You are so wrong! I was a volunteer adult leader drill & pt instructor for the Lt. Presley O'Bannon Young Marines in St. Louis , MO for several years. My oldest son started in the program when he was 8 yrs old. The program was a huge asset to his well being, it emphasized respect, honor, & discipline. Something that many Americans, especially children lack these days.

The program has been around since October 17th, 1959. Way to go. And further more the Young Marine Program is and has been giving structure and discipline to youth across America since its begginings. You really should do your research before you slander national non-profit groups. The Young Marines Program has been around since 1959. This program is much like the Navy Sea Cadet program and the JROTC programs you will find throughout the country. Every president since 1959 has supported this program. This is a non-profit program and each unit is run by volunteers in much the same capacity of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. You really should research the program more.
