  • I've never been to Newfoundland but in a recent discussion we had at my company about an event with a Canada-wide theme, I have to say that Newfoundland provided the most interesting array of cultural icons (along with Quebec, the Maritimes, Alberta and BC). All anyone could come up with from Ontario was the CN Tower and Niagara Falls.

  • Newfoundland: The land of endless EI benefits!

  • @Spudst3r

Bullshit, you jealous, arrogant, ignorant asshole.

Newfoundland is a have province and your province is probably being subsidized by Newfoundland's wealth and contribution to the Canadian economy.

  • @jaydedhart What I'm saying about the ad is irrelevant to whether or not I understood it. I'm saying it was a poor choice of style for an advertisement. as an art film, yes, it's beautiful... and open to interpretation I might add. As an ad, it's vague. I think we need to agree to disagree. You thought the ad was effective, I didn't. No amount of discussion will change either view, we have different ways of looking at things. Let's stop this okay?

  • Looks like a beautiful place, but what a dumb ad. What was it trying to say? That Newfoundland is a great place to hang out your washing?

  • @roeas29 No, they're trying to say it's a fairly remote place with the freshest air on the continent.

  • @roeas29 if you don't get it, don't attempt to say it's dumb. Just because you're ignorant to it's message doesn't mean it's dumb it just means you're not bright enough to understand!

  • @jaydedhart

If you can't type with correct grammar, don't attempt to call me ignorant. Not being pretentious enough to pretend to understand doesn't make me ignorant. I happen to agree with Rheosatik under me, it's probably just trying to convey beauty of the place - there's no "message". I guarantee you the washing was only added to make it feel like less of an advertisement and more of an art film and increasing the odds of people being moved by it. There's no message here, only advertising.

  • @roeas29 Correct grammar? Never mind the fact that you're oblivious to the message, YES MESSAGE the ad is sending out. I can "guarantee" you can't guarantee squat about the ad because YOU didn't make it. You saying it's "dumb" because you don't get it, is in fact being ignorant. Had you said, "Nice ad, but I don't get it," maybe I wouldn't have said you were ignorant.

  • Comment removed

  • @jaydedhart

You didn't make the ad either, so how do you know there is a message? I know you're just trying to defend Newfoundland, and good on you, but it's just the way all advertising works - uses every trick in the book to get the viewer on their side. And even if I have missed a message, that says something about the ineffectiveness of the ad, not me - it did an absolutely terrible job of conveying it. Out of interest, what do you think the message is? Honest question, I'm not having a go.

  • @roeas29 I may not have made the ad, but having had Advertising in College gives me a little more knowledge of how advertisements work. The message is as clear as what the narrator said, "You don't have to go to a museum to experience art as it is right in front of your eyes, outside." Not just in Newfoundland as many places in the world are beautiful, but this is an ad for Newfoundland. When someone doesn't get the message, it by no means makes the ad, "dumb."

  • @jaydedhart

Also - "You don't have to go to a museum to experience art as it is right in front of your eyes, outside." That's a PERFECT message. BUT - I would have thought that the art that the ad is trying to show off is the natural art of the landscape. My problem with the ad is that the washing in the wind does nothing to convey that message and just comes across (personally) as "artsy" - just having the appearance of being artistic, but really being quite shallow in meaning.

  • @roeas29 The ad is trying to show off the natural art of the landscape. That's all part of the art. Including the laundry. If you don't know that people make their own blankets, then you wouldn't get that part of the message, you'd get the landscape part of it, which you can clearly see beyond the laundry. The ad grabs the person who is looking at the landscape but is also grabbing the crafty person who knows about handmade blankets. There is more to this than you realize.

  • @roeas29 If you didn't listen to the narrator, then it's not ineffective. And yes, it is you because you said it was "dumb." It's like math in school, if you don't get it, it doesn't make the math dumb, it's just that you're ignorant to it's formulas. Ignorant - the state of being uninformed. I'm just throwing that out there, not as an insult, but clearly as an observation.

  • @jaydedhart

There's a huge difference between maths and and art. Maths is objective - you're either right or wrong. Art is created and subjective. There is no right or wrong and it's up to to the artist to get their point across. Simply because I don't find a message in this ad doesn't make me ignorant - perhaps cynical or uninspired, or perhaps the artist didn't get the message across well.

