only rode it once but I still like Winnie the Pooh. Hes my buddy

  • hooray for J. Thadeus Toad boo for pooh

  • The train part at the end was great. For some reason my brother and I loved this ride as kids. We would go on it over and over. We were really sad to learn that it had closed. Though now seeing this I guess it wasn't really that great and it makes sense that it is gone.

  • About the same as something you'd find in Branson or Wisconsin Dells...

And why is he in Hell at the end...

  • because he stole a car and got ran over by a train

  • toad rules pooh should be shot and burned!

  • This ride scared me soo much when I was little!

  • me too! I was 5 when I rode it and my parents blamed me for driving into the devils

  • I went wen I was 3 and I thought I was going to die

  • haha I was 7 when I rode it. I went with my brother and when it turned to the train, my brother went "Why did you drive right into the train!? You just killed us!" and then I saw "Hell" and for a second, I was just like "Oh crap crap crap crap I just sent us to hell!"

I didn't like feeling like I was responsible for that...made me feel like a failure.

It's a shame that they closed it...In all seriousness, they have PLENTY of room for new attractions. They didn't have to close one to make Pooh!

  • This ride scared me so much when you go to hell....all those little demon things, but even worse was the guy on the stack of books who looked like he was going to fall over (on the Disneyland one).

I will be so sad if they close Disneylands. The pooh ride sucks.

  • I don't think they'll dare touch the one in Disneyland beacuse they already got ALOT of pissed Toad fans and the Country Bear Jambory was already murderd for Poohs sake =P

  • The ride at Disneyland is still very popular.

I hope they never take it out. It adds that old time fun to fantasyland.

  • I was really sad about it being closed.

  • Is this ride too scary for a five and eight year old?

  • I last rode this when I was 6 years old, back in 1982. Fun times....

  • soooooo excited going in 2 months i go sooo much but its still fun as hell i cant get enough of it lol ive alredy been 1nce this year but im still excited to go again cause theres always so much stuff thats new to do and so much stuff u want to do again eeeeek

  • YYEAAAHH!! Ok, my mom has always talked about this ride since I was little, and since she reminded me about it yesterday, I decided to look for it! And here it is!!! She loved the train part =] I cant wait to tell her!! THANK YOU!!!

  • my mom does too! she said she couldn't get me off of it when i was 5. i didn't remember it at all lol

  • one of the most bizarre/fun rides ever, to hell and back literally...

  • This was my favorite ride as a kid and I was SO pissed when it was replaced by Pooh at Disney World. Thank you for allowing me to relive a piece of my childhood again.

  • to hell and back, haha. I loved that ride, my parents hated it. Funny thing was I was scared of just about every other ride.

  • Thanks for the post! it is one of the rides I went on with my mom last time she went with me to Disney and she said she is too old to do Disney Anymore so I can watch this and "go to Disney" with her!!!

  • Whoa! I had no idea that there were ever two tracks for this ride. Both tracks are really different, and what's even weirder is that neither of these tracks is like the one at Disneyland. They basically made three versions of the same ride. That's so cool.

  • Sad thing about this ride is it's not there anymore. I guess this ride didn't seem very kid-friendly, and that's why they replaced it with the Winnie the Pooh ride.

  • The main reasons why they replaced Mr. Toad with Pooh is 1.Pooh T-shirts 2.Pooh plush toys 3.Pooh candy 4.Pooh hats 5.Pooh shoes 6.Pooh everything you can possibly imagine. Sorry to sound so cynical, but the sad reality is that many people, young and old aren't familiar with the Disney version of "The Wind in the Willows" or J. Thaddeus Toad for that matter. So rather than try to market Mr. Toad toys etc. they went with a known favorite. The Pooh ride is good but I miss the Toad.

  • lol yeah when i was about 4 i went on this ride and i was scarred which resulted in me being afraid to go on all the other rides at Disney xD lol

  • They should keep this ride at Disneyland as a historical landmark, it is an opening day classic that still has relatively long lines compared to Snow White and Pinocchio.

  • Tally ho! Tally ho! Tally ho! Are we on our way to Nottingham? To Brittingham, to Buckingham? Or any hammy hamlet by the sea? No! And now we're on our way to Devonshire To Lancashire to Worcestershire The jolly old road that goes to Plymouth Ho! We're merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Merrily on our way To nowhere in particular We're merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Merrily on our way Though the roads are perpendicular
  • this would be me on the ride when we get on the train track (i never got to ride this i was like 3 years old, but my sis rode it): (we get on the track) "oh snap... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh......jeeze.... (Train starts coming) ahhhhhhhhhAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! (as we go through hell) ... (as we start to get out of the car) (slowly look at the person next to me, it could of been a stranger, and i would of said) DID WE JUST GO TA HELL!?!?!?!?!
  • 2:17, u go to jail for nothing?

  • Grand theft auto, according to the original story.

  • in 1992 I remember being 5 years old and screaming when the car was heading for the train head on. my older brother was like Brandon were going to die!!!

  • I didn't even get to ride this!!! When I went, Pooh was there! Pooh's boring, I wanna ride THIS!!!!

  • Yah, Pooh took over Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disney World in Florida, but it's still at California.

  • is it fast

  • I remember going on this ride back in 1995. They definately changed it a few years later.

  • i miss this ride because it was like i never knew what was going to happen! right or left right or lefty who knew!!

  • It's kinda funny how Toad has allways been blasted with critisicm about the train & hell scenes, when you did die in the original Snow White. Instead of the Witch being electrified (still pretty gruesome), she seemed to drop it and the next room was a black room with bright explosion-y type pait. Like what's after DL's train scene.

  • its a fun ride for kids because they think their driving the car, but as you get older its really just a cheese ride.

thanks for putting up the vid though, i thought it was great, no offense to anybody, id hate for you youtubers to get ANGRY with me, since thats never happend (sarcasim)

  • I miss this ride, it was my favorite as a kid.

  • I miss this ride, now it's something to do with peter pan. Blech
