Thing is, When people are very intelligent in a specific field, they lack basic knowledge about something else. House for example his brain is wired very well for problem solving, but not well when it comes to personal relationships, etc. Like Asperger's Syndrome, They excel at something but are terrible at something else (usually Social behaviour). When I say very intelligent, I mean excel better than any other by a large margin.
Lot of -kids/teens- pretend to act like this guy. They sit there and say "oh i have dysfunctional problems, and i'm not happy, i'm like house". Yea, far from it. You're a kid that looks up to this guy because his character is made to be witty, quick and funny. So, "Monkey see, monkey do". Better yet, Ape see, ape do. Quit trying to be/act like something your not.
House may act like an ass, but I'd want a doctor like him treating me if I ever got sick. The character is no bs when it comes to his patients and he won't hand them a cupcake and tell them it'll be ok when it really isn't ok.
this song is really great...!guys do you know where i can download it from? i searched like crazy and i can only find a short version of it and with the episode's conversation...pleeease help..!
u guys noe that we love house because he's the main character and we get to see scenes where he shows 'weakness', usually when he's alone. you guys do noe that if there was a real-life house, just assuming, he'd just be an ordinary ass and you'd never wanna go near him, never mind making friends with him
@nbubu1986 That's not the way I interpret it. In the series, we catch a glimpse of how House thinks. House develop two characters we wish we had: the character that has prodigal powers that the world needs and the character that can successfuly deal with his internal conflicts without having to resort to confiding hisself to others.
@nbubu1986 Unfortunately, even though House's integrity and practicality makes him great, he severs ties with society. This accounts for his seemingly rash, crude, and insensitive temperament towards other.
@nbubu1986 Yet he embodies the enigmatic persona the ideal attractive men has. For House, we try and analyze, in vain, ulterior motive. Viewers ask: Is he selfish or altruistic? and if he is selfish, what does he ultimately want if happiness does not bring him satisfaction otherwise if he is altruistic, why is he trying to conceal it?
@nbubu1986 I don't like the character because he happens to be the main protagonist (this would hardly make for an argument) or because he is sometimes vulnerable. I like him for his wit and integrity.
@nbubu1986 I'm a jerk to just about everyone I know, even my closest friends, but they accept this part of me, and still see good in me, it's how I've kept the true friends, and weeded out the fact one. It's just human instinct to be afraid of friendship/companionship.
@nbubu1986 I'm dysfunctional and have problems with emotional attachments. I would try to lose 20 pounds, get a new bra, color my hair and go after him in a heartbeat!
That's because almost everyone's superficial and an idiot. They don't want to look past what tends to be an asshole disposition and their arbitrary concepts of what social norms are.
Just because you smile and act happy towards everyone, it doesn't mean I have to.
But even if I was trying to mimick him, I'd like to see how that's actually a bad thing. He's one of the most intelligent television characters portrayed. That is, if you actually try to mimick his intellect along with his mannerisms, otherwise I agree with your other post that kids mimick his mannerisms but not his intellect, It just breeds arrogant idiots.
@Alejandr0s1 Ummm Linda Perry gave the song to Christina, she didn't steal the song. Get your facts straight and while you're at it go back to school cause your grammar is atrocious.
@UAintDeletingThis1 Agreed. Its a great song and to have Elvis Costello do his interpretation is great. The original would have been to familiar / mainstream feeling for the show. Thanks for uploading.
Not only is this an incredible show- and it has grown- but the music is pivotal! Includes music from all genres and eras--original music from early black blues to jazz to rock to current R&B to hip-hop-- it's all germaine to the show and interesting. How about Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah"? House is a music afficionado. It's brilliant all around. This song was great. Much better than CA's. Costello rocks always. What about the episode where "Hallelujah" made the appearance? Comments?
Hey! So, "cancer but not cancer" was the line from second episode of fifth season called "Its not cancer". You made me watch the episode again (which is good, because its great episode) and there were only two songs. The one on the beginning is called "Vice" by Crystal Method, but I dont think thats the one you are looking for. The second one is called "You Might Die Trying" by Dave Matthews Band. And yea, it is really good song.
Is this a cover of Cristina Aguilera's "Beautiful" or the other way around?

@Phaze252 oh here we go, a house wannabe
sacr3 7 months ago
@sacr3
Oh cute, because I am similiar to someone that makes me a wannabe.
I guess Plato was a wannabe Socrates, and Newton was a wannabe Aristotle, and every astronomer is a wanna be Galileo.
There are only so many personallites in the world, there's bound to be similiarites.
And also, I don't take vicodin.

But in reality, I imitate George Bernard Shaw

@nbubu1986 well, that's how all american tv shows are. The writers create a fantasy world, that we kinda wish we lived in.

Wonder if it would of had the same effect if it the original version by Christina Aguilera

Probably not. The best thing about these popular songs being used in house was that no one noticed until the lyrics started, so it didn't seem cheap

Yeah, you're right. A new voice and version is just so refreshing, though I'm not saying the Aguilera version was at all bad.