You're also focusing too much on "dumb". I didn't mean it literally. I just didn't like the ad.

  • @roeas29 I'm not comparing Math and Art. I'm only using it as an example...if you don't understand math, math isn't dumb...you just don't get it. Which falls into the whole premise as to why I said you were ignorant towards the ad by suggesting it was dumb and with the addition of you saying you "didn't like it." It's not dumb.

  • @jaydedhart

But using math doesn't work as a comparison. Maths is NOT manmade - it is objective and set in stone, and therefore can never be wrong. Art IS manmade, therefore it's up to the ARTIST to make the message clear. You simply can't use math as a metaphor for me not seeing the message in the ad.

I disagree about the the ad showing the landscape AND the laundry. The focus is CLEARLY on the laundry.

  • @roeas29 The ad didn't fail -- You just didn't get it. People always put excuses on things THEY have the responsibility of, regardless of anything else it's always someone else who's at fault. Fact is, you didn't get the message which means you're at fault for not getting it.

  • @jaydedhart

Also, I disagree that I'm solely to blame for not seeing the message. If you go to an art gallery and see a picture of, say, a toilet, and the artist tells you that the message about love or something, then that wouldn't be you not getting the message. That's just a bad artist.

Obviously the ad isn't THAT bad, but still, it's not always the viewer's fault. Sometimes the artist is just a crappy artist.

  • @roeas29 And sometimes a critical audience is just a crappy critical audience. Regardless of anything, you still called it "dumb." It wasn't dumb, you just didn't understand it.

  • @jaydedhart

You're taking "dumb" too literally. It was a passing comment, like when someone calls something "gay".

You're also still being very personal about this. I've been respectful of you, and given thought-out reasons why I thought the ad failed to communicate its message. You just keep patronising me and implicitely calling me stupid. I think I've made it obvious I'm not the stupid YouTube troll you seemed to think I was when you first replied to my comment.

  • @roeas29 And you're searching for an insult that's not there. I didn't "implicitly" call you anything. I said, YOU SIMPLY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IT. Not understanding something doesn't make one stupid, it just means you didn't get it. I'm not attempting to patronize you and I didn't think you were a "stupid YouTube troll," either. Funny. You keep making comments like you know the inner workings of my thought process and imply I say things that I don't. People are odd like that.

  • @roeas29 And you're looking for an insult that isn't there. I didn't "implicitly" call you stupid. I said you SIMPLY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. If a person doesn't understand it doesn't mean they are stupid. I'm not patronizing you and I didn't think you were a "stupid YouTube troll," either. Funny. You act as though you know the inner workings of my though processes and imply I say things that I don't.

  • @roeas29 Newfoundland people have been drying their clothes outside for years. Some traditions and customs never go away. Newfoundland people make their own quilts and blankets, that's another tradition that is still alive. It's been deemed, folk art, by some. The ad does not suggest it's a "fairly remote place with the freshest air." People consider art in many forms and hanging homemade blankets on the line is a form of art to some people.

  • @jaydedhart

Sure, it's art on its own, but it has no context in the ad. It's a tourist commercial, and so you can safely assume that those that the ad is aimed at would be unfamiliar with Newfoundland traditions and customs.

  • I love these Newfoundland ads. They're gorgeous - they pull at my heart strings.

  • man Newfoundland is so beautiful, I remember mom hanging clothes out on the line, and that fresh smell on them when they were dried. Ah, can't wait to go back home for a good scoff of Jiggs and some Black horse beer while someone is playing the accordion in my dad's Shed!

  • This place is beautiful. Anyone know where in NF this is?

  • Newfoundland EFFING ROCKS!! All the haters out there are just jealous of our global popularity, everyone with an IQ above room temperature loves Newfoundland and Newfoundlanders!

    Long Live Newfoundland!

  • @kwnewfie I also am a Newfoundlander :)

  • Almost made me cry, I want to go here so badly. This is beautiful.

  • I am from Newfoundland and Labrador, I now live in Ontario. This commercial is one of many that Newfoundland tourism offers, so to those critics who are slamming it because it shows kids, the coast line and clothes hanging on a line-- this is a familiar sight for me. I thought it was beautiful and captured a part of the province. To those who dislike the province, that's fine-- leaves more room for people who do choose to make it home. Great job on the ad. Made me homesick.

