1:46 Choosing between 33/45 RPM is not dependant on the speed of the tune but the way the vinyl is cut. Generally a 33 RPM vinyl will be better quality than 45 as it allows wider grooves and a wider frequency range.
2:13 a mixer does not act as an amplifier, if you have monitors without built-in amplifiers (passive as opposed to active) then you will have no sound. An amplifier is still essential in your set up.
