  • The first time i revved up the car, i just sat their stunned and drove for ages, listening to this song lol

  • Oh, yeah... Good old Chrysalis Highwayman!!!

  • I never got the car for f2 :(

  • FUCK YOU!

Fallout 2 install process at 52%..2

  • Fallout series. The worlds greatest franchise in the world.

  • I never got the car without looking up the walkthrough.....

  • In the gmod map gm_atomic, this plays on a radio

  • Fuckin' B-A-D-A-S-S. That is all.

  • 1 person is an idiot.

  • They used this piece in that short-lived TV series Prey, of whom Mark Morgan was the musical composer.

  • 1 person did not find the Fuel Cell Controller

  • @aleksanderKSC And 1 other skipped the Den all together...

  • @aleksanderKSC

    Let's give him a ride.

  • fallout 2. the best RPG i've ever played

  • It gives me a shiver every time. I thank you for the upload.

  • They should seriously make a series or a movie, this story has such an awesome potential.

  • DO I SMELL ENGINEER?

  • THEY SHOULD ADD CARS ON NEW FALLOUTS .. :(/

  • @Plaayboarding But all the cars are supposed to be dead by now. Highwayman was a lucky exception. And it's not so simple to build all the parts for a car from scratch. Who still remembers how to build a car?

  • @is4ias ..you can relearn evertything i mean they know all the other things too so why shoudlnt they know how to repair cars haha :D it would give the game such an unique mad max style feeling and also bigger maps i guess eventually in fallout nv there is going to be an addon with vertibirds.. would be cool but i'd like to build my own car in fallout :D

  • @Plaayboarding Because they still use weapons, vertibirds and power armors. It's been a lot of years since the last working car. At that time Highwayman and the brotherhood's hummer were the only cars. If it was easy to just relearn everything then the cars would still be used and somehow fuel would still be made.

  • @is4ias hmm ..? and why shouldn't they add a car on a new fallout? would be awesome or at least meet highway man :( i just played fallout 3 and fallout new vegas do i play now :D i'm just 16 i don't game as long as you

  • @Plaayboarding You can find the Highwayman in New Vegas. I'll not spoil anything else but just say don't get your hopes up.

Also, there's a drivable car mod for Fallout 3, if you play on PC.

  • @ozerataoglu yeah i found him :D i just said it would be cool if you could repair a car for a group enclave ncr BOS or something in the next fallout and stuff

  • @Plaayboarding ... Uh, I'm fourteen. Anyway that doesn't really matter. If they added cars on new fallouts it would be kind of contradicting or nonsensical to the story of fallout. As another guy said, you could get a mod instead.

  • @is4ias those car mods look mostly ridicilous even if they work well i couldn't cause i play on console and i don't want to. why shouldn't they add cars'? it's not ridicilous i'm not talking about that everybody should have a car just you or something witch you find at a bunker and you can repair it like a quest.. would be cool :D

  • @is4ias there was a tank and a bike too lol

  • sounds like a Walker Texas Ranger soundtrack for the show

  • (heading to some random place) "Car outta power" :(

    (trunk disappears)

  • gonna sample this and make a beat out of it. this beat is good bad and ugly.

  • 0 dislikes :)

  • This song just makes me think of marcus all scrunched up and brainbot having his arms up both having a pleasant conversation in the backseat. Cassidy and Vic looking on having a wtf look on their faces at them talking. Sulik hanging out of the front passenger seat window shouting, waving a spear, and loving the speed. And the Chosen One driving with a smirk on his face. and maybe K-9 in his lap putting his head out the window with the sun reflecting off is metallic cover. Idk i love this song :)

  • The title is actually "My Chrysalis Highwayman"

  • holy shit 117 likes!

  • surely one of the songs appropriate for a lone ride in the desert...

  • I love how there are 0 dislikes

  • @Super16BitGamer and 1 moron needs to ruin it.. god damnit!

  • @Allyouneedisdance well there ARE a few enclave members out there.

  • Chosen one: Aaaaawwwwww Marcus cut one!

    Party: Marcus!!

Marcus: Better out than in i always say!

  • If They Ever Make A Fallout Movie This Song Should Be Playing When The Lw Finds Dogmeat And The Car

  • The Car In The Game Looks Like Mad Max's Car In Roadwarrior

  • Oh shit, it's Enclave Patrol! Get in the car!

  • @bsnighteye We can't stop here. This is Enclave country.

  • I took my sweet old time getting the car... I should have made it my first priority, I didn't realise how much it was worth the trouble.

  • If only you had sunglasses...

