  • I grew pretty fond of this tune, considering it took at least four attempts to beat what ever that Zeromus was!

  • Friend, you have right. The GBA version music is the best! FF IV has the better story!!

  • (Me, during my first playthrough) Okay, the Final FINAL boss... Let's uh... What the hell's this thing supposed to be? Okay, a face, arms, fins(looks at lower torso) and a-- Wait, is that a penis?

  • I liked his old sprite better :(

Still, the new sprite's got that chick attached to his chest. Lucky bastard...

  • Zeromus taught vegeta the BIG BANG ATTACK

  • @supersaiyanjohnny081 Gee, is that just a coincidence or did they do that on purpose?

  • Zeromus EG?

  • the psp remake is great .....

  • I remember fighting Zeromus for the first time on GBA. I instantly loved this song. I would've liked to hear this version on the DS port rather than the completely redone version.

  • one year ago..and still the best comment about EG ever.

  • SNES>GBA>DS

    It's just my opinion

  • That fucking BIG BANG!

  • PSP Version apparently has to OS, downloading as we speak and can't wait to reach ZEROMUS

  • This si from a gba game? Daium.

  • ...Who the heck "Is" that sticking out of EG's torso like that?

  • I won't be so forgivint this time around !

I will put in the grouuuund !

  • This theme is the best of all the Zeromos final battles

  • GBA music ROCK xD

  • wait... is zeromus EG's the father of zalera in ff12?

I mean they both have a woman on them.

  • Comment removed

  • this sounds like it would play in a battle where your falling to your death below...like lord of the rings 3 movie or metroid prime 3...

  • I've been listening to this for the past hour...

  • I loved the SNES version and the GBA version.

I'm sorry, but the DS version was not as good.

I think that a 3DS version should be made. Yeah, if that happens, it could get a bit old, but sometime down the road.

I would like to see them truly go all out on it! I would like to see a better version than the DS... The storyline was much improved, but it needed more than that for it to trump the SNES version.

If another comes out, I would like it to, at least be a contender to it.

  • @MetroidPrime1993 Well maybe ya know this by now, but there IS FFIV: The Complete Collection with both DS and SNES soundtracks, FFIV, FFIV: TAY, FFIV Interlude (new link between the two games), outstanding new 2D graphics, and all the bonuses from the GBA version.

I haven't played it since I don't have a PSP, but it looks REALLY awesome and you should definitely give that a look.

  • @GrandMageFang

I actually didn't know that existed! I've check it out recently and I think that it's pretty good. Something to check out when I get some money.

    Thanks for telling me this.

  • 3 people got hit by Big Bang. TWICE!

  • The FFIV Advanced remake has so much better soundtrack than the DS one.

  • omg it sounds like mega mans music

  • i find this the best version of the tune only really because it's the fastest, they should have sped it up in the ds port and i hope they do in the psp.

  • In Soviet Russia................

    Big Bang uses Zeromus.

Which causes the end of reality as we know it.

Unless Chuck Norris were to interfere...

  • The charm of this battle was that the game usually slowed down when I set up commands and stuff.. Oh god I love when GBA games go slow-motion, its so epic.

  • My party for this guy was so obvious...

Rydia - Because her magic and summons were hardcore!

Rosa - Because her healing spells were quite useful

Cecil - (insert obvious fanboy reason here.)

Kain - He's pretty useful even though he betrays you...TWICE!

Edge - Because everyone has to have at least one ninja in their party... Hey , wait a minute... where's my wallet?

  • @DeathbeastGregar Catches up Edge Kills him with a single hit and hands back the wallet along with Edge's dead corpse.

    AQWBlaZer91: Here you go.

