There were yellow tangs hiding inside that steep patch! neat. I think I snorkeled above this or something just like it in largo, saw a few thousand blue tangs go by, and 2 nurse sharks.
check out the coronados islands in san diego ive been to keys san diego is another world under water sea lions everywhere and kelp beds its cold to but amazing
I would love to do that, but it would be hard to get there considering that I live in Boston. My grandmother lives in Miami, so this is really convient. It sounds like it would be a great dive, though, to go in San Diego. Just one question, how strong are the currents? Because up here in Boston they are almost impossible to deal with. Thanks
I live in upstate NY and I've only been to Flordia once, and I wish I went here. I was wondering, they let you snorkle near the big statue of Jesus, but can you take off your vest and swim with just a bathing suit, snorkle and goggles without the saftey jacket? Great swim btw! It was entertaining!
Glad you enjoyed it. I believe that they do snorlking trips to the Christ of the Abyss, but I don't believe that they would allow you to take of the vest, but the vest does inflate and deflate, so you can deflate it so its as if you have no jacket on. The jacket is just to maintain buoyancy. But, I would strongly recommend taking a restort one day corse, and so diving. It's a little costly, but it's worth it.
Or, if you are intrested in becoming a certified SCUBA diver, you can go to your local dive shop and get certified. It will pay for itself after a couple of dives, and is a good thing to have.
That would be awesome, but you see, I have no Scuba places around here, and so no where to dive... But yeah, I think I'll do that! Thanks for the reply and info!
That's alright. There are also some 3-day courses if Florida. These are really good to take because you get to get certified and you get to dive in the beautiful waters of the Keys. But, I don't believe that Pennekamp certifies you, but you will have no trouble finding a dive shop there. Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot. This reef is one of the many reefs in Key Largo. Its very texterous, but not as colorfull and doesn't have as many fish as reefs like Molasses.