  • @LULZYMANUVER

There is! Just kill Mason in New Reno (Salvators right hand man) then you can snatch his sun glasses from his cold dead hand (or pieces).... The sunglasses give you +1 charisma

  • @hanchiman

You an also dig 'em up in the graveyard near Reno, in Golgotha.

Don't remember wich grave exactly. Be careful though, if you dig out enough graves you'll get the gravedigger perk wich drops your karma and eliminates the possibilty to recruit certain followers.

  • @InsomnicNarcoleptic

I think you get the grave digger perk after you dig more than one grave (I think it was like 3 or so). So you can always use your secret weapon the Quick Save button! (Unless you patched the game to the latest version then welcome to Gamebug hell!).

  • Goosebums Anyone :-P ?

  • Classic, better than this new shitty Fallout.

  • SO MUCH LIKE MAD MAX!!

  • the best music in the games...

  • I can imagine the Chosen One driving the car while looking vacantly at the vast wasteland in search for his kidnapped villagers. While Sulik is riding shotgun once in a would say something about Grampy Bone wisdom and Vic had be cramped up with Marcus at the back of the car.

  • @hanchiman And Myron in the trunk! LOL :)

  • @Nebulatus

But I usually would drop him off in the middle of nowhere (A bug or glitch I think, since dropping off an NPC in the wasteland, they would disappear forever). Preferably close to a high radiation area.

  • best game musik ever!!! I love it so much, *old memories* one word: COOL! or not?

  • best game musik ever!!! I love it so much, *old memories* one word: COOL!

  • Car in FO3? In 5 minutes you can travel the whole DC and the surrounding zone.

In FO 1 & 2 it takes days to travel, even by car.

  • love this so much. evokes such strong feelings whilst playing.

  • fallout 3 lacked quite a bit

    but most of all

    it lacked atmosphere

  • I am reminded of Mad Max for some reason.

  • @MrAdmiralsnackbar one of the leather jackets in game is a mad max replica mah boi,

and Mad Max probably was an inspiration for this.

  • Comment removed

  • The Car in Fallout is like the Bicycle in Pokemon.

One you get it, things become easier in the game.

  • @dnzrx You do have to pay for the micro fusion or small energy cells to fuel it.

  • @xjod9 not if you trick the chop shop guy into thinking you're with the bishop family, you can get free cells ever two weeks :D

  • @Snotlingfondler Yeah, but that involves going to New Reno every two weeks. It's not hard to get micro fusion cells for free anyway. All you do is go to San Francisco, buy all the cells from the two shops there (they usually have like, 500 each) put them in the trunk, and then steal the money back.

  • @xjod9 yup, the great thing about fallout, theres no one way of doing it haha.

  • @xjod9 But don't take the car to San Francisco, because then it will disappear, and never come back!

  • @xjod9 Patches, im afraid i dont know wich though, the forums helps. sometimes i have it and sometimes i dont

  • God damnit, this piece should of been in Fallout 3 somewhere, those riffs give me goosebumps.

  • @MrNickWright You can add it with a the HD Audio mod.

  • Definitely one of my favorite tracks from Fallout 2 (apart from "All Clear Signal"/the Vault City theme, and "Dream Town"/Theme from Modoc)

The only thing I do wish, was that Mark Morgan would have made a extended mix of this running at twice or three times as long (and yeah I can always loop it, but not entirely the same.)

  • Really love this music, It has athmosphere.

  • Gonna loop this while playing Fallout 3 on the 360.

  • This should be included to a Fallout movie if they ever make one. Simply awesome!

  • Calm yet epic. Nice.

  • yeaaaaa, coool music and best game in the world imho! :D

  • this is fucking awesome!!!

  • This is one of the finest pieces of music in the Fallout games.

-The easegoing theme with the feeling of the hot Sun on your face while roaming the dry wastelands is so well put into this.

It's the athmosphere, not just the music.

  • @ArmaFennica that's a bit like mad max

  • When i got the car and went to the map for the first time and heard this music, it reminded me of mad max

  • tthe real name for this is called "My Chrysalis Highwayman."

  • When, after quite hard work, I finally got the car ready to drive and heard this music for the first time, that was a truly magical gaming moment. I was overwhelmed with pure happiness!

  • Soooooooo Awesome, I can't believe my game glitched and I lost my car.

  • Brings tears, this music.

  • Absolutely fantastic

  • There is a Car Mod for Fallout 3 (for PC users), Called GTS (Global Traveling System). Open the door for modders who want to expand locations beyond the Capital Wasteland.

  • They could have used this one in Fallout3...

  • If you play the PC version you can go to the Fallout 3 Nexus website and look for a mod called Ultimate Fallout 3 Music Mod, it adds all the music from the old games.

