  • Oh wouldn't it be fantastic if Irish became a widely used language again??

Though I never liked learning it in school, confusing grammar turned me away from it, but I think if I were given the time, ba mhaith liom a bheith líofa as Gaeilge!

(I want/would like to be fluent in Irish!) :D

  • :)

  • I love this song and I love the language and the country.... Just started my irish course :)!

  • so god damn proud of being irish right now!

  • LOVE this song... to the point where i may have an obsession... altho i thinkin makin up my own languages at the gaelic parts ha... amazing tho!

  • I'm in love with this song!

  • @butterflykisses931 I know. About 60% of Floridians already speak Spanish

  • All My favorite Music are from them! they are awesome! my favorite band

  • Its a old language Im from North Ireland.you don't learn it here by growing up because nobody does speak it as their first language . And in Ireland the first language is English that has nothing to do with you example. Because in Vietnam the first language is Vietnamese isn't it ? Somebody missed geography and politics in school...

  • @Sue1365 what a pity for Ireland! for the Irish culture! I hope Gaeileg would not extinct like many other Celtic languages did.

  • @ddthienvuong There is a good Chance Gaeileg will not extinct, because of People like the Celtic Woman ;-) I like to hear different languages of different Bands, i think there is too much "English" in the world. Dont get me wrong, i just was once in Great Britain, and i fell in love with this place, but why is there so much English here in Germany for example?

  • @roflistganztoll I hope the same, I don't want Gaeileg to extinct at all as I love it so much! About English, what do you mean there is too much English in the world? I mean it's the #1 popular language! and why is it so much in Germany? - well, Germany is a part of the world!

  • I'm from Ireland and you all act like everybody in Ireland could speak geaileg. Just saying that it's not like that actually just the older people and people from the west in ireland speak geaileg nobody I know can speak it including me :)

  • @Sue1365 that's bad! you can't even speak the language of your origin? you better go learn it quick, I'm from Vietnam, and I would feel ashamed if I can't speak Vietnamese!

  • @ddthienvuong I'm from Venezuela and I cannot speak any of my ancestral languages (Wallunaiki, Italian and there may be some Hebrew) except Spanish

  • @ddthienvuong *Wayunaiki

  • I love to listen to Gaelic songs, especially from celtic woman! Nice song, but it's extremely fast when you want to read the text while listening!

Hahaa, funny which languages you learn or have to learn! I would like to learn Gaelic, if there is someone out there who wants to learn (or improve his/her) German or Dutch, maybe we can help each other! :)

  • <33

  • What does Nil Se'n La translate to?

  • @bosspug Nil Se'n La is Gaelic for "sieze the day"

  • @juggalo1133 Awesome. Now I know it in Latin and Gaelic. What is it for Seize the night?

  • @bosspug i know night in gaelic is ouiche but i dont know how to say seize the night but i'll find out and let you know :)

  • @juggalo1133

    urghabháil an oíche

  • @mliasbethlivin4god thank you so much i knew ouiche was gaelic for night but i didnt know how to translate sieze the night i'm still learning lol :)

  • 1:04 to 1:12 was really pretty :D

  • No the thumb down is not download >:I

  • The term Pub came from Public House. I think when she said 'Came by a house and told the woman i was saying' she might have meant a Public house/pub.

  • I wish they taught Gaelic in American schools! I would rather learn THIS than French or German

  • @SuperFiresongs I agree with you. Irish is a beautiful language. I want to learn it so bad

  • @SuperFiresongs Just move to Canada. Most public schools have Gaelic in their curriculum, especially Newfoundland (Irish) and Nova Scotia (Scots Gaelic) and parts of Ontario.

  • @SuperFiresongs

lol didnt think they wud teach german and french there XD

well here in holland we get those 2 classes no matter what we dont even get a choice XD

  • @SuperFiresongs For a voice major, we have to learn Italian, French, German, and Latin. If they had diction in schools, it would be fun to learn. :)

  • @DylanxDarby

it actually surprises me that u have to learn german and french XD

    latin and english ok

    but italian french and german

take dutch as well wud be fun XD

  • @maretini1 If I had to diction for Dutch and Gaelich, I would. :)

  • @SuperFiresongs

do you learn german over there?

cus we here in switzerland learn english,

but i never thaught that you learn our language over there

  • @SuperFiresongs

At least you get German, all I have our public Schools are Spanish(shudders) and French.

  • @SuperFiresongs I recently went to ireland, and they told me its called Irish, not Gaelic, but yeah i agree with you. I would love to learn it as well!

  • 3 People just don't have any passion for gorgeous music, the past and amazing voices, music and the fantastic celtic women!!!

  • "Fill the glasses one more time,

And NEVER heed the empty bottle!

Turn the water into wine, and

Turn the party up full throttle!"

  • This always makes me dance ^^ I'm actually learning to sing these songs because I want to see if I can sing in Irish, the original language~

  • I LOVE this song !!!!!!

  • <3 ♥

  • i love this song it is so pretty

  • I really can't get over how awesome this song is.

"I came by a house last night and told the woman I was staying."

What if the woman said no? xD

    Love it!

  • @meh3335 That's why it's "and TOLD the woman I am staying", not "and asked the woman if I could stay"

  • I see no dislike bar. >w> <w<

  • I totally prefer the Clannad version. Totally.

  • @Dou8me

agree, but i would like kinda speed it up.CW is ideal type of celtic pop. greatly made, but its so polished...the fiddles like from the textbook.i enjoy them ocasionally, but they lack balls(musical balls) imho.

  • such a brillant twist on a Gaeltacht song :)

  • excellent

  • I was having a talk with my friend about how much we liked Celtic Woman and I figured I ought to update my CW music, since all my stuff was performed no later than 2008. Found this song ten minutes later and listened to and now I don't make a single toast without saying a portion of this song, usually the "Fill the glasses" verse. =P

  • I saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado an they were amazing on the last night of this tour!!!

  • I feel like I'm listening to Angels singing! Their voices are beautiful! And this song is the best! I love the whole thing! I heard this song for the first time last night on PBS and now I can't get enough of it! It makes me get up and dance! I just L.O.V.E this song!

  • Toss up between this and Clannad's version. I think Clannad's is catchier, but I like the english parts along with the Gaelige here. Oh, heck, I love 'em both! 5/5!