  • @DeathbeastGregar

its the default party so its not surprsiing o.o

  • @Kirbyluver2 Well for Zeromus EG I meant... :P

  • @DeathbeastGregar my first time through, i got lost in Edge's dungeon, and gained like 20 levels. faced Zeromus EG at level 92, with ultimate equipment. his so-called "big bang" didn't even halve rydia's health :/

  • @sickoffindinganame EG = Easy Game

  • @DeathbeastGregar

Edward - His ultimate weapon crits often, making his decent... but LOW HP D: Lucky his Ultimiate Accessory Allows him to Shell/Protect spam

Rosa - Weaker healer, but stronger character overall.

Pallom - Reflect and Spamming Flare is awesome.

Cecil - Because the main hero has to be in the party. His Ultimate Spams Holy so when I fight ZEROMUS EG, I'd prefer just His Second best weapon.

Yang - Dual Weilds Hero's Shields, eats magic and deals 9999. Best character ever.

  • i preferred the ps1 version but i never got to play the after years the ps1 versionn just sounds so much better

  • Funny, but the percussion actually sounds better than in the SNES and PS1 versions.

  • zeromuz EG? >_> what the hell is that, obiously I haven't played any FF port to any other console...but what the hell that second thing looks really crappy XD but nice music

  • Zeromus EG is a pixelated masterpiece... if u know what I mean.. *heheh*

  • Heh, I love this game. And this soundtrack. Though I would argue on the storyline comment in the description on the basis of FFV, VI and VII. But thats just my opinion (:

  • This sounds like ass compared to Golden Sun. Golden Sun did not had that aweful "buzzing" as an instrument.

  • First time i saw Zeromus EG i was like " WOW HE LOOKS SO BAD.........why the fucks he got a half naked woman sticking out of his chest...? "

  • this version grew on me : )

  • Maybe it's just me, but I actually think this sounds better then the SNES version. Turning the bassline to a higher pitched staccato riff really brought a whole new sense of urgency to the song.

  • Just when I thought no other FF song could beat FFIV's boss theme, I hear this <3

  • i found a easy trick to beat zeromus eg without cheats

  • I love listening to this song.

  • Does the DS version have EG?

  • maybe that blue haired lady is the lady from FFIV: The After Years...just throwing that out there

  • @madskilliz

Ooooh, you may be right. Nice.

  • And so ends the greatest (and hardest) game ever made. BTW of all versions, which is the hardest (I've played the DS one).

  • My favorite part is at 1:20

  • The battle with Zeromus EG looks quite similar to the final battle with Ultimecia. You know with her 3rd form and with her 4th form you fight in space and stuff...

  • This version sound good but that static buzz that plagues some GBA games is aweful.

  • @SPS148669 What do you mean by 'static buzz'? Remember, you get that with GB games due to the speaker and sound output, not necessarily the music. If you mean the bass channel (which is one of the Z80 GB Sound Channels as opposed to a GBA Direct Sound output channel), then that's part of the GBA's audio charm.

  • @tomatzu kind of a sad thing to note that the Super Nintendo is still the best sounding system because it had 8 channels of audio built in to the system, while most of today's consoles only have around six except for the PS3 which also has 8

  • @tomatzu One of the small reasons I am not crazy about any GBA Remake. I say remake because growing up with the SNES It was very good for its time.

  • @tomatzu "Charm"

  • @SPS148669 that static buzz is what made it unique

  • I think it sounds awfull in comparison with the snes, the brass section realy doesnt appeal to me.

  • The pic!! They should so fight each other!! :D!!

  • Leave it to Nobuo to create a theme that clearly exudes an aura of extreme epicness.

  • 0:57 - 1:20 Just Epic (:

  • plain awesome :P

  • this sounds better than the DS version

  • SO EPIC!

  • 1:00 im so pumped up ;D

    (explodes)

  • This boss was fuckin' easy.

  • I said the same thing on another video, people downed the fuck out of my comment lol

  • @oyp567567 only if you level grind otherwise he/it's hard as bawls

  • the DS version of this song, sucks compared to this and the original. =(

  • Damn, retro music sounds 100x better than their remakes. This is a fine example

  • epic

  • aside from the bonus dungeons and slightly improved graphics, the GBA version is the worst port for FF4 (too many bugs, not such a great translation compared to its PSX counterpart).

other than that, I think this is the best version of the track.

