It's good your car wasn't totaled. Twice a friend has gotten a car he really loves and within a month it was totaled by some one. First time a drunk driver plowed into the front of it outside his house. He had just replaced the motor, sound system, and put a body kit on it. Only, "good", thing is that had it happened a day later it would have been painted as well. Recently he got himself one of his dream cars (Mitsubishi Lancer Rally Art) and he was hit by a red light runner and totaled the car.

Dodger, the bad news is... dented all along the driver's side is pretty bad. Depending on the year of your car, your insurance company might just consider it totaled, rather than pay for the expensive body repairs (or replacements). A bumper or fender would have been no big deal.

I had a car stolen and stripped once. I got it back, the cops found it, with NO interior. No seats, carpet, seat covers, etc as well as no wheels and stereo. LA can be a biatch sometimes, since you really have to have a car to live here.