  • I use it.. It's ace.. Simply ace <3

  • They could have used a damn car in Fallout 3. It sucks that they didn't. Like you could find a broken car in Scrapyard or something that, if your Repair skill was high enough, you could find parts for and fix it up to get it working. It could've been like a Miscellaneous Quest that you could immerse yourself in or just ignore completely. What a shame.

  • I know how you feel, I wanted to be able to fix up one of those broken-down Corvegas and tear up the post-apoc streets Mad Max style.

  • Yeah, I think that they also crippled any chance of modding a car into the game by making the maps so bloody hilly. I guess "realism" was the goal, and no car, or a motorbike for the matter, was planned. Bloody shame.

  • God people seem to have no idea about the practical obstacles that this would have, the game engine is not designed to accomodate vehicles, the game doesn't have a physics engine for vehicles. If you were to add in vehicles, it would take months or even years for them to create a physics engine to work with the game engine to allow vehicles, and you would need to redesign the game engine to accommodate a physics engine. And no, Vertibirds don't have physics, they use animations.

  • Fallout 2 had a car o_o

    its was a special encounter

  • it is not a special encounter.

it is a quest, you can buy a car from a person

  • what is a special encounter?

  • an extremely rare encounter or event (Example, the cafe of broken dreams, or the Alien Ship in fallout 1 (and fallout 3)

  • It isn't, you talk to Smitty and will sell it to you if you can find a part for it. It's a quest.

  • No, I understand it just fine. After all, the only "vehicles" in Oblivion were horses, which were essentially no different than any other NPC just a bit faster. I just think it would be cool if there were some unmarked quest in Fallout 3 where you get to breathe life back into an old Pre-war car, or build one along the lines of the car in Half-Life 2 Episode 2. It could just fast-travel from one place to another with a smaller passage of time regardless if there are enemies around.

  • But what is the bonus of fast-traveling with the car over just normally fast traveling? Time doesn't matter, so in Fo3, it isn't very useful.

  • I'm just saying, with a car you could fast-travel even if there's enemies nearby. Just leave them in your dust. Whatever, I'm just throwing around ideas here, I'm not looking for an argument.

  • Im not looking for an argument, just saying that it would need sufficient bonuses to be more useful than just a pain.

  • I would not care much for the speed bit, as long as it drived like a care... I would enjoy just cruising around the Wasteland with my leather armored character, Dogmeat, and his sawed off shotgun...

  • @MisterVidicus "WE GO IIN! WE KILL THEM!! WE KILL THEM ALL!!!"

"be still, my dog of war. we do things MY way."

    "GAAAAAAAAAHHHHH (gurgle gurgle)"

  • @devbain666

    "Losers way!"

  • @MisterVidicus haha. mad max rules

  • @GoldsteinsBook yeah but in fallout tactics i used to love driving the hummer and running over raiders then backing up and pinning them under the back wheel then getiing out and stabbing them to death with my spear.

  • Even Fallout 2 did not have a real working car, all it was was a few modifications to the script to allow faster travel, a locker, and a static object that has a modifier, its power levels which judges the speed it travels at.

  • @GoldsteinsBook Yeah but you have fast travel in Fallout 3 so you don't need a car. I wish there was a car though! Well, there's a mod for that.

  • @GoldsteinsBook "too busy shitting over the franchise, sorry!" - says bethesda. Hopefully things will change with obsidian in control

  • @GoldsteinsBook

They don't have a car in Fallout 3 because of the fast travel feature. That, and because the rocky landscape of the wasteland would be unsuitable for driving.

  • @GoldsteinsBook u cant get a car in fallout 3?

  • @GoldsteinsBook

i agree. although someone did get a motorbike to run around in a mod, it moves unnaturally. but the chimera tank doesn't if you find the mod for that.

  • @GoldsteinsBook

fallout 3 lacks time limit and random encounters, so a car would be pretty much useless

  • theres no fuel in the cars ... tiers are destroyed ... and it would kill the atmosphere of being a in a wasteland

  • @XxWolfpack247xX the cars had nuclear reactors-no fuel needed

  • still needed uranium to power them ...

  • @GoldsteinsBook or atleast a motor bike, probably dirt bike due to rugged terrain

  • @GoldsteinsBook At first I figured finding all these motor cycle parts indicated I might get to ride a motor cycle or something.

Then again, adding a car when they'd mapped out the whole wasteland area would involve programming a whole new physics engine (Can your Highwayman run over a Hellfire Trooper? Let's find out...) and the topography of certain areas would have been difficult to handle. How frustrating would it be when you had to reload every time you accidentally drove over a cliff?

  • @eslington There's mods that let you drive motorcycles for the PC version.

  • I thought that soundtrack is called "My Chrysalis Highwayman" not "Car"