  • I thought the PSX version was garbage. I'm sorry, but I'll take a few bugs over delayed music any day of the week.

The best version of FF4 will always be the SNES version should you want to be pure about it, but the GBA version is a great port and well worth adding to ones GBA collection. In fact, I thought all the GBA ports were very good.

  • Ah, yes, for the PSX version, if you're playing it on a PS2 or emulator, it's still good. As for the GBA ports, I all liked them except for FFIV. But yeah, the best version is SNES ver. (aside from the lowered difficulty)

  • I wished they did the GBA version with all the extras but with the SNES's graphics and music.

  • I don't think it would've been as good, personally. It's best to make a game specific to its platform rather than do a port that could be seen as emulation (when it isn't emulation as such).

You can't deny that FF4 made very good use of the GBA's audio capabilities/limitations though.

  • @tomatzu

yeah, I'd say only FF6 has inferior music quality. I mean, some of the sound effects for FF5 spells in the SNES version were just far too simple, practically 8-bit. the GBA version makes them SO much better...

  • @PerfectGenius23 If they used the SNES music then we wouldn't of had the best cover of any Zeromus theme (this one).

  • @tomatzu hell yea dude everything you just said is exactly true haha ^_^

  • @tomatzu the fan transtlation of it not that shit Final fantasy 2 that was just shit not having yangs ability and all of other unique abilities of characters like aim and pray for rosa build up for yang and dark wave for cecil it is a shitty version

  • @tomatzu And the DS Version is the second best!!!

  • @TheGameAnyoneRPGer ...no. they butchered the DS version of this. SNES is still better.

  • @medikevi I ment the game in general. Here's my order for all 5 remakes:

    1: SNES

    2: DS

    3: GBA

    4: PSP

    5: PSX

  • @tomatzu i think the GBA port was great but the portret of characters ( not the sprites) the pictures of the characters like rosa look awefull and disturbing and all that but the fast movement is great and i noticed no bugs playing it

  • @ShinigamiRyukuu I don't remember any bugs in the GBA version, I remeber bugs in the PSX version though.

  • @ShinigamiRyukuu You mean PS1 as opposes to the Japanese released only PS2 PVR combo that is the PSX.

Gee i would love a 5 cent coin every time somebody makes that mistake

  • I wish Zeromus EG was in the DS version simply because he looks awesome.

  • Hrm... Wait. Zeromus WAS/IS a lunarian too right? In that case... Shouldn't that blue haired 'woman' be like... his sorta normal form? Before he exploded with evil perhaps?

  • @Blueismyflavor

No... The blue-haired woman is only on Zeromus EG. That would make more sense if it was on the other Zeromus...

  • After 0:46 : EPIC!

  • supershadow125, you now dwell in the realm of Epic

  • Cecil: i thought we beat you

Zeromus EG: i am Zeromus EG

Kain: what does the EG stand for?

Zeromus EG: it stands for easy game

Rydia: THAT IS A LIE! YOU'RE HARD!

Zeromus EG: yes i am *looks down at girl.

    Edge: oh you dog.

  • Hope you don't mind, but I'm stealing that joke. It's too good! :P

  • Efin hilarious, man.

  • @supershadow125

he was actually somewhat easy for me, and I had VERY little lunar ruins equipment, and only 1 of the grimoires (would have been 2 if it wasn't for being Zantetsuken'd repeatedly.... and Lightbringer would have been VERY useful.)

mind you, I had 3 physical oriented attackers and BOTH Whtie Mages...