  • EdmontonArtist:we dont care if your from AB....and newfoundland and labrador is not one of the poorest provinces ........plus we have the most beautiful senery in north america too!

  • i can't wait til summer i am going i this place yay!!!!! im so fuckin excited tho!

  • love the music. anyone know the name or did they make it for the commercial?

  • Yay for commercials

  • Swordofjustice Is nothing more then an internet troll , he comes to a page that promotes Newfoundland and Labrador tourism and lashes out. If you were smart you would not even respond to him , it is exactly what he wants , he is obviously not getting any attention in his reality and is leading a sad miserable existence . I am a Newfoundlander and nothing he can say or anyone else will ever make me feel inferior , love my home and my people like so many outside the Province .

  • Hey, if you have something bad to say. Give me your name, things of that nature, i'll buy you a one way ticket here. Bring you to George Street. Then you can fly home in a Air Ambulance.

Oh, he took the flag down to prove a point. It obviously worked considering the PM dished us the 2 Billion he owed us.

  • Of all Canadian tourism ads, I think Newfoundland Ads come with a punch!

  • us quebeckers have shit adds "cam' 'eere we go in to keek yore facking ess!"

  • I live in Ontario and i'm proud to be Canadian, but nobody captivates being Canadian more than the east coasters. God bless. I want to visit Newfoundland really badly.

  • i love the cultured side of newfoundland, and this commercial shows the culture and the beauty. but i wish they could incorperate the culture with the modern things here, so they could get the best of both worlds. some idiotic people think theres nothing but fields and rocks but there wrong, it is also modern and i wish they also showcased that side of newfoundland but still also showed the beautiful cultural peaceful side of newfoundland. God bless newfoundland

  • Newfoundland is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Been there 5x and will be going back.

  • FUCKIN' Newfoundland!

I've been there 2x and wanna go back!

  • WHAT IS THIS SONG CALLED???

  • Jak,

The 50% stat is something he pulled out of his behind. NL's unemployment rate is much lower than what this dimwit is claiming. And don't believe that he's working in Afghanistan; I can smell a loser on his mom's computer a mile away.

  • BS.... whos your C.O. what company are you with?

  • @swordofjutice TROLL .

  • @thejiveturkey actually it is 12.1 but.after the battle with ottawa we are now able to keep enough revenue from our oil to develop more industry and get ourselves out of debt. Its getting better and fast. We are now paying in to equalization whereas ontario took out 347 million in transfer payments last year. There were 60 thousand people unemployed in newfoundland last year, but a million people in ontario were unemployed... sadly it will take time for peoples ignorance about NL to fade..

  • These videos are GREAT.

I am from Philly and going for 25 days in July, really looking forward to it.

I wonder if they have enough $ in the budget to air these on US east coast cities...

  • I am a Newfoundlander, going to school in Quebec (not because of poor schools or anything, because I wanted to learn French) I love my home! It is beautiful, calm, relaxing, unquestionably one of the most beautiful and unique places on this earth!

If you haven't visited, you really should! I am not saying this as a plead nor am I preaching. I just want people to be able to wake up and see the true beauty that I am blessed to see everyday.

    It is worth it!

  • Now you've made me mad! I agree that we do have the highest unemployment rate in Canada, and we do receive help from the Federal government through the equalization plan in which both of our provinces are receiving help, 347 million for Ontario and 465 million for Newfoundland. I do see how Ontario should be getting tired of the help they are receiving themselves? And by the way, my scholarship is not from any government, it is from one of the most predominant families in Quebec! not welfare!

  • swordofjutice

One day you'll move out of your mom's basement and be introduced to things such as newspapers: Ontario is a "have not" province, while NL has joined the ranks of the "haves". If you don't know what that means, maybe your supervisor at Wendy's can explain it to you.

  • So you decided to take the mature route and call a 16 year old boy and asshole! that is just great! It is obvious that you have never visited Newfoundland in your life, for you would see that the 50% of the population that works, works hard for their families! Both my parents are lawyers who work 10 hours a day, five days a week to support my brother and myself. The other 50%, you so call welfares, may not even be provided the basics that you take for granted everyday.

