  • Charlie is also known 4 his music at the Australian neo-western film RED HILL!

  • I'm all for killing hogs. Hog wild and hog mad to boot.

  • You've got fans (well at least one) in North Yorkshire too. Glad I bought Jan 2011 Acoustic mag. I'd never heard of this guy before.

  • Charlie Parr is the best songwriter alive.

  • This is so fun to play on guitar! Thanks charlie for making great tunes.

  • @billybush132 do you have the tab for me ?? PLEEEEASE

  • @Mrs0sanka0 nah i didn't use a tab i just picked it by ear. its basically a minor to C to G with various walks.

  • @billybush132 ok, thanks, i'll try! bonne continuation dans cette vague folk blues!

  • Then we talked about the news, then we talked about the noose.

  • charlieee!!! great to see u on youtube! i miss u man!!

  • great story in this one! charlie!!!!

  • Omg that Charlie dude is amazing good ^^

    I love it

    Greetzzz from toyboyman*(A)

  • Yeah touring Australia in April, nah come to Victoria and watch him here star.

  • Great song, but F*ck the UFCW. They are union at our plant and they don't do a damn thing except act a scape goat for corporate.

  • A fact... you work union you live better.... do some research on wages and benefits... yeah, lots of politics happening but the bottom line is that if you work union, you do much better than non-union.... it is well documented.

  • Saying it's a fact doesn't make it so. My last job was non-union with better wages, better benefits, better working conditions and better hours.

  • just because you worked one job that paid better you can't make a blanket statement.... that would be like saying because the unibomber had a beard... everyone with a beard is a crazy dude that wants to bomb stuff... get my drift?? ... just did a quick search... from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.... in 2004 the median weekly earnings of a UNION position paid $781.... non union paid $612..... a difference of $169 per week! That is 28%.... are we done here.

    CHARLIE PARR! UNION! CHARLIE PARR!

  • You provided another excellent example of a blanket statement when you said, "you work union you live better". I believe int the right to association and peoples right to form unions, however unions have a long history of violence in achieving their power. That power often doesn't serv the worker.

  • im a non union drywall finisher and i work half the hours they do and make triple what they do so yeah you really cant make blanket statements. different for everyone.

  • @creeloebelle So..... St. Paul Plumbers Local 34 wage/fringe package is $58.01 per hour of which I only took home $34.00 so the union could bank 20 buck an hour for every hour I worked while they sat on their asses. Had to charge customers $325 per hour just so the employer could have a 20% profit margin. I left that shithole union to a better place that guarantees me 40+ hours a week with better benefits and the ability to charge customers less per hour and I take home more money. Fuck union

  • OUT-F'in-STANDING!!

    UNION PROUD BROTHER!

Charlie Parr - a talent that should be recognized nationwide... I'm lucky enough to live 20 minutes from where his homebase is.... so.,... dingwop!

  • He will never be recognised nationwide as long as there are record labels: he isnt marketable enough for the target market today: the millennial generation.

The standard of music today has been raped.

  • @thestrugglewithin Haha, saw him last night @ 1st Ave in Minneapolis and it was pretty much all Millennials. Then again, Minneapolis has a pretty big underground scene.

  • everyone says that and i agree but its not just now, its been that way as long as record companies have existed it just gets worse the better they get at manufacturing bullshit to get peoples money instead of releasing actual good music from real artists. because if they did that the power would be in the artists hands, and that just wouldnt be acceptable

  • you've got fans in australia as well so come out here

    great song

  • and new zea land why not do a whole Australasian tour :D

  • nice

  • Wow. This guys is amazing. I wish he would come play in the Bay Area.

  • You live in the states and have only just discovered him, goes to show Charlies been hidin in the woodwork waitin to be found.

  • heck I boycott spam regardless!

  • "wonderin' who the enemy was"

  • cant say i beleive a whole lot in some unions either.

  • WoW read wikapedias description of the 85 strike at hormel, pretty full on it seems, considering it was one of the longest strikes recorded and had repercussions nationwide. Spam aye Well i never!!

  • I was at the incident that this song remembers. My whole family worked at the plant. Most of them ended up being arrested. It was a sad day in the history of America.

  • What can ya say, unfortunately some of the best blues or any good song sometimes come from personal experiences and this sums that that up to a tee. Im wondering whether this song is related to dead cat on the line another great song but because i cant quite understand all the lyrics in both songs there seems to be a connection.

  • yes thank you charlie

    you are the greatest

    musician to ever grace us

    with your gift of song!

  • Because he is a God among men. And just a beautiful individual who can paint a vivid picture, normally of the downtrodden. But this shows the plight of his family and all those who worked at Hormel during the strike. I was so happy when he fulfilled this request. The songs from his own personal experience always ring so true, mainly because of the conviction behind it.

  • thank you to everyone who made this possible, this music is therapeutic beatiful and true!!

  • Great man!!!!

  • Charlie Parr...why are you so good?

  • I reckon its his simplicity, rawness, great sound and theres no frills attached LoL. Hard to criticise that..