  • @TARDISES i know i beat him before i was scared cause i thought he would be harder but he was not the best team i had was

Cecil,Rosa,Kain,Edge, Rydia cecil had lightbringer. rosa had yoichi's bow and 99 holy arrows (that stuff is cheap to me) edge had murasame and masamune kain had gungis(sorry misspelled) and rydia had the fire whip. i owned EG with ease.

  • @TARDISES surprisingly EG was easier than i thought. the most annoying thing about him was all of the status effect spells that he casted

try fighting brachioraidos hes like 4x harder than zeromus EG

with my super ultra-cheap lunar equipment party, every boss is cake EXCEPT for brach.

  • My biggest question about Zeromus EG is not the identity of the blue-haired woman, but why the hell that sword is there.

  • Cuz' it looks cool.

  • the right zeromus looks kinda like ultima/omega weapon from the final fantasy series

  • Comment removed

  • Super dramatic!!! My kind of music :)

  • This song is so AWESOME!

  • Superb track.

  • i like 0:57-1:15 it sounds awesome

  • I like the tidbits of the main theme in this.

  • Best Zeromus version theme

  • Everyone is arguing about who is more vile and twisted and here I am, the only one worried about the safety of the female lodged in Zeromus EG's chest... We're coming to save you blue haired woman! T~T

  • I always wondered about that myself.

  • @Vorpal I know right? But seriously I suggest we do something about her.. it's starting to make me worried XD

  • in all honesty, i always thought the blue haired woman WAS Zeromus EG, and that the rest of the sprite was some wicked mech she was controlling.

  • hmm i was like do people actually notice that shes there? Cause no one ever talks about that...

  • good point. it's so hard not to see her, though. blue hair and pale skin against a red and gray robot insect thing, she sticks out, but you're right, hardly anybody talks about her.

  • @TheCrimsonVanguard sorry that will not be happening since that is zeromus last hooker ever since there is no one else to have on the moon espeically deep inside and he made sure of that by fusing with her

  • @TheCrimsonVanguard Speaking of which, who the hell is she supposed to be anyway?

  • @TheCrimsonVanguard

Whenever I fight him, i feel like that Zeromus EG is the Devil Gundam and that's Rain. Time for the LoveLove attack!

  • He's one hell of a tree. And that's why we love him.

    <3

  • i say golbez wasnt as evil as exdeath, but thats cuz he (golbez) was being controlled by a force much eviller than himself (zemus)

on terms of evilness, i'd say exdeath and zemus are about the same

and then golbez still had light in his heart, contrary to exdeath and zemus who were like pure darkness o:

  • Thanks for the mp3.

  • Too bad new final fantasies don't have such great soundtracks =( I mean, listen to this, and then compare it to something from XII (which sucked balls)

  • Sadly, that's what happens when you lose Nobuo Uematsu.

No one will ever be able to compose for the Final Fantasy series quite like him. Its nice that he's coming back for Final Fantasy XIV.

  • WHY THAT FAR it should be in XIII at keast for secret songs he remix this dark messinger ans the boss theme from FF1

  • What is Zeromus EG and is he in the ds version? Please REPLY!!!!!

  • Please have the decency to read the description, and no he's not in the DS version.

  • now as a ringtone!(hopefully)

  • The original version of this for the SNES was godd, but it lost some of the sheer epicness from the beginning. The DS version was too slow and kind of kiddish. However, the GBA version totally counts as SHEER EPIC!!! It always takes my breath away every time I listen to it.

  • "I am He who is called Zeromus. I am He who knows naught but hate!"

    BADASS!

  • Ah, yes, but All the Hatred in the Universe could never stand up to Exdeath.

  • exdeath is pretty horrible especially that he would murder galuf before krile in cold blood,

  • @itachi1284

Pitting Cecil against his best friend, and unknowingly at first, his brother, is worse than ExDeath? I'd say they're about even.