  • Next time think before you say something that you don't know anything about. Life is hard! Newfoundland is not the richest, no, but it is one of the most beautiful places in the world! You obviously don't know what you are missing.

And remember, take the high road next time, and don't call the 16 year old an asshole!

Hope to see you soon in my beautiful, peaceful, charming province!

  • swordofjutice,

You certainly sound like a well-educated and intelligent guy and I'm sure the genetic pool you came from is second to none. If you haven't had a vasectomy yet I highly recommend it. Just throwing it out there...

  • @swordofjutice wow dude do you even know where newfoundland is?cause you just sound like so bigot that got to let the work know you work in Afghanistan who the fuck cares grow up get a real job instead so sucking afgan cock asshole

  • SwordofJustice: Nice homo-erotic name! You are def one of the dumbest adults I've come accross in a while! I'm from AB and I know that St. John's is the OLDEST EUROPEAN SETTLEMENT IN NORTH AMERICA! The reason people settled Canada in the 1st place was because of NL's abundant resources! 500 years of commercial fishing (from fisherman all over the world) & government decides (only 15-20 years ago, not 60) to hault cod fishing, making the fromerly RICHEST city, one of the poorest.

  • @EdmontonArtist you claim to be an artist..if you were truly an artist you would be beyond all that redneck bullshit like a lot of older albertans are...actually st johns is the centre for offshore oil development...it is once again a well off city.

  • .... It was the economic equivalent of the oil industry going to shit in AB! Your lack of history is hilarous, though. I'm sure NL'ers are pleased to have recieved financial support from the federal gvnt after 500 years of doleing it out to the other provinces. Nl'ers are well on their way to being one of the most significant oil producers in North America...we'll see who got the bacon then! Keep your commentary to your favourite transgender chat-rooms...or at least read a book 1st!Douche-Bag!

  • swordofjutice when you done playing Call of Duty, research MUN on google, the same thing you type 'porn' in. You'll find Atlantic Canada's largest university. And imagine, the second lowest tuition rates in almost all of North America. We dont suck the money out of the future here.

  • oh fuck off with your "ontario gives all of canada money" bullshit, it's really alberta and the money that winds up anywhere is taxes taken out of that particular place's pockets, and so the fuck what? in any case newfoundland might be getting its hands on some oil and natural gas once it's been talked out with france, and they'll be giving YOU the money. P.S your also a sick fuck for impersonating military personnel and claiming you've killed people on the internet as a rhetorical anecdote.

  • @akropiss i agree, alberta is carrying canadas economy..but most everyone in alberta moved here from somewhere else..I am glad to be able to come here and make money..met a lot of cool friendly albertans..im not saying all people from ontario are ignorant ..but the most memorable ignorant comments about nfld have been made by people from ontario..and ontario has fuck all..even less than newfoundland..ontario took out 347 million from equalization last year...nl doesent recieve it anymore..

  • Wow, ok.

Canada think's their better then America, America thinks they're better then Canada. Who gives two shits, we're more alike then most people think, except Canada's got French speaking, and America's got Spanish speaking. Ohh well ;\ Get a life and get over it.

  • um we dont think we are better than america, we know we are. america sucks ass period. anyone cares to discuss this matter with me feel free to private msg me .. thanks

  • Dude are you serious?

you are completely missing EVERYTHING here...

  • how can clothes hanging on a line be so beautiful?

  • You are talking about newfieland, don't you know about dannyboy williams. Newfies have a weird sense about them other wise why would they vote for an insane little bastard like williams.

That little prick took down the Canadian flag with Paul Martin and he started a war with Mr. Harper. Now you want Canadian to come to newfieland and spend their money there? Are you all crazy or what?

We are Canadian in the rest of Canada and we will spend our money in Canada thank you very much.

  • what on EARTH are you talking about? i was just saying how lovely newfoundland looks, who's dannyboy williams? and paul martin?

  • Paul Martin was our last Prime Minister and dannyboy is the premier of newfieland.

Newfoundland has been sucking at the tit of Canada for over 60 years and never said thank you. They resently descovered oil and are making lots of money with it but they still want their welfare payments from the rest of Canada. They are greedy, selfish and lazy and newfieland is not a great place to visit. The house are all small and run down except for being painted all wierd bright colours. The people are dumb

  • Comment removed

  • A little jealous are we. You would get your ass handed to you by us newfies if we ever meet you

  • You're Canadian? Really? Because I'm American and I seem to be much better informed about Canada's tenth and easternmost province than you apparently are.

  • Comment removed

  • You are a real charmer. We're laughing at you too.

  • I would'nt Mind going to Newfoundland Some day Nova Scotia gets kinda boring after awhile :<. Im sure it's a prettyb good Island but not the best in the world maybe Best in North America but not the whole world there are tonz of Greate Tropical Islands' and shit like that but IMO Newfoundland and Vancover are the best Islands there are (Sry if i spelt Vancover wrong my grammer sux)

  • Joao vaz corte Real (1472 Portuguese) Was the first to walk that beutifull land, but its o.k. the italian got the credit!! (columbus)

  • Now b'ys I knows dat has to be the best place in da world to live...I would know, I'm from there sure!! Some shock'n good me ol trout...

  • Does anyone know who did the music for this commercial?

  • I'm proud to be an islander

  • It's my dream to go there one day... it looks so beautiful and completely contrary in scenery to the west cost I live on.

I'm ashamed to say it, but even though I've lived in Canada all my life I've only been to two provinces: BC, and Alberta. I've always dreamed of going to every province and territory of Canada but it's so expensive. =( Going to Newfoundland and Labrador is more expensive than going to England at the moment.

  • Newfoundland is so beautiful. Only recently have I come to appreciate it, and my own heritage there. I hope to be able to spend next year there, reaquainting myself with a place unique, beautiful and truly Canadian.

  • newfoundland the best land in the world

  • this is a gorgeous commercial

  • its not called mewfy eather if you want to be exact it is called " newfie" with a ie at the end not a fy!.... ;-\

  • its a Newfoundland AND LABRADOR tourism commercial, okay:)

  • I get this ad in ontario too.

  • As soon as I saw this commercial on the clicker box I LOVED it. Beauty, beauty and more beauty!

  • i been liveing in newfoundland for 12 years now and most time ( American's) call Newfoundlanders dumm or something also altleast we dont live at a place where there is poeple blowing up your city or poeple killing you if you stepout of your house with out getting shot. so i say American's why are you makeing fun of us.you are mostly makeing fun of your own self really=))

  • On the internet its mostly Canadians that do the bashing. Most Americans don't even think about Newfoundland or even Canada to even really give a crap. And before you all go on about my inferior american education I can spot Newfoundland on a map.

  • I am sure that is empirical information. Maybe on Canadian videos DIRECTLY pertaining to Canadians.

  • righton buddy im from newfoundland to by the wayy so ya all u other fellers smarten up and stop being assholes,

  • what song is this?

if you know, then post the song name on my channel, please

  • Cinematography aside, this commerical explained nothing about Newfoundland, other than it being a fantastic place to dry your clothes.

  • i didn't really like the commercial... but you have your opinnion, it's respected, but i just hate being called a newfy,it's disrespectful to me, and as for that commercial, the actor was actually from cape breton, and they make him out to be from bonivista, where my family came from, as if there is no difference??? it's like being called chinese when really your japanese...i'm not trying to start an argument, it's just what i think, i'm actually from C.B.S though

  • "Canada exterminated 100s of millions of cod, haddock, whiting and plaice by 1992 from greed and stupidity, and now it cruelly slaughters populations of arctic seals for the profit of a handful of mafia thugs. Those handful of traitors wiped out jobs throughout Eastern Canada when they exterminated codfish, whiting and plaice and their nurseries. Now the same thugs are destroying seals. Those fish will never recover since harp seals' diet is predators of the fish that gave Newfoundland jobs"

  • Come up hr and do something about it than bitching on the internet then.

    Get the fuck over yourself.

  • This commercial is amazing, I wish our Ontario tourism commercials were this good. It makes me want to visit Newfoundland so much.

  • I live in Newfoundland. it is a terrific place. I am really glad that I am growing up in a small province and in a small town. I'm only 15, and I hope never to leave here.

  • pennell: that's sweet :)

  • What the fuck was that? Our licence plates should just say, "Get a good look because nobody fucking lives here anymore!"

Yes, it couldn't make this place look any bleaker.