  • @PivotInvincible

I was reffering to Exdeath's quote. Not A fact. But he is much more evil. He killed a little girl's grandfather before her very eyes, burned down his home, and destroyed about five towns. Try to tell me Golbez has done worse! :P

  • Destroyed Damcyan and caused Anna to die right in front of Edward and in Tellah's arms. Kidnapped Rosa, threatened to kill her if Cecil didn't comply, and almost didn't give her back. Indirectly ordered Mist destroyed, and sent Cecil and Kain to kill Rydia's mother's eidolon, killing her as well. Killed all of Fabul's monks except Yang and the novices. Killed dwarves in the siege of the tower of babil in the underground. Re-brainwashed Kain after Cecil regained his trust.

  • Golbez failed in a variety of ways. He could have just taken the crystal, and blown up the tower, and he didn't destroy Damcyan, the Red Wings did, and he could've just mind controlled cecil from the very beginning. Exdeath showed no hesitation in destroying life itself

  • I agree with you for the most part..but the only thing I disagree with is the whole taking over Cecil's mind...yeah good idea but it wasn't possible, since Cecil has no darkness in his heart unlike Kain, who holds jealousy over Cecil having Rosa and all. Another thing..it wasn't Golbez's fault...but Zeromus, since he was the one contoliing Golbez.

  • Easily the most epic battle music I've ever heard in any game. Absolutely adore it.

  • Sorry for the third comment but think this is the best verson of the song

  • Yeah, me too... i've listened and played the SNES and DS versions, but not the GBA version... and I think that this one's the best :P

Especially how they made the sounds echo near the beginning~

  • Is Zeromus EG in the DS version?

  • nope unfourtunatly not

  • but there is a boss called proto babil that is really freaking tough

  • no but he is in the gba version in the lunar ruins

  • it could have been cool if they put zeromus EG as a secret boss in ff4 the after years even with the lots of old bosses from other 2D final fantasy :P

  • Zeromus EG looks a lot cooler than the other Zeromus form - only in the DS version of Zeromus you can even see the face of Zemus on the torso very well. And Zeromus EGs look reminds me of the statue Poltrgeist in Final Fantasy VI.

  • WTF zeromus EG u perv ripping OFF neo-exdeath!

  • Well, it Square Enix's rights, not yours.

  • Um HELLO A JOKE!?

  • To be honest, Zeromus EG came 1st if I am correct, EG was in the SNES version of 4, easy mode basicly. But yeah, they look alike... a little to much:3

  • Actually EG came out on the advance the original is Zeromus.

  • This is in the video description:

"The EG version of Zeromus originates from the Final Fantasy IV Easytype Game on the Super Famicom (hence the initials EG at the end), and it uses exactly the same sprite as in its original game."

That is what I was trying to say as well:)

  • I don't get it.

  • The appearance of Zeromus EG is from the SNES version of 4, the easy mode version of it.

  • TearGrande is right. To make RPG games easier and appeal to a broader demographic, what Square did was release Final Fantasy IV Easytype, which was essentially exactly the same game, just with altered sprites in areas, and a lot easier. This was only released in Japan, and I don't think they did this with any of the other Final Fantasy games. I could be wrong there though.

  • True but if i remember correctly they released it only in AMERICA (bold so u understand) K?

  • No, it was released only in Japan. Easytype predates the US release of Final Fantasy 4 (which was called Final Fantasy 2), and thus it's erroneously claimed to be the same, when we know it isn't.

  • My mistake

  • TOUGHEST

    FF

    FINAL

    BOSS

    EVER

6 Words: Big Bang, Meteor, Osmose, Black Hole

Only thing tougher is in the DS version, Proto-Babil.

  • Yeah but when you are lvl 99 with anyone, you can beat him up in like 4minute of spell spamming.

  • Really? I thought Zeromus was a pushove.r

  • FFIV, FFVI, FFVII & FFXI are my favourite out of all the FF's and in my opinion have the best music in the entire series

  • Super epic!!!!!!!! Zeromus EG actually has 200,000 HP (WTF?!?!?!). My favorite part is from 0:57-1:19.