  • both are fucking gorgeous, why even argue

  • Okay. youre pathetic. stop trying to start some thing . Youre just an idiot denying the truth that newfoundland is beautiful. and you probley never even been down here so you really dont no. im not going to say anything about alberta because.. well ive never been their and i would no what it looks like. im not going to start something about some place ive never seen so why dont you just actually come to newfoundland and see it before you say anything at all! god by!

  • Much more beautiful.....ha ha ha ha ha I needed a good laugh. Honestly to be fair Alberta overall is not as bad as what so many Canadians make it out to be, but god is it butt ugly.

  • in contrast with the immature no-brainers below this comment, i'd actually like to comment on the video! (wow, who ever thought of that idea?)

this is one i never saw before, and i thought it was pretty witty. another one of my favorites is the 'one of the four corners of the world' one

  • I've got a Newfy joke every one!!!!!!

Ok, so an American, a Canadian, and a Newfy jump off a bridge. The American yells.....FOR AMERICA, the Canadian yells.....FOR CANADA, and the Newfy yells..................... FOR FUN!!!!!!!!

    LOL

    Good day.

  • say it again ya fuckin twat!!! lol,how bout you go downtown st.john's and tell em a newfy joke ya prick, you'll get your fuckin teeth kicked in ya fagit

  • Did Nas teach you to be so nasty or does it just come naturally to you also.

    LOLLOL-Good joke Poqoia.

  • NAS17858,OTIFG AND OLETROUT all you need to grow up!!! this is stupid, acting like a bunch of youngsters on youtube, the whole world is on this website and when they look at Newfoundland they see a bunch of morons arguing about a bunch of crap, your all being idiots!!! if your gunna argue, send each other personal messages, becasue no one wants to read your childish remarks and arguments... christ sake buys!!!

  • I actually don't take offense at this at all.

Nor would a lot of other Newfoundlanders I know. I can't speak for them all obviously, but yeah, I'd rather go out having a blast than declaring my patriotism or whatnot...if that makes any sense to you, haha

Saying Newfy though, now that's bad, too many of those in casual context and I'd throw you out of my house. :P

  • I never would have guessed that "newfy" was an offensive term. After all, weren't "newfy jokes" invented by Newfoundlanders? Which would contribute to their reputation as a fun loving and easy going people. Newfoundlanders I've met didn't seem to mind the jokes or the word "Newfy".

  • Well some people don't mind it, I'm not speaking for all Newfoundlanders here, but I know quite a lot of people who don't like the term when it's used too liberally. Thus the "too many of those" comment. :)

  • I just want to say that if the word "Newfy" is coming from an American, more than likely there is no ill-meaning attached to it. While I know now that it can be offensive, I've used it my whole life as a synonym for Newfoundlander, and I think this is true of most Americans. Newfoundland dogs are just about constantly called Newfies or Newfs here. I've never in my life heard it used in an offensive way, and can't imagine why anyone would ever want to insult Newfoundlanders in the first place.

  • The word newfie is from the american - when they came over during the war. The came up with the term and it mean dumb and not knowing anything about the world. I have no problems with the american its ontario and alberta where i seen most of the dicrimination. I got shit on quite a bit when i came to ALberta - so much I became a boxer/kickboxer. No one fucks with me anymore

  • The Americans had their polish jokes and in Canada we have our newfie jokes.

So now you are a dumb newfie that knows kickboxing, that doesn't change anything, you are still a newfie and people still laugh at you. What are you going to do beat me up, what a brave man you are.

  • Everybody laughs at everybody. It's the way the world works. Most people see Americans as dumb, ignorant rednecks - and America sees the world as dumb, ignorant foreigners. It's all a matter of perspective.

Picking fights on YouTube is an amazing way to not solve anything. I've spent time in both America and in Canada, being from overseas myself, and they both have their ups and downs. Bashing a country for nothing doesn't make you a patriot, it makes you look like an idiot on the internet. wtg

  • I am a Newfie...and I am proud of it! I am 16 years of age, speak two languages, have a scholarship worth over 20grand a year, and where am I from again, Newfoundland! I am not saying I am better than anyone, I am just saying I am better than you think I am!

  • Yea, I've read that about the origin of the word. I was only saying that 99 percent of Americans honestly have no idea that it's an offensive thing to say.

  • newfy jokes were invented by the americans in the second world war becasue the were a lot of americans based in newfoundland, and a lot of newfoundlanders do not mind newfy jokes, but there are also a lot that don't like the jokes, and i'm included in them

  • Is there nothing you Canadians don't blaime America for?

  • pancakes

  • bad movies - if its canadian it sucks lol you american make great movies

  • Quote "ya don't got the balls to tell people our offical name haah."

Lovely sentence structure and expertise in making a statement, as usual. When you say OUR OFFICIAL NAME- you must surely mean yourself and OTIFG because I cannot see any NEWFIE wanting to put themselves in the same class as you two ASSHOLES ( oops, didn't mean to use your OFFICIAL NAMES.

Don't quit you job at Walmart.

  • An APPRENTICE !! WOW!! Who would have thought. I can picture you at the top of the stairs at Wall Mart directing traffic.

Being an APPRENTICE must be such a stressful job for you. Of course all that would only amount to an excuse. I believe the truth may be that it's because you're morally bankrupt mind is so twisted that if you swallowed a nail (the closest you'll probably ever come to being a CARPENTER) you'd shit a corkscrew.

  • Give me a fax number. I will get a form for you and I'll send it to you, at my expense, so you can apply for more gratifying work as a study subject at the university where they study the mental capacity of primates, animals of your calibre.

I am always here to help desperate people, especially a fellow NEWFIE.LOLLOLLOL

  • haha i'll be a carpenter real soon ya dick !! and i'll be makin more money then you ever did lol,you don't know the meaning of hard days work, your just another university dick, who got some fagit office job where you sit on your fudge packin hole all day, then on your lunch break ya go on the internet to educate everyone bout how much ya know haha clown!! you seem to know alot about wal mart... this must be your hang out spot ya cunt loser!! lol go suck a cock

  • Why are people bashing on NAS1758 about the idea of republic... i like that idea,i though lots of newfoundlanders liked the republic i dea,it makes me proud,i'm from newfoundland and live in toronto, and i think newfoundland should go back to what it used to be, and it is his oppinion, respect it.. i don't like being called newfie, and i would rather be called a newfoundlander, then a canadian, any thoughts???

  • Anyone know who wrote the music to this?

  • WHAT IS THE SONG??????

  • i live in newfoundland :)

  • If Newfoundland should become its own country, then the holiday homes up there will be owned by the IRA. Just like Sligo. Could do well as a new taxhaven.

  • Folks just ignore this NAS1758 arsehole. He gets his jollies goin about to our good ole NEWFIE sites and bashing everyone with his foul mouth QUOTE "Newfoundlanders have more pride then anyone in north america!!! so piss off bitchs"

AND-he claims to be a Newfie!! LOL

  • ok...iam a Newfoundalnder, newfoundalnd was its own country one point in time(was granted a responble goverment in the 1850's by Great Britian)but in the 1940's the goverment of Newfoundland sat down together to decied what will be the fath of Newfoundland, it was decied in 1949 that it will join Canada, bec it was not economical fit for to be on its own any more( but it was the riches area in North America till the 1900's when the fishing industray was closping)

  • I don't want to hear anymore about this bullshit!!! you can't change my mind!! telling me my home land will not be free is like telling a muslim his god dose not exsist... you just can't do it... so fuck off people,i'm not changing my mind no matter what you say i will just tell you that you are wrong, Newfoundlanders have more pride then anyone in north america!!! so piss off bitchs

  • Ok beforer ya mainlander fucks shoot off your mouth about how much yuz know about Newfoundland, maybe you should look into the history... cunt pricks!!! fuck al yee, and if your from Newfoundland and don't think we should go back to being are own people..then fuck you too... i'm sick of being the but end of mainland newfy jokes, half the mainlanders haven't even been here, but seem to know everything about it... go fuck your self!!! pricks!!! it's Republic time, and i think Mr.Williams is to do so

  • Man seriously, your little "mainlander fucks" comments are starting to piss me off... you're blaming me for all the newfie jokes, but up to now, you're the one who's shown real intolerance. Recognize facts for what they are, Newfoundland would be much poorer without Canada.

I don't think Newfoundland would be better without Canada.

In fact, I think it would become the first north-western third-world country.

  • well i don't give a shit about what you think along with most newfoundlanders, newfoundland is the greatest place in the world,it's my home,it's more then just an island to me, and i find it funny how you here" mainlander fucks" and get all offended, how dose it fuckin feel,to be discrimnated against for where you were born, welcome to the club, newfoundland is like northern ireland,in there hearts the people know who they are, but there passport tells them who there suppost to be...

  • Ah man don't bring out that "how dose it fuckin feel,to be discrimnated against", I'm from a part of Canada that has as much issues about nationalism and discrimination, don't treat me like I don't know shit about what you think you feel, all I'm saying is that Newfoundland is better off as a part of Canada than as an independent nation.

  • Listen Dick head i don't give a fuck about you,Newfoundland dosn't need Canada and it will only be a matter of time before we are free of this multi-cultural sesspool,so fuck you, fuck the maple leaf, fuck your oppinion, i don't give a fuck about what you say... so stop trying to change my fuckin mind,Newfoundlanders have been think like i do since 1949... so don't think you can change it, How did we survive as a Republic before WE BECAME APART OF CONFEDERATION???? answer that!!!

  • I guess we survived because arseeholes like yerself were locked up in da Waterford.

  • everyone is a god damn newfoundland history genious on this right it,s fuck, none of you no shit your all a bunch of twats!!!! fuck your self alll yeeee

  • Another ignoramus with nothing constructive to say. Of course I could be wrong!! With the foul language and unintelligent writing and grammar I'm not surprised. Maybe you are the latest Nas1758 recruit. LOL. Two stupid, ignorant individuals that really need to get a life.

  • hahah a recruit!!??? this is the next generation bitch, get used to it,were not a bunch of pussies like you!!!!

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

  • I hope you're not trying to make people think good of Newfoundland by associating it with people like you because your comments aren't really helping.

And I have to agree with Sadiquit0: you really ARE showing intolerance for someone who wants to get support. So, good luck with that.

And as far as I know, everyone is being discriminated against in some form or another. Newfoundland isn't THE victim. Though you seem to want that pretty bad...

  • you were the guy speaking on behalf of all "newfies" telling us we shouldn't get offended by these jokes... who the fuck are you to tell us what to think? and no matter how much i try to make people think good of newfoundland there will always be mainland arseholes like you telling them some fuckin hilarious joke about a place you've never been

  • Why would I ever want to tell you what to think? What you think is not my problem. And if I tell you chocolate ice cream is better than strawberry ice cream...but you say I'm wrong because you've never tasted chocolate flavour, does that make you an arsehole?

  • Newfoundland jokes don't mean anything. They just use the name Newfies to joke on. Most people don't even know what the term stands for. It's like blonde jokes...they don't mean anything.

  • They don't mean anything??? so how bout in stead of saying Newfie jokes we say Packie jokes??? why don't you do that?? OHH RIGHT IT'S DISRESPECTFUL!!!! fuck you dickhead...

  • I'm not saying Newfie jokes are more justified than Packie jokes. I'm just saying that most people using such targets for jokes don't even know who they are targeting. You always need a subject for a joke, that's why they pick some name. I'm sure every country has had jokes made on them. These jokes don't mean anything, they have no foundations. Unless you were telling they were?

  • You know a 20 year old bloke from Labrador with no kids.

    Q: What happened?

A: He's either poof, or it is unusualy cold up there in Labrador.

  • I'm a very proud Newfoundlander, and by's i've had enough... it's time for some real change, Canada dose not deserve our culture and hard working people...i'm not Canadian.. we were stolen by the Canadians in 1949 (they like are fish, which they didn't mind giving away to foreign mouths and takin away from us, our fish, our life, the reason we're here... big mistake Mr.Smallwood.. it's time to take it back.. GREEN WHITE AND PINK!!! REPUBLIC OF NEWFOUNDLAND!!!

  • If Canada didn't take your fish... all you would do is eat fish. Selling your fish allows you to make money and buy other food.

But hey, I mean... if you really want to separate from Canada and keep your fish to yourself... I don't think Canada really has a problem with that.

Don't forget to leave Labrador by the door when you leave.

  • fuck ya talking about?? we wouldn't only eat fish, Newf
